Barack Obama believes in change. That sounds absolutely fantastic until you start asking "what, exactly, are we changing?" When it comes to you and your family's finances, the "change" Barack believes in basically means changing your money into the government's money. And while it is a given that every Democrat wants to raise taxes, Barack's plan is especially dangerous.
Barack has said he wants to raise the capital gains tax, basically a tax on profit from the sale of investments in stocks or bonds, from its current 15% to as much as 28%. When asked why a hike to 28% was planned, Barack's spokesman said, "You know, we want to double the tax without actually doubling it, which would give our opponents a resonant talking point. The 28% figure was chosen arbitrarily and for purely political reasons. A 30% tax would just be cataclysmic, a very tough pill to swallow so to speak. But 28% is still sufficiently fascist without the same hard edge. Of course it goes without saying that here on the Barack Obama campaign we love to use manipulative rhetoric to make our far-left policies sound pleasing and acceptable." (In the interest of fair journalism and full disclosure, that quote is indirect and incorporates the suppositional analysis of this article's author).

I was a strong Huckabee supporter. One of the reasons was his support of the Fair Tax (although that was not the only reason). I’m concerned that neither Senator McCain, nor the two democrats (no surprise) supports fundamental change in the tax system. If we eliminated the taxation of income, then the issue of capital gains taxation is moot. More to the point, we need to reduce the size of the government bureaucracy and the long arm of government into private lives. The IRS bureaucracy is the most Soviet-style of all the agencies of the Federal government. It’s time to do away with it. If Senator McCain would sign onto the Fair Tax, I would find it much easier to enthusiastically support him for president.
