JUST SAY NO : To John McCain
David Osborne ^ | 02 Feb 2008 | David Osborne

Posted on 02/02/2008 5:16:12 AM PST by davidosborne

MY FELLOW CONSERVATIVE AMERICANS…

It has been some time since I wrote an “Open Letter to the American People” http://www.DavidOsborne.net

I am currently on vacation after my return home from Iraq, and have been watching the presidential race very carefully.. I am VERY disturbed when I hear conservatives say that “John McCain is the front runner….. so we need to support him” I SAY --- JUST SAY NO…

Whenever you hear a conservative try to prop up John McCain as the “Front Runner” – JUST SAY NO !

When you hear a conservative say that John McCain is the “only one that can beat the HildaBEAST” --- JUST SAY NO !

While Mike Huckabee is not my first choice I take Duncan Hunter’s endorsement of him very seriously, and I feel that we as REAL conservatives.. evidenced by our support for Duncan Hunter… should rally behind the candidate that Duncan Hunter has endorsed if for no other reason simply because of his endorsement.. Remember the reason that you supported Duncan Hunter in the first place? Prior to my support of Duncan Hunter.. I have NEVER supported a presidential candidate that I agree with across the board on nearly EVERY issue.. while I don’t have as strong of an agreement with Huckabee as I do Duncan Hunter, I have to admit that a LOT of my support of Huckabee is based solely on Duncan Hunter’s endorsement.

TOWARD VICTORY..

Feel free to pass this on.

I am not ready to finalize my position on either Huck or Mitt. I must in my mind resolve yet unsettled issues as which one from a broad viewpoint would reach out for the best choices to form their administration, as well as which will be more conservative leaning in their choice of judges.
As far as I am concerned it is important to figure out who will be on the payroll. The mix in Congress has just as much effect on what path the country will go as who is elected president.
Who is the best administrator. For the next ten years or so we need a POTUS who will not turn their backs on using military force to fight the GWOT.
Babies will continue to be killed in the womb, regardless of who becomes POTUS.
But who will keep another 9/11 from coming to past, and who will strive to go after the Islamist radical groups world wide and who will confront China and Russian in their quest to become super powers, both from a military as well as commercial view point.
The only guy I saw really in the position to confront these issues was Duncan. He had the guts to take a solid position, and most probably follow through against the grain. I don't see the rest of them fitting his boots.
Bottom line is, if McCain becomes the candidate to run against either of the clowns on the other side, I am going to vote for McCain. This crap not voting or voting for the opposite side is a bunch of BS. It serves no purpose.
What serves a purpose is for grass root levels to get sufficient real conservatives back on the Hill, so that those who propose and make the laws favor our agenda.
We can ill afford for a democrat to take the presidency.
Food for thought. As more of the minorities that for ages on, have depended on the socialist system to provide food on their tables emerge, it is going to become harder to elect solid conservative performers.
One must consider how America operates at this point in time, with quick ill informed and lacking in detail news via. the Internet, as well as news papers and the boob tube.
Masses are so easily swayed into a shallow opinion. To many people love the Clintons, after all the crap they have been shown to have pulled off for so many years.
At least I know somewhat where I stand with a McCain. I also know how much worst it would be with either of the demowits to take charge. McCain will be strong on National Defense. And to me that takes precedence over how many babies will be aborted in this juncture in time, who snuggles up to who on the Hill.

“...2. Romney CANNOT win in dixie (FACT!)...”

Hey. Romney can win in Dixie in the fall. Y’all gonna vote for the Hillshill or Obammie? No way. When this started Romney couldn’t win anywhere, could he. Who was he? Now, he’s the only thing standing between us and a Hugo Chavez-style leftie dictatorship or our crazy uncle Juan from Mehicco. Y’all don’t want that, do ya? Don’t be a glove. Be a Mitten. Give him a chance down south. Get sMitten.

Mitt Romney could win in the South if he had the right running mate. Furthermore, he's the candidate who can best hold together the overall GOP coalition. Holding that coalition together is important even if we don't win the presidency. We need to keep Republicans going to the polls in order to hold Congress.

Do you vote on Tuesday? If the race is over by the time you vote, you could vote for any other candidate as a protest in the primary.

McCain is too old, but he is no Bob Dole. Just for the record, Hillary!08 is also too old and should also go home and stay there. She can go home with McCain for all it matters.

When he endorsed Huckabee, Mr. Hunter clearly stated that each of his supporters was free to make whatever choice he saw as the best. For me, that choice is Mitt Romney. Mike Huckabee's position on the illegal alien scholarships still bothers me. His fawning over McCain bothers me more. Now is the time for conservatives to rally to Mr. Romney to stop McCain from destroying our party.

“Me and mine are writing in Hunter’s name. He’s our only option.”

That’s your option for a McCain win. Why vote for someone who isn’t running any longer?

I just called Dr. Richard Land’s radio show to say that not only does Senator McCain support human embryonic stem cell research, but according to the late Congressman Henry Hyde, John McCain wanted to WEAKEN the pro-life plank of the Republican Party platform, so he is different behind the scenes, from the picture he tries to portray to us.

Here’s contact and other info on Bill Cunningham’s show from when I called the show.

If you want someone who is strong on national defense, I suggest you think again about supporting McAmnesty. Not only does he support porous borders, but he also wants bring the terrorists to our shores by closing Gitmo, and to give those same terrorists free lawyers, access to our courts, and discovery rights that will either reveal our secret intelligence capabilities, or allow them to be released here on US soil until we can schedule deportation hearings (which will also get nowhere if the government won’t reveal secret sources)

I do not agree that he is strong on national defense. Keeping the terrorists at bay is as important as McCain’s dislike of Rumsfeld - and that dislike of the former SecDef is the ground upon which we all repeat that McCain is “strong on national defense.”

Opening our borders, letting illegal aliens and terrorists is not being strong on national Defense. It is the opposite.

For English Press 1. Para Espanol primo numero dos... Think about a service member's life in danger. How would you feel about waterboarding a terrorist that held the keys to his/her life. Or, what if he/she was a prisoner of war...how would you feel about McLame and Scary Kerry blocking MIA/POW legislation then. Or the declaration service members captured in Iraq are "hostages" vice POWS. Though the terrorists don't follow Geneva, the "hostage" designation technically denies the service member's protection. You are right McCain is strong on National Defense....he’s weak on supporting us. We are having all kinds of fun times here coddling the terrorists in Iraq. Now, I don’t advocate outright torture, but I do disagree with full night’s sleep, three square meals, television...etc. THEY ARE TERRORISTS. THEY ATTACKED US. SOMETHING McLostInTheDark can’t seem to fathom. Where did our moral high-ground get Nick Berg? Or any of the other Americans captured? The terrorists get “top notch” medical treatment upon arrival at one of our facilities. They get treated better than we do. Now, I’m real honest-to-God sorry about what happened to Mr McCain, but there is no reason to go overboard and take it out on this generation of service members. I’ll write in for Ann Coulter before I vote McCain. And I’ll be another statistic in the military’s retention problem. 4 tours here with McCain on the sideline aiding and abetting the “civil” liberties of terrorists. I agree on finalizing between Mitt and Huck. The bottom line is we need to stop McCain before it comes to that. We are going to have to look long and hard at the other two...or pray. Because its not going to be better militarily if McCain is nominated/elected.
