For Jeremiah Wright -- (Rich White Girl rant)

I heard your sermons, Mr. Wright. You say your people have suffered for 300 years. You say that taxicabs pass you by. You blame rich white men for your woes. You think nobody ever said that Hillary Clinton was not white enough.
Well here is my story, Mr. Wright. I was raised by rich white men. They gave me love, they taught me about God. And they sent me to public school where young black men pawed at my hair because it was silky, they said. Later I would be mugged, robbed, beaten and molested by young black men. Apparently my only crime was being white.
Taxicabs never pass me by, you think. No, they don't. They pick me up and ride around the block over and over pretending they are lost. They love cranking their meters for a rich white girl.
I remember when Hillary Clinton was ridiculed for not being a Daughter of the American Revolution. She was not white enough, not pure enough. Uppity white nativists called her a Hillbilly from Arkansas. I know, because I was one of them.
America is by no means free of sin. But through her cause of Liberty, America is turning Human Rights Abuse on its head. There is an inverse relationship between Freedom and Human Rights Abuse; did you know that, Mr. Wright? It is true because power kills. The less freedom citizens have, the more they suffer and die. Abraham Lincoln knew this. He allowed for the restoration of dignity to the individual.
I listened to your words, Mr. Wright, and I was stunned. I live in the inner city where working class adults of all colors share in a mutuality of respect. Our children are colorblind. My family worships at a Catholic church which, in America, is a mosaic to behold. We share in the word and in the word made flesh, and even the harshest of truths are spoken in love.
I had no idea that blacks in America thought as you do and simmer as you do. I had no idea that the man who might become my president has been sprinkled for twenty years with your venom. And you have been inciting not only Obama but Oprah also. My God, how naive we have all been. We thought that a vote for Obama would be a vote for unity. Only a few weeks ago, we were perplexed by the comments of Michelle Obama. But we are perplexed no more.
There are so many questions in my mind for you, Mr. Wright, but for now I remain shocked and saddened. And I am tired... tired of this never-ending atonement which would surely not end if Obama were elected president.
TOPICS: Politics
KEYWORDS: barackkk; jeremiahwright; nobama; obama
I don't like the term "rich" and never considered myself such, just slightly privileged. But I am using the words of Obama's pastor.

to be fair....I have been awake about the real state of race relations since I left Mississippi as a young man in 1980 for New York City and encountered my first random but soon to be common hostility from young black men I ever experienced...and unsafe black parts of town....something unheard of then in the Deep South.....not so today where the same attitude now has taken hold in Dixie.
been waking up ever since.....don't plan to be a chump for anyone no matter their color or grievance
worst thing ever happened to blacks in the West was to get them to believe that the white man was both the cause of their malaise and the cure for it.
Obama...rich black man with a rich black wife are just as angry as some underprivileged ghetto kid...maybe more so.
dang if I have the answer but the cure will be generations of rebuilding and what that will take folks just can't handle....yet
I do what I can, but I'm just one charitable peckerwood...all I can do is give money personally when I can.
We deal with this at my kid's public school where the black kids bussed in from the projects come from such dang crap of a home it breaks your heart. When I go to the school, they crowd around me like I'm such a rarity....a daddy to be seen who's there for his kids. And they have to wear crappy oversized clothes in a sea of rich white kids in our neighborhood.
Think much of the vitriol like from Wright and Ms Obama will get to them in time? Shame is that a charismatic figure like Obama could help the black race in America by being candid and honest like Cosby or Elder or Sowell and try to drive a stake thru the heart of what is killing them and damaging all of us....but that takes balls and real faith in God. He should withdraw and take his neurotic spoiled wife with him. If he were white, the media would be demanding it about now.

Liberals think that racism is primarily a white problem, but as usual, they are wrong.

“the worst thing that ever happened to blacks in the West was to get them to believe that the white man was both...”
The worst thing that happened was the hate of Western civilization and its roots(religious and philosophical)by the left which spread its shameful propaganda to every kind of minorities fueling their anger and frustration.
The combination of racial and religious(islamic)hatred/frustration with the leftist ideology of war

I knew that such prejudice existed, but I never suspected how rampant it was.
It is utterly shocking, not in it’s quality, but in it’s quantity.

I can’t understand or know what it means to be a black American. I do understand the values my family taught me by example and by talking about race. During the marches in the 60’s a lot of folks in our town went with the minister of our church to march in the South with MLK and others. I remember it clearly- and the discussions we had in school, at church, around the table etc..My family taught me that all races are different- but all are equal. They used the example of ice cream- “ See how many flavors there are...but they’re ALL ICE CREAM”... It was normal for my friends and me to think that way, and to behave that way.
I’ve tested those values out in the real world- they’ve never proven false or led me to a mistaken conclusion. My friends and acquaintances are from a variety of backgrounds and skin colors. That seems normal, because this is America and we’re all American. Aren’t we?
This Jeremiah Wright and his sermons has upset and shaken me more than I can express. For the first time in my entire life, I am suddenly looking at people’s skin color, first. I didn’t realize how little attention I’ve paid to skin color, until I suddenly started seeing it, if that makes sense. Now I look around, at the store, in my neighborhood, my church and wonder...do these black people I see around me think of me the way Jeremiah Wright does? Am I hated and reviled for being a white woman by black people? Or just a couple..or a dozen..or ...?
I’ve lost my bearings.

Ask a few blacks in your area what they think of Wright's racist rants. When they answer, count how many words precede the "but." Just like asking American Muslims about Al Qaeda.

“Ive lost my bearings.”
Same here. I saw two friends this weekend at the YMCA. I was so excited to see them but kept making excuses to stay on the running track and not go into the hallway and say hello. My friends happen to be black, but I didn’t realize until later that the Jeremiah thing was upsetting me terribly and that’s why I was avoiding them.
This feels just awful. Way worse than it did was after O. J. was aquitted.
