Obama Says Reaction to Remarks Proves Their Accuracy
AZCONSERVATIVE ^ | 19 April 2008 | John Semmens

Presidential contender Senator Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who has faced widespread criticism of his characterization of rural Americans as bitter and racist, says the intensity of the reaction “proves the validity of what I said. The animosity shown toward the first credible Black man to run for president is evidence enough that racism is still the mainstream of rural America.”

“I don’t totally blame them for being bitter,” Obama went on. “I’m articulate, clean and charismatic—everything that they’re not. And I’m a millionaire, to boot. It’s got to be hard on these rednecks to see a Black man outshine them by such a wide margin.”

Obama said that despite the animosity, he plans to be magnanimous with such people once he is president. “While it wouldn’t be safe to continue to allow them to cling to their guns, I believe we can tolerate letting them keep their Bibles as long as they don’t start any trouble,” Obama promised.

The Senator indicated it would be unlikely that he’d be as lenient with “the turncoat who made my private remarks on this subject public. There will be accountability.”

Presidential rival, Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) suggested that Obama’s betrayal by someone he trusted “show’s he is a poor judge of character.” “You know, I’ve learned the hard way, that even those closest to you can’t really be trusted,” Clinton observed. “I think this episode proves that Senator Obama is too naïve and callow to bear the responsibilities of the presidency.”

What an elitist @$$hole ! If I was in the states that have yet to vote, I would cross over just to vote for this @$$hole to be the democrat candidate. If he is the final contender, I think he will be sticking his foot into his mouth quite a few times !

What a condescending @$$hole ! I dealt with these kind of people before and I have no use for them. When they get into a position of authority, they are very dangerous !

On his opinion on guns, he makes it know that he is better than us "rednecks" and considers us a threat holding onto them. On another item, I guess we will be allowed to keep our Bibles so long as we don't cause trouble - define trouble.... Is trouble defined such as being against homosexuality ? Being against abortion ? Or is it more like being against Islam ?

the article is not true. It is satire. They should have said that but they didn’t.

You're also smarmy, conceited, racist, untrustworthy, gullible, a liar, and have very few of the distinguishing qualities that are so desperately needed at this point in time.

But hey,

You make a great showpiece and puppet.

SATIRE! - Obama Says Reaction to Remarks Proves Their Accuracy - SATIRE!

This will have to be the required headline format for all of your future articles - this one is way too close to reality. ;)

The problem with these satire pieces is they're so believable!

Exactly! I really admire folks who can come up with this stuff. Not to thread drift, but for some reason it reminds me of Phil Hendrie and his hysterically funny radio show (if there are any fans out there).

He's a pro-war dem who claims to be a socialist. But in his very clever shtick (wherein he skillfully creates the illusion of a caller to his show that he interacts with, by being so good at interrupting himself in different voices, basically, lol) what I heard doing was him creating these outrageous straw-man conservative characters that he would use to bait angry liberal callers. These characters were just believable enough that he would rope these angry liberals in, to hilarious effect.

It worked the other way too, but mostly he was politically incorrect. Just my take, he donates so generously that the libs can't go after him.

It's been a while since I've tuned in, but this satire reminds me of him.

Don’t matter if it is satire, in light of all I’ve seen and heard of Mr. Obama, I stand by my comment.

It's Arizona Republic... I forgot.

That's funny, and probably pretty close to the mark.
