Just had a B1 Bomber fly over my home at about at 1500 to 2000 feet above the ground. This is a strange place to have one of them fly over that low. There isn't an air-base nearby. There are also some 2500 to 3000 foot mountains close by, that it would likely have had to travel over or around to come by our property. It looked just like the one pictured here.
I am located in Glendale, California and the aircraft flew down the valley over the Oakmont Country Club, from the direction of La Crescenta headed toward Los Angeles.
Took place around 12:48 p.m. p.d.t.
???
Edwards AFB is just North of ya.
When I addressed the proximity of an air base nearby, it was related to the altitude. You don’t generally see that type of aircraft flying that low unless taking off or landing.
We live in the Hollywood Hills and it flew over our house at 1:01 PM...what a roar. We have witnessed fly overs because of the Rose Parade most every year. It appears that the B1’s flight path to Colorado Blvd. is directly over our house. We never tire of hearing that comforting sound.

Coming down from Edwards AFB don’t you think? I thot I heard something like that just now, in Sierra Madre. but it’s a bit later.... Maybe they are circling ???
I miss the B1s at McConnell AFB :(
Anyone who lived within 10 miles of the base routinely heard them playing with afterburners.
I kind of miss that rumble now
In the first few years I lived here, (the center of Chatham County, NC) I had a number of F-14s fly over, burning the tops off the trees. The closest Navy base is Norfolk, and they were heading South Southwest. I assume they were playing games with the Army/Air Force guys at Fort Bragg and Pope AFB.
Hasn’t been anything since 9/11. I miss them.
Thought you’d enjoy this — A co-worker just got a call from her son who works downtown on the 48th floor. He said that when the planes went by, he had to look DOWN to see them!
I’m not far from Barkesdale AFB and I see a lot of low fly-overs all the time.
We hear the B2 year also. Didn’t hear it this year though. I don’t think it passed over did it?

Oops, left out every in first try.
I really don’t know, but that would makes sense to me.
I’m sure you do. I would.
I would too. At least you had them for a while. Pretty cool.
Thats crazy in that area, cool, but crazy...
I wouldn’t doubt it. I will admit, it was hard for me to estimate their actual altitude.
BTW, you wouldn’t catch me working in the 48th floor in downtown L.A. That soul is a braver person than I.
Good for you. I enjoyed seeing it this afternoon.
Could be. I was out at that time.
We’re fairly sure it was a fly-over of Dodger stadium, game starting time around 1:05 to 1:35.
One thing is clear to me. The game didn’t start as early as I thought it had. I started listening to it around 1:45pm and the bottom half of the first inning was starting. The 1:38pm time frame may have been another fly-by. My first observation did take place right at about 12:50pm though.
“Ive got some fond memeories of that mountain range, driving through.”
In the early 50s we used to have races from Bobs on Colorado to Mt Waterman and back.
