I’m pretty sure there’s ways to change those defaults you mention, so that they won’t be a bother any longer.
Ineffective security? What version are you using? If it’s Vista then you should know that recently it came in second place to Ubuntu on internet security, Apple was hacked in minutes while Vista took three days.
Windows’ biggest letdown for me.... no multiple desktops like in most Linux distros.
Whoa, dude - chop some firewood, dig some dirt.
Go outside, at least.
Just turn it off.
So, most of your problems with Windows are actually problems with Office, right? (That aren’t even really problems, just a lack of user knowledge...)
Word and Excel are very powerful programs that try to satisfy both the casual user and the power user.
Those on the border of both type of users will often be fustrated.
I urge you to subscribe (for free!) to each of the following websites. As a subscriber, you will get an e-mail every Monday with tips...some for power users (such as Macro usage), some for casual users (how to turn borders on and off) and those in-between (like how to work with Styles).

Maybe if you brush up on your counting skills ...
Hmm only 1 of those, security, is an actual Windows issue, everything else is on the PC itself, software made for Windows, or you need to pay better attention because that’s actually how it works (like holding shift with Capslock on makes your letter not caps, which is how I jsut typed the word “caps”).
No CAPS_Lock problems in Linux (snort)
I have my own rounding function that allows scientific or accounting rounding in Access. I got it back in ‘95 when Access didn’t have one. Let me know and I’ll FReepmail it to you.
Your top five complaints?
Are you sure?
I apply some hacks to my registry to disable caps lock and I personally also disable the windows key.
I modified HKLM/system/CurrentControlSet/Control/KeyboardLayout
to make this work. You can freepMail me for details.
