Those dirty communist bastards. This phrase and similarly worded curses are being uttered by more Americans each day as the headlines in normally apologist media outlets are documenting case after case of Chinese malfeasance this summer of 2007.
Headlines such as More Tainted Chinese Toothpaste found, Mattel: 9M More Chinese-made Toys Recalled, Melamine in Pet Food may not be Accidental, and more ominously China Warns America It May Sell US Treasury Bonds are perking up American ears. Nothing rattles the average American consumer like stories of beloved family pets dropping like flies, or Polly Pockets and Little People posing a danger to our real little people. All those bloody knuckles caused by poorly made socket wrenches are nothing compared to liver failure and lead poisoning. US consumers are rattled and angry.
The investor class is also worried. As our political leaders gingerly attempt to address Chinas currency devaluation and trade surplus with our country, powerful communist apparatchiks (yes, I know its a Russian term) are hinting at a US treasury bill dump, a dump that could have severe financial consequences. China has pegged the value of the yuan to the dollar. Instead of floating in a natural balance against the dollar like other major currencies, this peg allows the Chinese imports to our shores to maintain their relative cheapness, not only here, but on the world market. It is Chinas stated goal to leapfrog the US as the #1 economic powerhouse in the world, and undercutting US manufacturing is a very comfortable part of that plan. It has given them a staggering $233 billion trade surplus with the USA in 2006, a total that will easily be surpassed in 2007. But more likely than not, US negotiators will be reigned in and the status quo will continue, for now.
But how did we get here? Why have politicians and business leaders in the US allowed us to arrive at a place where a communist enemy holds such leverage over our economy? A place where a few words uttered by a respected Chinese academic can rattle our markets? A place where we have allowed substandard food and materials onto our shores for years? And for that matter, a place where we pretend there is really only one China Taiwan being a renegade province and such? The full answers are well beyond the scope of this article, but the short version is this: greed and a lack of strategic thinking.
The free-trade lobby will tell us that opening China up to free trade will bring about the desired political reforms and lead to a partnership. The problem with this argument is that it has been made for the last 25 years and relations have not improved, rather, they have deteriorated. But the siren song of the Chinese comfort women is too much for big business to resist. Come, build your new plant in China. We have cheap labor and negligible regulations Oh, and by the way, we will be co-owners with you and you will need to share your manufacturing secrets but hey, you will still make more money.
Unfortunately, President Bush has his hands full in Iraq and Afghanistan, and is hesitant to tackle the problem. His legacy is tied to success in the muslim world now and a financial showdown with China is not in the making. The majority democrat party is certainly yapping about China (dead pets, you know), but their leading candidate was bought and paid for with communist dollars.
Scanning the political horizon for 2008, there is only one man standing that vows to put an end to this entire charade, Duncan Hunter. Duncan Hunter is, and has been, a Dragon Hunter.
Just as his mentor, Ronald Wilson Reagan, decided to change the rules for how the USA dealt with the Soviet Union - from détente to we win, they lose- Hunter is demanding a new set of unmarked playing cards for this high stakes poker match with China. The underlying philosophy shared by Reagan and Hunter is unabashed anti-communism. Whether it is the Lenin/Stalin model or that of Mao Tse-Tung, a communist deserves nothing short of defeat in Hunters view. Having entered office in 1980 with the Gipper, Hunter was instrumental in the House of Representatives for strong-arming through Reagans tough, anti-communist agenda. And being a Vietnam combat veteran who fought Chinese backed stooges, Congressman Hunter has several lifetimes worth of disdain for such an ideology. That disdain was only reinforced in the aftermath of our withdrawal from Vietnam, in the skull-filled killing fields and the rat infested re-ducation camps. A brief China-Vietnam war in the late 1970s did not change his view of either side.
Duncan Hunters record of opposition to China has been as consistent as his opposition to abortion. He was nearly successful in stopping Permanent Most Favored Nation status from being gifted to China by Bill Clinton and the US congress in 2000. As Hunter mentioned in an August 13 interview on the Free Republic website:
All of the Senators presently running for president, including Mr. Thompson, Brownback and McCain voted for Permanent Most Favored Nation status for Communist China, which I strongly oppose. I voted against PMFN with Red China because the Chinese are clearly using US trade dollars to buy ships, warplanes and missiles, some of which are clearly targeted on American forces and interests.
Based on that statement, it is obvious Hunter does not use the bleeding heart, liberal argument to oppose China. He uses clear eyed realism centered around the defense of our nation. And his opposition did not start in 2000, and it has only intensified since. In 1998, Hunter sponsored a bill to strip away all satellite and satellite technology sales to China. President Clinton even signed it, due in part to pressure from the scandal investigations looking at laundered Chinese money in democrat coffers.
In June 2000, Hunter introduced the Nuclear Secrets Safety Act in response to continued Chinese espionage and weak procedures for securing classified information in our research labs and facilities. His consistent anti-China voting record shows that he opposed the sale of US dual-use technology equipment to China (including supercomputers) and fought to give the Pentagon veto power over such sales. He voted to deny US participation in cooperative research and development, and to prohibit Red China from ownership and control of any businesses involved in defense related systems or services. For decades, Hunter has supported robust arms sales to Taiwan, including missile defenses. Through the late 1990s, it was Duncan Hunter who led the fight against allowing China owned Cosco to lease the port at Long Beach, CA. He simply did not and does not trust them.
In a 1996 article Hunter penned for Knight Ridder, he wrote:
Advocates of continued Most-Favored-Nation trade status for China claim that this is a ''normal'' part of U.S. international relations and that China hasn't done anything odd enough to be an exception.
China's friends seem to have adopted a rather jaded view of normality.
Are thinly veiled threats to attack Los Angeles, like those made by China during the recent Taiwan crisis, ''normal'' diplomatic discourse?
Was Beijing's attempt to influence elections on Taiwan by military demonstrations and missile firings ''normal?''
Was the movement of two U.S. carrier battlegroups to positions of potential confrontation with China a ''normal'' gesture of friendly relations?
Or, do these actions indicate a strategic relationship with China more on a par with Cuba or North Korea, countries with which we do not extend MFN?
We didn't grant MFN to the Soviet Union either, when it was aiming missiles at U.S. cities Renewing China's MFN status without a strategic quid pro quo would be another sign of relative American weakness.
Alas, Hunter failed in his bid to stop his own party from supporting the misnamed free trade nonsense in 2000. Why is it nonsense, you ask? From Hunters point of view, there are three main reasons.
First, you can never trust a communist! They are not honest partners in trade, international relations, or in any other endeavor. Hunter has been prophetic in this regard. The blatant dishonesty from the Chicoms is on par with the best fraudulence the Soviets regularly coughed up. China consistently uses bribes, much like a third world nation: Bribes for getting our business and requiring bribes for getting theirs. They demand offsets. If you want to sell airplanes, for example, you must allow them to manufacture parts (offsets), or in Airbus case, whole planes, giving up valuable industrial secrets to help China close the technology gap. Hunter calls offsets "a strategic threat to the U.S. defense industrial base."
They cheat. As evidenced by the recent products discovered to contain worthless toxic fillers. They lie, as demonstrated by numerous cases where they purchased our high-tech goods for civilian use, only to have such equipment disappear into some PLA black hole. They steal, as clearly shown by hundreds of cases of corporate and governmental espionage in recent years; everything from biomedical research to our nuclear secrets. They also pirate roughly 95% of our software and other intellectual property, depriving US businesses of billions in sales annually.
Second, China has a strategy to become a superpower, to surpass the US in industrial, military and economic might. The world can ill afford to have the US lose influence around the globe to a communist power. All of the underhanded activities mentioned above are designed to give them the upper hand. They recently showed off their technological prowess to the world by blowing a satellite out of orbit. As Mr. Hunter notes, they have purchased with our trade dollars the most sophisticated weapons from Russia. They are using every method imaginable to obtain technical and manufacturing expertise.
While China does not adhere to an USSR-like vision of empire, they nonetheless have sought to dominate Asia and blunt US influence in the region. They have every intention of re-uniting with Taiwan, by force, if necessary. They are using Soviet style practices to marginalize Tibetans. And they have sold nuclear technology to rouge regimes across the globe. China has consistently used its position on the UN Security Council to block US and Western initiatives.
Third, China sides with our enemies. They have courted everyone from the Sudanese genocidal rulers to Fidel Castro to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in Iran. They prop up North Koreas freakish leader, not because they like or respect the little dictator, but because he is a thorn in the side of the United States (and he makes a hole-in-one each golf outing). They have feted and made deals with the megalomaniac in Venezuela. And, as an added finger in Americas eye, they have been selling armaments that make their way to the terrorists in Iraq.
They are playing a game of bluff with the US, confident of our cowardice. They brazenly held some of our airmen in 2001, demanding an apology from us, for their own pilots foolishness. While President Bush muddled through it reasonably well, the Chicoms would certainly not have tested a man like Duncan Hunter, who immediately demanded a cutoff of all trade with the communist regime. As Hunter succinctly stated back then, the fact is, while we trade with China, they prepare for war.
So what is Hunters solution to the China dilemma?
First, he proposes to treat them as the communist adversary that they are. That means no more generous, unbalanced trade deals. All trade deals will be reciprocal. No more Chinese tariffs on US products, if they expect the same. Second, put a halt to high technology sales of dual use equipment. If it is a potential breech of security, it stays on our shores. And from our side, Hunter wants to eliminate taxes on our manufacturing exporters. As he stated on Free Republic, I would reduce taxes on domestic manufacturing to zero or as close thereto as possible and immediately stop Chinas cheating on trade that is moving high-paying jobs offshore. Hunter will also demand that China float its currency. He currently has a bill in Congress that would require the President to force China to do just that. Pirated software, espionage, and other nefarious activity will be treated with harsh sanctions. Hunter understands something the Wall Street Journal crowd does not; that China needs us as much or more than we need them. After all, many other low wage countries exist that can produce TVs, microwaves, and GI Joes, but there is no one to replace the USA as Chinas main market for their crap .er..goods. Hunter fully intends to use this leverage, leverage that others are afraid to even contemplate.
On the military equation, Hunter promises to increase spending on our defense budget to near Reagan levels. With two major battlefronts in Afghanistan and Iraq, our current defense budget is still roughly only 3.5% of GDP. Hunter is calling for an immediate increase to about 4.5% to 5% of GDP, paid for by a freeze in discretionary, non-military spending and cutting billions in domestic bureaucracy and programs. Hunter has been on the leading edge in his support for military technology, on everything from bunker busting bombs, to stealth aircraft to airborne laser weapons. Duncan Hunter will insist that America lead the way in space based weaponry, to stay far ahead of the Chinese (and the Russians). From his days as Reagans point man to the present, Hunter has been and continues to be the most stalwart supporter of missile defenses (space, land, sea, and air based) and offensive firepower.
Hunter has no misty eyed sentiment that one day soon the US and China will sing Kumbaya together and advance world peace. That can only happen after the communist party collapses.
Indeed, Hunter intends to grab Red China by the throat.
Hunter wrote the following in a 2001 San Diego Union Tribune article:
In March of 1941, Rep. Carl Anderson from Minnesota warned America about the danger of arming potential adversaries. He said then that the chances of war with Japan were 50-50, and that if our Navy were to meet the Japanese, we would encounter a fleet which was built with American steel and fueled with American petroleum. A few months later at Pearl Harbor, 21 American ships were sunk, 300 planes were destroyed, and 5,000 Americans were killed and wounded by a Japanese fleet that was indeed built with American steel and fueled with American petroleum.
Why is it that we still have not learned from this valuable lesson? Today, China is using its $80 billion trade surplus with the United States to build a formidable military. Tragically, the weapons China procures are targeted toward the very Americans who supplied them through their trade dollars.
In a 2004 Armed Services Committee hearing, Hunter said:
First, the balance of power is changing across the Taiwan strait. China continues modernizing its military with the most advanced technology available from Russia. Taiwan, on the other hand, continues cutting its defense budget. These diverging military trends highlight a political problem, in which China constantly seeks to strangle more assertive demonstrations of Taiwanese democracy, lest the people of Taiwan decide that they dont want to surrender their rights in order to become part of greater China. Those trends are accelerating, undermining the fragile standoff that has secured peace across the strait for most of the last fifty years.
While we seek diplomatic means of solving these problems, there should be no doubt that the military stands on the front lines in ensuring that they dont get out of hand. We absolutely must be ready, willing, and able to defeat aggression in the region in order to deter it. Everyone must know that force is not an acceptable way of resolving Taiwans status.
And finally, in the July 2007 GOP candidates debate, Hunter was asked by Foxs Wendell Goler if the billions in American debt held by the Chinese constitutes a security threat. He replied:
If we dont do anything about it, Wendell, it will be a security threat. And the other thing that will be a security threat is the fact that China is buying ships, planes and military equipment with hundreds of billions of American trade dollars coming there way. They bought the Sovremmeny class missile destroyers from the Russians that were designed to do one thing: Kill American Aircraft carriers. So there IS a security threat as we allow China to cheat on trade, they are arming with American trade dollars and they are lending our money back to us. Some people say they will treat us right if get into a crunch. And I say yeah, just like they treated that guy in front of the tank in Tiananmen Square. It is time for us to enforce trade rules with China, to create a two way street, not a one way street and that will give us much less exposure on the economic side that youre talking about, and the security side.
Indeed, Duncan Hunter is the Dragon Hunter. The only one left.
Dragon Hunter.
I like that!

Ethical and medical concerns have often been raised regarding organ transplants in China over issues that include the use of organs of prisoners on death row and uncertain postsurgery health-care, experts said.
The National Traditional Chinese Medicine Thrombus Treatment Center in Shenyang City. According to a former nurse who worked there, the Sujiatun death camp is in an underground complex connected to this hospital.
The furnace unit on the southwest side of the hospital. There are two doors leading to the underground complex of the Sujiatun death camp. According to the witnesses, the remains of Falun Gong practitioners are incinerated here after their organs are extracted.
Mr. Zuo Zhigang, age 33, was arrested on May 30, 2001, by the Shijiazhuang City police. He was beaten to death that night at the Qiaoxi District Police Station. His corpse was covered with scars, and there were two large square-shaped holes on the back of his torso, consistent with kidney harvesting.
Mr. Ren Pengwu, age 33, was arrested by the police in Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province on February 16, 2001. Five days later, he was murdered and all his organs, from his pharynx and larynx to his penis, were removed. The authorities hastily cremated his remains that same day without his family's knowledge or consent.

On May 14, 2004, two policemen abducted Ms. Wang Yunjie while she was working in a shopping center and later sent her to the infamous Masanjia forced labor camp. To break her will and force her to renounce Falun Gong, the police tortured her every day for the next six months with beatings, hanging her in the air, depriving her of sleep, solitary confinement, forcing her to stand or squat for days at a time, etc. She was also forced to do hard labor for extended hours. In December 2002, after depriving her of sleep for many days, the police stripped her clothes and shocked her breasts with two electric batons for half and hour. They then tied her up like a ball by forcibly bending her upper body down to her legs and handcuffing her arms behind her back. While in that position, they hung her up by her wrists for seven hours. The protracted torture severely damaged her body, the electric shocks disfigured her breasts, and her left breast became infected and festered. Even then, the labor camp continued to torture her for another six months. Only when she was on the verge of death did the labor camp order her family to pay 2000 Yuan and take her home.
Mr. Wang Bin was arrested and detained at the Dongfeng Xinchun Labor Camp. On the night of September 27, 2000, five guards and prisoners beat him so severely that they broke his neck, injured his tonsils, crushed his lymph nodes, and fractured several bones. He was taken to the Daqing People's Hospital, but died in the hospital on October 4, 2000. Two doctors in the hospital removed his heart and brain. The photo shows that his body had been operated on.

Please remember the name: Sujiatun. It will one day be as infamous as Auschwitz and Dachau.
On March 8, 2006, a Chinese journalist on the run from the Chinese communist regime disclosed to Falun Gong practitioners in the United States some appalling news: a secret death camp in Sujiatun, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province in China.
According to this journalist, over 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners have been taken to Sujiatun. "I believe that once they are in they 100% cannot come back out," the journalist said. He also disclosed that there are incineration chambers and a large number of doctors there. "Why are there incineration chambers there? Why are there so many doctors inside? Certainly not for the benevolent treatment of prisoners. Something you simply cannot imagine..."
"The prisoners, the Communist Party definitely will not let them just waste food there. Why are they there then? ... They will all be murdered, and all their organs will be harvested and distributed to hospitals. The sale of human organs is a vastly profitable trade in China."
Falun Gong practitioners are not the only victims of such crimes. One week after the journalist's disclosure, a former nurse whose ex-husband had taken part in harvesting organs from Falun Gong practitioners also stepped forward to testify:
"I used to work at the Liaoning Thrombus Treatment Center, which was next to the concentration camp. My ex-husband had taken part in removing corneas from Falun Gong practitioners. This brought disaster to my family."
"In early 2001, my husband was assigned by the hospital to secretly remove corneas from Falun Gong practitioners. He hid this from me at the beginning, but slowly I sensed he was in great agony, had nightmares often, and was always stressed. After my repeated inquiries, he told me the truth in 2003."
"He knew they were Falun Gong practitioners. Every doctor who took part knew. They were told that eliminating Falun Gong was not a crime, but helping the Communist Party to do 'cleansing.' Those who were taken in on the operating tables were anesthetized. Elderly people or children were mostly used for harvesting corneas."
"At the time when my ex-husband told me about this, he could no longer bear the torment of doing such evil things, and decided to leave China to escape the horror. He said to me: you cannot possibly know my despair, because those Falun Gong practitioners were still alive. It was different from removing organs from dead people - they were alive."
"Because of this, I divorced him. I said to him: you are done with your career; you will not be able to hold a scalpel in the future."
"I know there are still Falun Gong practitioners in that hospital," this nurse said in the end. "I hope this crime can be exposed to the international society as quickly as possible, so their lives can be saved. I also hope, through my disclosure, to atone my relative's crime."
The victims are not even limited to Chinese. It is an open secret that China has become the world capital of organ transplantation, and ships human organs to nearby countries such as Thailand. Tens of thousands from different parts of the world have received organ transplants in China and Thailand, being assured that the organs have been legally obtained. How will they and their surgeons feel when they learn about the barbaric organ harvesting, even if the organs harvested from Falun Gong practitioners turn out to account for a portion of all human organs used in transplant operations? Is there a way for them to remove the doubt? Will they want to find out? Or will they bear that doubt and forever avoid mentioning "transplanted in China"?
Another doctor recently stated that extracting organs from living prisoners is common across China. How many more camps like Sujiatun exist?
It was precisely because we abhor such appalling crimes that humanity vowed "Never again!" after the shock of the Holocaust. Yet, as this vow is still ringing in the ears of Holocaust survivors, we are in for another shock - or are we? How do we explain to ourselves and our children that we have watched the systematic eradication of Falun Gong for more than six years and allowed it to escalate to the emergence of human organ harvesting factories like Sujiatun?
It is not due to a lack of information. Ever since July 1999, Falun Gong practitioners in China have been taking great risks to collect and send abroad, on a daily basis, detailed information on the extensive and severe human rights violations committed by the Chinese communist regime. Falun Gong practitioners overseas have worked their hardest to disseminate this information to governments, media, opinion leaders, the United Nations, and the general public to appeal for their attention.
It is not because the information is unsubstantiated. In the past few years, many Special Rapporteurs of the United Nations Human Rights Commission have cited in their annual reports numerous cases of torture and killing of Falun Gong practitioners by the Chinese regime. Special Rapporteur Asma Jahangir wrote in her 2003 report: "The cruelty and brutality of these alleged acts of torture defy description." On October 15, 2004, seven Special Rapporteurs sent a joint letter to China to express their concern about the persecution of Falun Gong. These Special Rapporteurs are the most-respected authorities on human rights. Their findings and opinions on the Chinese regime's persecution of Falun Gong have been reprinted to thousands upon thousands of copies and submitted to world governments and media.
History, unfortunately, repeats itself. Just as the Holocaust information provided by Jewish groups was cast aside or downplayed because of the "unsubstantiated nature of the information" and its "prejudiced sources," information from Falun Gong practitioners has received the same fate. History has also shown that all major atrocities occurred when there was not enough media exposure, when perilous signals were ignored because they were "incomplete" or "unsubstantiated" or from "prejudiced sources" - when evildoers' deceits prevail, when the silence allows the evildoers to carry on unnoticed and unhindered.
History, however, never duplicates itself exactly.
There is no major military or ideological confrontation in the world now. While the Allies did not have their focus on saving the Holocaust victims, at least they were fighting the Nazis and determined to win the war. We do not have that excuse now. On the contrary, we are apparently determined to win the market in China.
Technology is far more advanced now than it was in WWII, and we do not even need to be at Auschwitz or Buchenwald to know what is going on there. If 6,000 people have been taken in to Sujiatun and none has come out, how hard is it to see from surveillance satellites the suspicious traffic going in and out to figure out that it is a death camp?
There are now many international human rights laws that were not available before the Nuremberg trials, and there are now many surveillance and protection mechanisms implemented by the United Nations. How hard is it to demand an international investigation into the serious claim of the death camp's existence? What were those international human rights laws established for?
We do not always ignore incomplete or unsubstantiated information from China, however. When Dr. Jiang Yanyong disclosed the Chinese regime's deadly lies about the SARS epidemic, the retired doctor's letter to the media contained only what he had heard from his colleagues. Did the world hesitate for a second because the information was "incomplete" or "unsubstantiated"? Why didn't the information's incompleteness prevent decisive action by the international community? In fact, his letter was sent only to Chinese media, but Western media got hold of it and publicized it. Why does the world react so differently to the SARS news and the Sujiatun news, both of life-and-death importance? Isn't it because Sujiatun is about other people's lives?
If that is not enough to make us look at the selfish side of our humanity, consider this: if Sujiatun happened anywhere else other than China, whether in democratic countries or in North Korea, Sudan, or Cuba, it would have caused major outcries. Only the human greed for economic gains from China has kept the Sujiatun death camp from being an international issue.
"The wrongs which we seek to condemn and punish have been so calculated, so malignant, and so devastating, that civilization cannot tolerate their being ignored, because it cannot survive their being repeated." Justice Jackson knew the legacy that the Nuremberg trials would leave behind when he drafted his opening speech. If he have lived to see the post-Nuremberg wrongs, he might have been more introspective and lead a trial on human conscience and how it could allow the wrongs to continue to happen.
Location: Masanjia Labor Camp, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province The Masanjia Labor Camp, is notorious for its heinous crimes against Falun Gong practitioners. In one incident that was reported by several news agencies, 18 female practitioners were stripped naked and thrown into the cells of male criminals. There also have been reports of multiple deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in this labor camp. The Masanjia Labor Camp is a fascist camp for the purpose of enslaving prisoners to perform labor for profit. Prisoners must work for extended hours under the most appalling conditions. The main business of the womens section of the Masanjia Labor Camp is textile production. Not only are the detainees not paid, but also their work hours and workloads are pushed to the limit to boost productivity and profits. TheNo.1 Female Camp is known to outsiders as the Shenyang Yihua Clothes Factory. Among its products, are exported goods, such as casual wear, sports suits, and pajamas. Their handicrafts are also exported. They make products for individual retailers such as the Wuai Market in Shenyang City. Their product lines include brand-name sportswear and down-filled coats carrying the brand name Jia Yuan. Falun Gong practitioners from 14 years of age to over 60 have been forced to do intensive labor in the labor camp. They are routinely forced to work 14-16 hours a day, with no days off. Sometimes when there is a big order, they are forced to work for 36 hours nonstop. The guards in the labor camp have complete control over the workload of the prisoners, arbitrarily depriving them of lunch, dinner, or sleeping time in order to extract more work from them. Falun Gong practitioners live in the most inhumane conditions. There is no bathroom in the camp. They are not allowed to brush their teeth, or to wash, shower, or change their clothes. Even the time for using the toilet is limited. The food given is minimal and is often rotten. The horrendous conditions and excessive workload damage the health of the practitioners. Many have swollen legs and experience irregular menstruation. Some even develop atrophy of their buttocks due to the extensive hours of being forced to sit still and work. Due to exhaustion, some have even fainted while working. However, no matter what physical conditions they are in, and no matter what the state of their health, they are not spared from the hard labor.
1. Forced to Make Clothing for Export Zhou Yanchun, female, 33, product Inspector of the Shenyang Antibiotic Factory 104 workshop (illegally dismissed because she practices Falun Gong), resident of Haiwang Street construction working committee, New Town District, Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, ID number: 210113680412642 On October 14, 1999, police arrested Ms. Zhou Yanchun when she went to Beijing to appeal to the central government to stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. On October 31, Ms. Zhou was imprisoned at the Masanjia Labor Camp. In the labor camp, Ms. Zhou was forced to make products for export, such as clothing, handicrafts, and embroidered goods, for the Xinghua Clothing Manufacturer. She was forced to work from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., and sometimes even until midnight, with no breaks, no weekends off, and no compensation. Her hands were often swollen and covered with blood blisters, and her finger joints ached from the strenuous work. She was only given a limited amount of mildewed cornbread to eat. Her health declined rapidly. Due to the long work hours and appalling conditions, her face and eyes were swollen and she suffered intense abdominal pain. Yet, she was still not allowed to take any breaks. If she ever slumped over from weariness or showed signs of fatigue, she would be shocked with electric batons by the guards. 2. Forced to Work for Extended Hours to Make Products for Export Falun Gong practitioners, including Ms. Liu Fengmei, Ms. Cui Yaning, Ms. Xie Baofeng, Ms. Dong Guixia, Ms. Jiang Wei, Xu sisters, Ms. Li Ping, Ms. Luo Li, Ms. Li Yingxuan, Ms. Li Zemei, Ms. Bai Shuzhen, have been illegally imprisoned at the Masanjia Labor Camp due to the central governments persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Some of them have already served their full sentences, but the authorities refuse to release them because they will not renounce Falun Gong. The practitioners are forced to work from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., making clothing, handicrafts, and embroidery for export. They have no breaks, no weekends off, and no compensation. Sometimes they are forced to work for as long as 36 hours without a break. From March 7 to 12, 2000, they were forced to work on a batch of products that were waiting to be immediately shipped overseas because the customer had a rush order. On March 11, 2000, they were informed that they would have to work overtime. They were forced to work non-stop from 6:30 a.m. on March 11, 2000 to 4 p.m. on March 12, 2000 (totaling 33.5 hours). However, on March 12, they had not been able to finish the assigned work. To punish them, the guards did not allow them to eat lunch. In addition, the guards beat or shocked the practitioners with electric batons. 3. Forced to Work for 31 Hours Nonstop Falun Gong practitioners detained in the No. 3 team of the No. 1 Division at the womens section of the Masanjia Labor Camp On March 7, 2001, the No. 3 team of the No. 1 division of the womens section of the labor camp received a batch of yellow, nylon-silk material for making exported casual wear. Falun Gong practitioners detained in this team were ordered to make 300 garments in five days. The guards forced practitioners to work from 8:30 a.m. on March 11, to 4 p.m. on March12, 31.5 hours nonstop. The practitioners were not allowed to leave their sewing machines and work benches for a day and a night. Totally ignoring their exhaustion and hunger, the guards kept threatening, cursing, and beating them, forcing practitioners to continue to work. The guards even forced the practitioners to skip meals. |

I’m waiting for China to become a campaign issue. It will be interesting watching the “frontrunners” squirm as they’re caught between voters and the big money that supports them.
Especially if the general public knew about the prison and death camps.
Purchase products that are 100% MADE IN THE USA!
Continue to take a stand and be a voice for our pets and our loved ones! Do everything you can to boycott goods made by China and this includes ingredients made in China, Chinese plant processing and Chinese exporting!
Our animals couldnt speak for themselves.
Were they the canaries of the food chain?

Awesome, Cal. Dragonslayer PING
LOL. Good one
Amazing that we do business with these commie dirtballs.
Can't happen, if the Chinese continue to sell us strychnine in our soup.
“Why have politicians and business leaders in the US allowed us to arrive at a place where a communist enemy holds such leverage over our economy?”
Corporate greed and political greed - and corruption.
Everything after “Indeed, Hunter intends to grab Red China by the throat.” wasn’t in the article. Where’d it come from?
The democrat candidates have wisely jumped on this issue early even though they have no moral high ground to stand on. The republicans are nervously trying to pretend it won’t be an issue and will get hurt by it. Fortunately Hunter is the one man who actually holds the high ground of the China issue and he hasn’t been afraid to say so.
I just got a bunch of Hunter pins and bumper stickers. If anyone needs any, let me know.
Get them out to your friends and neighbors too!!
