2008 Presidential Electoral Vote Projection & Karl Rove Electoral Map - 5/29/08

Here is the 2008 Presidential Electoral Projection Map and 50-Day State Poll Average Chart for Thursday, May 29, 2008 . . .

Barack Obama continues to lead John McCain in the Electoral Vote race 237-236, with 65 votes rated as a "tossup." This is the eighth straight day he has led by that margin.

Several state polls rolled off of the 50-Day averages today. This has resulted in some movement in several state averages, but nothing large enough to tip a state into a different category. Here are the states with changed averages . . .

The Electoral Map we are showing here at Electoral Projection is very close to what former Bush Chief Political Strategist Karl Rove is showing! Here is Rove's Map . . .

Ben Smith's Blog at Politico.com yesterday ran a story revealing what Rove's electoral map is looking like right now, and they even linked over to us here saying that our projection was very close to Rove's! I take that as a great compliment. . .

I tell you. I have to give Ohio and Virginia to John based on these numbers. The michigan numbers I have seen all have a 4 point spread for John McCain as well though this one doesn’t read that way.

It will be interesting to see what kind of Judas affect Bob Barr will have on things as well as Nader or whoever on the other side.

I see WI and MI going Obama, VA and NM going McCain making Ohio THE deciding factor.

They need to move Virginia off the undecided. But move Ia,Co,MN and Pa into the toss up.

Ohio is trending towards McCain I believe. Don't forget that it was in the hours before Ohio's primary that the “bitter people clinging to guns and church” controversy broke out.

They rejected Obama in a big way and I don't think they will vote for him in November.

Michigan, I had always figured for Obama because of the Arab muslim population there but these polls are giving McCain a 3 point lead in the state.

All very interesting.

Obama is not going to win Virginia.

Virginia just sent one of the filthiest individuals to ever draw breath to the United States Senate in '06.And you're trying to tell us that they won't do the same,presidency-wise,this year?

PA is definitely a toss-up also. Obama outspent Hillary something like 10:1 and still lost - among Democrats!

Yes. Jim Webb is an effin psycho and I am embarrassed that he is my senator.

However, Webb ran as a Reagan democrat, with a militaray background. Even with the ComPost running hit jobs on his opponent Allen every week, the drummed up Macaca incident, and Larry Sabato working for Allen, Webb only won by 9k.
