This was strange. I heard the aircraft and looked out the window to see the B1 maneuvering through the airspace over our town.

You are not that far from Palmdale. Also, they may have been heading out over the ocean. I believe there is a high speed corridor out there so it can make a sonic boom!

It’s a B-1 out of Dyess AFB, TX, the B-1 school. Hope the student wasn’t lost.

For the brief time they had a few stationed at then-Mather AFB I used to be occasionally treated to the sight of these beauties flying over Elk Grove at near treetop level so low you could see their wingtip vortices. Made my eyes well up with pride in my country, it did.

The flight pattern was probably full(obscure movie Top Gun reference).
Any day that a B-1 is protecting your homestead is going to be a great day. Hard to believe those birds are like 30 years old.

Traveling from Palmdale the B1 would have had to rise to 5000 feet or more to go over the Angeles Crest Mountains. It was strange to me to see it at or below the mountains over La Cresenta.
It was manuvering as it went through local airspace, turning as it passed by.
It could have stayed up at around 5000 feet to pass by but didn’t.
It was low enough to make you wonder why it would be that low flying over a major population center.
Hey, I’ll bet it might have been doing a pass at Dodger Stadium. That makes sense.

They are thinking about dropping some bombs on the infield of Dodger stadium to make it smoother.

I know where they are, but I’m sticking this out alone. ;-0
Folks have properly pointed out that it’s opening day at Dodger stadium. I’m sure it was a fly-over.
