I need to know for myself what kind of a candidate Duncan Hunter is, so yes I contacted the campaign and it was worth it. I got a lovely email in reply. And after that you got some lovely posts from Jim Robinson. Do we need to post them?

I know what kind of a candidate Duncan Hunter is and I know what kind of a freeper you are. Duncan Hunter’s campaign said they couldn’t control what freepers did. A lovely man who can get things done. Wrong. Doesn’t bode well for a CIC and maybe not even for a Secretary of Defense.

“Opinions expressed on Free Republic are those of the individual posters and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Free Republic or its operators.

Please enjoy our forum, but also please remember to use common courtesy when posting and refrain from posting personal attacks, “

Jim Robinson had the courage to send you a message, a fair warning. Duncan Hunter did not display that kind of courage so perhaps he wants to get elected more than he wants to do what is right. He doesn’t agree with your tactics but can’t figure out anything to say to you.

I did. No reason to do it again, as he doesn’t know what to say.

I think you are joking, right? What did you expect Hunter to do? What could he do? You think messages to pissant=courage? You are seriously going to be arrogant enough to say a man who served his country with honor, who put his life on the line, has no courage?

Hunter is busy legislating and running as the best conservative candidate for President. He hasn’t time to referee debates or babysit FRedheads with hurt feelings.

Up till now, I had no idea who contacted the campaign and complained. That is something I would think one would keep to themselves. That is the work of a whining little tattletale. No offense intended, but in the future, your comments will be discounted by default. Never let it be said I am without courage. Pissant? You be nice and stop having different opinions!

I had the courage to say it. Duncan Hunter didn’t do as a campaigner what his supporters have done. Some candidates have gotten rid of volunteers who engage in scurrilous tactics.

Pissant likes to talk about me in a slimy way.

My question to Duncan Hunter was not what are you going to do about this, but are you the kind of person to approve of this. They said no they did not approve of it. I did not ask them to do a thing. That information was volunteered.

I can’t help it what the campaign staff chose to say. But it was enlightening. Supporters were saying what a great and perfect candidate was Duncan Hunter. I wanted to know if that was true. You want people to vote for DH based upon ignorance? I guess so.

I’m patiently waiting before making any conclusions, but I’d like to hear ALL of the candidates positions on things like:

• Kelo
• Law of the Sea
• Agenda 21
• Global Warming (cap and trade)
• etc.

I do share your skepticism. So far, I haven’t heard any of the candidates expound much on the subjects.

“OTOH, Fred is considered a credible conservative candidate for POTUS by many folks.”

So was Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter.

“You know, we could analyze the record presented in the thread and determine whether Hunter or Thompson is better in this instance.”

I agree. We need to refocus. This article provides insight into the priorities of both men. Looking forward to followup columns from this writer.

“Or better yet, they contacted the Hunter campaign to complain about me. That’s classic. LOL”

That’s what liberals do. Can’t win the arguement so they want to shut down all debate. That’s also what McCain-Feingold does. Hunter voted against that, didn’t he?

This is over the top ridiculous and serves absolutely no purpose. What the heck is it that pissant has done that is of any consequence one way or other to you? Hunter didn't pick him. So what?

Hunter answered most of your questions in the interview he did here on FR. Search duncanhunter.
He mentions his dismay of the Kelo decision on his website. He sponsored legislation against the SPP.

"Well, it certainly won’t be aboard the FRaudhead Express to Leno’s couch"

Speaking of which....

"At 7:57 p.m. Eastern time Wednesday [Sept. 5th], while taping "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" for broadcast later in the evening, Fred Thompson finally said: "I'm running for president of the United States."

Aside from the fact that he announced the same day as the debate and so he COULD HAVE participated, making the announcement on the 5th blows this necessarily precise timeline out of the water, does it not? A Sept. 5th announcement only takes him to the end of Sept., the 30th to be exact...NOT Oct. 1st., and NOT the 4th quarter.

"If, for example, he becomes a candidate September 6 and files his FEC form declaring his candidacy 15 days later on September 21, he can file his "Statement of Organization" 10 days after that on October 1 which would take him into the 4th Quarter. He may then argue that since his Statement of Organization wasn’t filed until the 4th Quarter, no report would be due until January 31, 2008. This will take him past New Hampshire, Iowa, South Carolina, Nevada, Florida and perhaps Ohio which is threatening to move up its primary date as well."

http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=21677

"So perhaps now you can understand why Friends of Fred picked September 6, 2007, of all days, to make Fred's official announcement. It's the earliest possible date which allows Fred to get in the race, yet not have to disclose how much he raised in donations until the end of January."
