A local teacher is accused of wizardy for doing a slight of hand trick.
What did he do, make the school board disappear?
Made a toothpick “disappear”...
This is the kind of crap that gives devil worship a bad name.
“Sleight of hand”
Is today April 1st again?
Eh - maybe he or she just had really small hands?
Sorry, kind of nervous this is my first time. Hope I did it right, and didn’t break any copyright rules.
He’s a witch! Burn him!!
He turned me into a newt!
Where are the pictures, so we can decide guilt or innocence?
Did he use a (forbidden) slide-rule, and get a
math calculation correct (forbidden)?
Now we know what the wizard does when he isn’t on the van getting summoned by the cell phone guys.
And this happened in Florida. I get the feeling that somebody didn’t like him, and used this as an excuse
Is there a statute dealing with this? Was the teacher trying to claim supernatural powers or something? It was a magic trick, fer cryin’ out loud. And he lost his job??? Granted, he was a substitute but for a substitute to come in and take over a middle school class, magic is a job requirement if you are going to survive the day. Maybe the next step is for the sub to get a lawyer and watch him make a whole pile of the school board’s money disappear. They’d deserve it.
There’s obviously more to it than that. He must be a White Christian male who didn’t bow down to the gods of political correctness.
You did fine. Welcome to Free Republic. :-)

It seems fine to me. I was just being a nuisance :-).
Ping ... it’s not exactly a naughty teacher ping request, more like a stupid administrator ping request. Magic and wizardry are definitely not covered in the Florida Statutes.
A newt?
