What's wrong with being a Newt?
The supervisor of substitute teachers is the one who should lose his job. Sheesh!
I mean no due process: they didn’t show he weighed the same as a duck or anything.
Its all those Harry Potter books I tell ya.
Welcome to Free Republic, now if only this teacher could make the teachers union disappear.
Well I say throw him in a lake. If he floats, GUILTY. He sinks and drowns, well he’s innocent and he must be offered an apology. Post humously of course (I think I spelled that wrong)
Thanks, long time lurker, don’t always have time to post.
Muggle complaints?
Did you get better?
Around about post #30.
Ahhh - missed it. My bad - had a long night.
I am more upset that this man was allowed to have a deadly weapon in the presence of our fair, innocent and vulnerable young ones. A toothpick, do you know how many people die or are severly maimed in toothpick accidents each year? Do you know the money this country spends in rehabilitating those blinded in toothpick accidents or assaults? Do you know the medical costs of keeping someone on life support after they have choked on a toothpick? Or the drycleaning bills for those in the path of someone Heimliched for toothpick choking?
What if a student had gotten ahold of this very dangerous object? Blind, bleeding, gasping for air sending the classroom into a panicked frenzy. Chaos ensues the little ones are trampled trying to escape. Oh the horror!!. And let’s not forget those little pieces of pointed wood are inflammable as well.
The man not only is a wizard but a menace as well. String him up !!!
You’re right!
And don’t forget enacting a bill to ban toothpicks! Egad!
Guilty. Burn him.
Funny that you mention that... In gradeschool, I was given a slide rule as a gift by an uncle who was an aeronautical engineer at McDonnell. It was confiscated as I was playing with it, trying to figure out how to use it, by my math teacher. I never did get it back.

It still doesn’t make sense. The second article says the substitute let the kiddies use “unapproved computers.” Okay, I get that the computers might not have had filtering software on them, but where were these unapproved computers that the kids could access them?
It also says he didn’t follow the lesson plan. Ha ha ha ha ha. I remember how we used to treat substitute teachers. Their lesson plan was to survive the class.
Thanks for the ping!! That is hysterical!
