The Case for Duncan Hunter

Conservatives ought to be frustrated and angry with the current top tier candidates for the Republican nomination. Giuliani, Thompson, and McCain all seem to be unreliable conservatives on important social and policy issues. Mitt Romney, the one seemingly reliable conservative has flip-flopped on a number of important social issues. This is exactly why the conservative movement should be looking more closely at Congressman Duncan Hunter from California's 52nd district. Congressman Hunter is a staunch supporter of winning the war against radical Islam, border security, and is friendly to religious and socially conservative voters.

Duncan Hunter has been a staunch supporter of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Hunter served in Vietnam and earned a bronze star. His son, Duncan D. Hunter has served two tours of duty in Iraq. What is most admirable about Hunter's position on the war is his consistency. Unlike the entire Democratic Party and a few of his Republican colleagues, Congressman Hunter realizes that Iraq policy should not be swayed by public opinion and public pressure has not swayed his position on Iraq. Furthermore, with over two decades of service on the House Armed Services Committee, Duncan Hunter has "walked the walk" in terms of supporting the military. Republicans know the importance of stopping unfiltered illegal immigration and

Duncan Hunter has helped to defeat recent efforts to grant amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. The congressman from California has also built a border fence between San Diego County and Tijuana, Mexico and helped write the "Secure Fence Act." Hunter silenced border fence critics by cutting crime and drug trafficking drastically with the San Diego border wall. No other Republican candidate (besides Tom Tancredo) has such a conservative and effective record on immigration.

With a lifetime American Conservative Union rating of 92, Duncan Hunter has proved a reliable conservative. Hunter is also a family man with no personal baggage (i.e. Giuliani) and lots of experience in politics. With an extensive pro-life, pro-family message, Duncan Hunter can please the socially conservative wing of the Republican Party. GOP voters need to wake up and realize that this next election is pivotal to the future of the war on radical Islam. Duncan Hunter is an authentic conservative (of the Reagan mold), a hawk on defense and immigration, and would be wildly popular with conservative and evangelical voters.

The next election is first and foremost about standing up to Islamic thugs and fanatics murdering our soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Electing a hawkish Republican would send a powerful message to the mullahs in Tehran. Duncan Hunter is not only electable to the GOP base but would be a boon to our efforts at defeating Al Qaeda in Iraq, Afghanistan, and across the world.

In these times, one can go from a virtual unknown to a household name over night. Just ask Sen. Larry Craig!:)

I actually had heard about Bill Clinton way back in the early eighties. It was an article in Reader’s Digest about this young Governor who was redefining the Democrat party in Arkansas. The author turned out to be right. Unfortunately, Clinton redefined it right into the gutter.

Exactly!! That is why I have extreme hope for Duncan Hunter appearing out of nowhere to take the nomination.

Did anyone here the caller in the third hour of Rush today? He was talking about the mayor’s race in Indianapolis. It seems that the winner came out of nowhere, scored an upset with very little money or name recognition. Strictly a grassroots effort. I could only get bits and pieces of the call but I immediately related it back to Duncan Hunter. I went to Rush’s website tonight but he didn’t highlight that call so I will have to replay the program to get the whole story. It was great at any rate!

Hunter’s futures are a bargain at Intrade. He’s at 0.1 and Fred is at ~5.5. Fred has slipped ~30 points in the last few weeks, and there’s a new contract for Fred.Dropout at 5%, with a 35% ask price. There’s heavy interest in shorting Fred right now.

If I had the money, I’d buy a bunch of Hunter futures at 0.1 because if he only hits 5% I’d still make 50X return on investment, and give most of that money to Team Hunter.

Many are convinced the better choice for CIC ought have served in the Arms they’d ultimately have the duty to command.

Rudy hasn’t.
Duncan has.
Fred hasn’t.
Duncan has.
Hillery hasn’t.
Duncan has.

No question that as time passes, his seriousness on issues and the quality of his character makes him the only conservative choice!

We know we have the best of the lot... by far! :)

Hunter's determination and committment to stay in the race and not retreat at the incessant harping of the leftist media's (and some FReepers) insistance that he's a beaten man, ought to wake the conservative masses from their apathetic sleep and inspire them to support his conservative cause.

Hunter knows how to STAY THE COURSE!
