Obama’s “Bridge” is Crumbling

For those who have been paying close attention to the gap between the rhetoric of Obama during the incipient stages of his campaign and the trickling evidence of his core political beliefs, based on his actual record as a legislator and as expressed in the recent controversies that increasingly are defining his candidacy, it was only a matter of time before the mythologizing started to wear off. As an obscure state senator from Illinois with a limited political pedigree, in Obama’s own words, the entire justification for his candidacy was that given his mixed racial ancestry, he alone was capable of bridging that which divides the nation. It was a mighty haughty presumption, but one which the media, nonetheless gobbled up — hook line and sinker. However, with each passing day, it appears that Obama’s quest is proving to be A Bridge Too Far.

From the very start, the stark contradiction inherent in Obama’s presidential aspirations was how to fill in the blanks and go beyond his vaporous and vacuous sermonizing and explain, to those who were not so easily gulled, exactly how he was going to be a national Uniter and Conciliator. In what manner was he uniquely qualified to serve in his self-anointed role? Was it his unique character? His perspicacious judgment? His experience? The grandiloquent speeches left all these questions unanswered. Now, as his acutal political philosphy is exposed and prior associations with dubious characters and reprobates comes to light, to many reasonable minds, the lofty rhetoric is starting to ring mighty hollow.

The season is still young. Media will still build him up once he secures the nominee. It takes hard hard work to expose these scumbags to ordinary voters.

Voters are generally very gullible , they need to be educated constantly.

I would not equate Obama plans as a bridge unless it is the bridge to nowhere. More likely I would equate Mr. Obamas' plan as in walking the plank (as in pirates making there captives walk the plank).

Well, that and the fact that Uncle George Soros wanted to buy his own senator. Anyone studying the 2004 senate campaign in Illinois will understand this is exactly what happened. Obama came from out of nowhere (thanks to Soros money) to win the Democrat nomination. He was handed the election by his friends in the media when a very viable Republican nominee folded like a cheap tent once it became apparent there would be a 24/7 media onslaught to knock him out of the race. Obama then cruised to election against a cardboard cutout opponent namely Alan Keyes, a very decent man but no ties to Illinois or electoral realities.
