White Trash (Obama's Father Pleger "incident")
Cathie from Canada ^ | May 29, 2008

Posted on 05/30/2008 2:22:07 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

This is why Obama should have laughed off Rev Wright. Hillary would have. She would have just snorted "That's a minister for you, always preaching hellfire and damnation. Of course I'm not responsible for anything a minister says!"

But Obama didn't do that. He accepted the Republican frame that he was tied at the hip to the preacher in his church. He took it all seriously.

So now here we go again -- this time with a white guy, a Father Michael Pfleger, who belted out a mean-spirited, ugly, gratituous anti-Hillary skreed last Sunday at good old Trinity United:

". . . We must be honest enough to expose white entitlement and supremacy wherever it raises its head. I said before I don’t want this to be political because, you know, I’m very unpolitical (mocking tone, huge laughter). …When Hillary was crying (gesturing tears, uproarious laughter from audience)–and people said that was put on–I really don’t believe it was put on. I really believe that she just always thought ‘This is mine’ (laughter, hoots). ‘I’m Bill’s wife. I’m WHITE. And this is mine. And I jus’ gotta get up. And step into the plate. And then out of nowhere came, ‘Hey, I’m Barack Obama.’ And she said: ‘Oh, damn!’ WHERE DID YOU COME FROM? (Crowd going nuts, Pfleger screaming). I’M WHITE! I’M ENTITLED! THERE’S A BLACK MAN STEALING MY SHOW. (SOBS!) SHE WASN’T THE ONLY ONE CRYING! THERE WAS A WHOLE LOTTA WHITE PEOPLE CRYING!"

Obama can't laugh this off now, that ship has sailed. So Obama has now released the usual deeply disappointed statement, and Pfleger has issued the usual blame-the-victim non-apology apology:

"I regret the words I chose on Sunday. These words are inconsistent with Senator Obama's life and message, and I am deeply sorry if they offended Senator Clinton or anyone else who saw them."

Gee, don't overdo it, eh?

No doubt we'll be seeing this video again and again.

And every time white Americans see it the subtext will be, Obama thinks you are white trash. Not exactly the message he wanted his campaign or candidacy to promote.

The only thing missing from pfleger's performance was the "black" face paint.....what a joke dems are......always accusing the Republicans of being racists....when it's them all along.

Video link in case you haven't seen it enough or wish to email it into internet legends....

No, Obama tied the reverend to his own hip. "He's my mentor, my pastor, married my children..."

Thats what he thinks about those whites...he likes.

The rest of us are considered lower than the sole of his shoe and that will be his undoing.

As for this Priest, he should have just read his apology right after his Shtick, since they were both written and rehearsed at the same time.

Nothing spontaneous about that rant of his.

Stanley Kurtz over at National Review had a long article of this “Priest's” association with the false messiah and I have to say that they go back quite a long way. Someone within the Church hierarchy needs to look into his activities because they seem unchristian like at best.

Dont forget this guy was introduced by Obamas new pastor ,he then went into that tirade we saw yesterday and immediatly following the tirade his new Pastor came back to the pulpit and thanked him for that message !
Did you see all the wonderful people in Obamas congregation shunning that preacher and that message ? I sure am glad none of those people are Racists

And precisely what is in his heart.

More and more, J.C. Watts' saying seems to be the campaign slogan for the Obama camp: "What's down in the well will come up in the bucket."

No, whites - at the least intelligent whties - will not think that. What they will be thinking - or perhaps rethinking - is their relationship with the black community. At least I am. It’s sort of like the Muslims. You have fanatics blowing up buildings and killing people and we are told that is just a small minority of the Muslim population. But out of the larger and supposively more sane Muslim population, how many of them are condemning the fanatics? Now it is the same with the black community. Whites are asking themselves - is this what goes on in the black churches? Is this what they think of whites? Obama - and those who he hangs out with - are wedge’s.

This goes back to treating every man individually how you would like to be treated. Racist liberals demand whites (all of them) revere blacks (all of them) and walk humbly before them for perceived sins of (all) white people.

MLK even wanted to be judged individually by the content of his character. I know many diverse people who probably in their own homes and among their own kind say "white people do this" or "white people are this way" but they also might say "except normy". I know white people who do the same thing so I think it's common among races. I think at an individual level you just have to treat everyone like a man or woman. Don't kiss their ass and don't treat them like dirt.

“What a freak show...
He looks like and sounds like even more of a fraud than most of his ilk.”

Father Pfleger is a Catholic priest, if you can believe it, in the Chicago archdiocese. He is well known as a political activist who preaches (notice I am not saying he gives sermons, he preaches) his political baloney in a southside of Chicago black Catholic church. Cardinal George in Chicago, is afraid of Pfleger. He won’t get rid of him, even though Pfleger’s “Catholic” church services are anything but Catholic. They are the same kind of cr*p that Rev. Wright spiels forth with. Father Pfleger wears Black African vestments at his services, just like Rev. Wright does. The services sound like those given at Wright’s church, not a Catholic church. Pfleger is a political troublemaker and always has been.

Cardinal George won’t do anything about this clown, as he knows (because Pfleger has intimated as much) that the whole congregation at Pfleger’s church would go on strike, or riot, or worse, if Pfleger was removed from his church. Priests are supposed to be rotated periodically from where they are at to another parish somewhere else. A couple of years ago, a rotation took place where Pfleger was supposed to be one of the priests moved elsewhere as it was his time to be moved (in fact long overdue). Also up for a move was a very popular priest at a predominantly white southside of Chicago Catholic church, one of the few where the Tridentine Mass is given, primarily by this popular priest. The parishioners protested and petitioned the Cardinal to allow this popular priest to remain at the church, rather than remove him elsewhere. Guess who got moved elsewhere, and who didn’t. That’s right. The popular priest at the Tridentine Mass church was moved elsewhere, while Father Pfleger was allowed to stay at his black southside church where he remains to this very day. The cowardly Cardinal won’t touch him for “political”, not religious, reasons. A friend of mine goes to the church that has the Tridentine Mass, and she says the parishioners there are furious at the inequity of Pfleger staying, and their priest having to go. It didn’t sit well at all.

Pfleger fancies himself a black man, not a white one. He talks black. He dresses in African style black vestments at services. He is filled with white guilt. He is, in my opinion, mentally sick. As Michael Savage says, liberalism is a mental disease. Pfleger fits that image to a tee. My guess is that Pfleger, who has an enormous ego, IMHO, wanted a piece of the national limelight, and his desire for media exposure outweighed the damage he had to have known he would be serving up to Obama. He wants a piece of the publicity. Pfleger has been a friend of Obama’s, and has advised him politically and worked on Obama’s campaign. Pfleger is also good friends with Louis Farrakhan. There is a cabal of hypocritical elitist verging on commie, definitely socialist liberals that infest the southside of Chicago, predominantly in the Hyde Park area (near the University of Chicago). Obama is one of them, don’t be fooled otherwise. His friends and associates are all from that same cesspool.

I retired recently from the Univ. of Illinois at Chicago (not the same as the U. of Chicago) which is where William Ayers (the terrorist) ia currently a Professor. UIC has a large auditorium called the Pavilion, which is where Louis Farrakhan gives his big sermons, speeches, whatever you want to call them, at. Right down the street a bit and around the corner from the building I worked in. These are huge events where primarily southside Blacks and the occasional white liberals (many from the two southside universities aforementioned) attend.

Pfleger has allegedly threatened to take his parishioners and go elsewhere on the off chance that the Cardinal and the Chicago diocese would ever work up the nerve to clip Pfleger’s wings. Maybe he is setting himself up for that possibility and becoming the eventual leader of a new church ala Rev. Wright’s. My hope is that someday Cardinal George will finally actually do something about this miscreant and send him to a parish in a small rural town in central Illinois. Would serve him right and get rid of his troublemaking self. Although I am sure Pfleger would quit the Catholic church if it tried to move him, amidst much inner city turmoil, and start his own black liberation theology church, taking with him his parishioners from the faux Catholic church he now preaches in. I am really disappointed with Cardinal George and his totally wimpy copout when it comes to “Father Phleger” and his seeming inability to deal with the now beoming infamous priest. And Cardinal George is the President of the U.S. Catholic Bishop’s Council for about a year or so now. He’s not showing leadership when it comes to Pfleger though. He’s afraid of potential controversy and inner city Blacks turning on him and the Catholic church if he pulls the rug out from under Pfleger. And so the beat goes on.

What a freak show...& so outrageous!
If I were a black person, I would be so offended by that “priest’s” sermon & behavior. I can’t figure why anyone would still attend that “church”. That man is not a priest; he should be defrocked. Poisoning our children.
Disgusting & shameful.

Come now...I feel certain that this is the first and only time that Trinity has ever had a guest preacher talk this way. everyone else over the last twenty years has simply discussed the love of our Lord Jesus Christ towards all people...

BTW, I really got a kick out of the poster on Talk Left who said (twice) that it had nothing to do with BHO. Sure. He sits in the pews of that church for 20 years and it has nothing to do with him. Mmmkay. What was Hillary’s phrase? Willing suspension of disbelief?
