Obama was speaking to Morgan Freeman when he said, "this guy was president before I was, this guy was God before I was." This was supposed to be a joke, but even jokes can be blasphemy, "and there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies." Is there any doubt Obama has a mouth that speaks great things? I am no "end of the world nut", but I find Obama to be a great candidate for being compared to the bible's description of the anti-christ. The anti-Christ is to be given power, "over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations." Obama says he will, "remake this country and remake the world." As President he would have the power to accomplish this goal. He desires and promotes a new type of religion that all people, even the "non-believers" can be a part of, "What our deliberative, pluralistic democracy demands is that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values." The anti-christ will, "open his mouth in blasphemy" against "them that dwell in heaven": Obama says he wants to, "create a Kingdom right here on Earth." I say I am not a "end of the world nut" because there are descriptions of the anti-christ that don't apply to Obama. The first is, "his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast." One could say that a failed assassination attempt would prove this passage correct, especially since, "power was given unto him to continue forty and two months," after receiving the wound. That's three and a half years, and a presidential term is four years. But descriptions of the anti-christ's power over the world don't really apply to Obama, "and all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him." The bible also says something about the anti-christ that Obama hasn't done, "and it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them." So Obama clearly isn't the literal description of the anti-christ. But something about his campaign and his supporters rubs me the wrong way. His words are also too messianic to be ignored. For now, I'd say he's a watered down wannabe of the anti-christ.
I was watching Obama talk last night, and the more I watched him, the more creepier he looked. His ears looked pointy, and his chin looked straight and pointy. His eyes were starting too look gloomy and tired. I swear, it looked like he was morphing into some kind of demon.
I hate that,...it always happens when nobody else is around and we're the only ones standing in front of the mirror. 0;^)
I was wondering yesterday.
On the (off) chance Obama might actually have America’s best interests in mind (yes I know, that’s not really evident) - there is the small possibility an Obama presidency could make Russia or China more a focus of the fundies - provided our own , ahem, governmental agencies have adequately ramped up our ability to enact change.
Or he’s the anti-Christ. One of those.
“Obama the Anti-Christ?”
Nope, just a commie.
Koo-koo-nut.
Just Say No!
“and if they got wound up over a sliver of a similar comment, then this should have been equally provocative to them.”
It would be but Obama isn’t a Mormon.
Obama says he wants to “create a kingdom right here on earth.” We know about Obama’s leftist, socialist church. I wonder about the eschatology of his Chicago pastor and church.
The Amillennial or Postmillennial (”Kingdom now”) eschatology is made to order for antichrist. Instead of looking for the second coming of Christ, who will, indeed, bring with him “a kingdom right here on earth” (the Millennial, Rev. 20), these types of eschatology apply Christ’s future kingdom to the here and now.
Amillennialism played a huge role during the middle ages. The eschatology of the RCC is Amillennial. They ruled Europe for a thousand years in “a kingdom right here on earth.”
Where did Obama get his “create a kingdom right here on earth” from? Out of thin air? I doubt it. Does anybody know the eschatology of his Chicago pastor and church?
If this is Obama’s eschatolgy, he is a most dangerous individual.
Oh, but since he's a religious minority (United Church of Christ) with less members than the 2% Mormons, that's OK to target. [Again, I want to make it clear that the UCC isn't worth defending on a lot of grounds; I'm just doin' a consistency check]
“[Again, I want to make it clear that the UCC isn’t worth defending on a lot of grounds; I’m just doin’ a consistency check]”
We don’ need no steenkin’ conseestency!
>I am no “end of the world nut”, but I find Obama to be a great candidate for being compared to the bible’s description of the anti-christ.<
Works for me.
you’re killin me :-)
Let’s see how he does with negotiations with Taliban and Alqaida. Then we’ll decide if he is qualified for anti-christ.
I don’ think Obama has quite what it takes to be the Antichrist. He’s a 555 in a 666 universe.
Why is the anti-christ always somebody important? Why isn’t Joe Schmoe the anti-christ?
“Why is the anti-christ always somebody important? Why isnt Joe Schmoe the anti-christ?”
Joe Schmoe doesn’t get roaring applause when he says, “I am going to remake the world”
He hasn’t had the chance to do those things that he hasn’t done yet. Just give him time.
True, he get’s Mrs. Schmoe saying “Yeah, right... how about getting a job first...”
I believe Muslims are the decendants of Ishmael, son of Abraham and Haagar, the Egyptian maid to Sarah.
