After reviewing acknowledgments of God from all 50 state constitutions, one is faced with the prospect that maybe, the ACLU and the out-of-control federal courts are wrong! If you found this to be 'Food for thought' copy and send to as many as you think will be enlightened, as I hope you were.
(Please note that at no time is anyone told that they MUST worship God.)
What a beautiful post. Thank you.
Kinda interesting in these times when the aclu are ripping GOD out of ever aspect of our lives.
Actually, since we now know there are at least 60 states, ten are missing from this list. Still, for the 50 it does cover, God runs the table.
You pay close attention to detail. Very good catch!
“Actually, since we now know there are at least 60 states, ten are missing from this list. Still, for the 50 it does cover, God runs the table.”
Barry HUSSEIN Obama says there ae 57 states, and he is the new messiah. My kepboarf iss starrtind to melllltt.
NOTE that each of those states were told to write a Constitution prior to the establishment of the Federal Constitution.
Little did the states know that many of their powers would be usurped by the Federalists in Power.
I have silk, circa 1860 NYS Flag (embroidered in China), similar to the present flag. It says "Free and Independent" in gold letters. The phrase appears in many early deeds.
Thank you for this great post.
I saved it to hard drive.
Thank you. You know, if they divide Texas up into the seven or so states it’s allowed to be divided into, the GOP would control the Senate for a generation or so. Maybe that’s what Barack meant. Or maybe he’s counting Hawaii’s Islands as separate states, although he ssys he isn’t allowed by his handlers to visit Hawaii, his home state(s).
Did you know that the states have the constitutional power to address religious issues regardless what the misguided USSC says about Jefferson's so-called "wall of separation?"
This post (<-click), while addressing abortion, attempts to explain how FDR's distain for state powers arguably led to the USSC's illegal limiting of our religious freedoms and also its scandalous legalization of abortion.
In fact, the states have the constitutional power (10th A.) to authorize public schools to lead non-mandatory (14th A.) classroom discussions on the pros and cons of evolution, creationism and ID, as examples, regardless that atheists, separatists, secular judges and the MSM are misleading the people to think that doing such things in public schools is unconstitutional.
Sadly, the reason that the USSC has been able to unlawfully limit our religious freedoms and legalize abortion is the following. The problem is that ignorance of the Constitution and its history is epidemic. Widespread constitutional ignorance is evidenced by the following links.
http://tinyurl.com/npt6tThe consequences of widespread constitutional ignorance is that the people are impotent to stop the feds from interfering with 10th A. protected state powers, particularly the power to address religious issues and abortion.

The bottom line is that the people need to reconnect with the Founder's division of federal and state government powers. The people need to get in the faces of Constitution-ignoring justices, demanding that they start respecting state's rights to address religion and abortion - or get out of DC. In fact, the bonus is that the people can also get in the faces of members of Congress, demanding that they stop constitutionally unauthorized federal spending, another 10th A.-related state power issue, and appropriately reduce federal taxes - or get out of DC.
There is a Freeper who has this list on his home page. I’ll try to remember his name.
I think that's probably correct for the 1778 South Carolina Constitution, but I believe the current preamble from the 1895 Constitution is slightly different:
(Source: http://www.scstatehouse.net/scconstitution/preamble.htm.)PREAMBLE CONSTITUTION OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA
We, the people of the State of South Carolina, in Convention assembled, grateful to God for our liberties, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the preservation and perpetuation of the same.
Also, South Carolina's Constitution has an introduction prior to the preamble, which reads:
(Source: http://www.scstatehouse.net/scconstitution/introduction.htm.)
INTRODUCTION THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA:
At a Convention of the People of the State of South Carolina begun and holden at Columbia on the Tenth day of September, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-five, and thence continued by divers adjournments to the Fourth day of December in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Ninety-five.
South Carolina has actually had a number of constitutions since 1776, with three major versions and several minor revisions; there's a good history of them at South Carolinas Constitutions.
