How old is John McCain?
Lone Star Times ^ | 04/18/08 | David Benzion

John McCain was born on August 29th, 1936.

So here’s an idiotic lefty “attack” ad designed to spook all of us into into freaking out over how old that actually is. (YouTube link at source article)

Among the items mentioned, the ad notes that John McCain is older then…

OK, smart-a**, that sword cuts both ways; here’s my list of things John McCain is older than.

I’m all for change and progress… but some of what’s “new” since 1936 hasn’t been an unqualified improvement, and there’s nothing wrong with preserving (or trying to recover) the good while getting rid of the bad and embracing the future.

So by all means, if the Democrats want to have a debate over what John McCain is older than, let’s have it.

I suspect a lot of folks haven’t had to wait until 2008 to finally find something about America to be proud of.

You can’t say anything negative about Obama without being called racist or about Hillary because that’s sexist, but guess there is no problem among dems saying that someone’s age should disqualify them.

BTW, seems like the Pope is having pretty good trip in US and he’s 10 years older.

I watched him on TV this morning deplaning, coming down those steps. Dang, he was moving. I can't move that fast, and he has 20 years on me.

And:

Ted Bloato Boozo Kennedy is not older than our memory of Chappaquiddick.
Hillary is not older than our recollection of her criminal behavior on the Watergate Committee and in the White House.
Bob Byrd is not older than our memory of his KKK days, during which he probably ordered and/or participated in lynchings.
There’s more, but if you don’t get the point, it’s moot.

I think the age thing may be important. Look how fast the Presidency aged Clinton and Bush. And they are a heckuva lot younger than McCain is now.

Jeez, we have Baby Boomers turning 65 -- are they gonna think "This guy is 7 years older than me! No way is he competent!"

OTOH every Baby Boomer is older than Obama - are they going to think "I'm past it, let the kid run things"

(I guess that isn't really OTOH)

Is one of the presidential candidates too Black? He is 50% more Black than I am. Or, if your preference is toward prejudice against Whites, he's 50% too White.

Is one of the presidential candidates too X chromosome rich? This candidate has 2.2% more X chromosomes than I have. This is an even greater excess of X chromosomes than the % of excess possessed by people with Klinefelters Syndrome. Those suffering from Klinefelters frequently display deficits in executive functions. Should someone with possible executive difficulties be President?

Silly prejudices? Yes. But not sillier than a prejudice against age, which apparently is acceptable to liberals.

Of course - a case in point that should not be made is Ol’ Jimmah Carter (age 84) wandering around the earth making a damn fool of himself.

Not pertinent. Jimmy was making a fool of himself when he was 52 and staying in DC.
