RESPONSES TO MY ARTICLE: "MEXICANS ARE GOOD PEOPLE"
Catholic Messages USA ^ | To be published later if necessary | Vincent Bemowski

Posted on 06/07/2007 9:54:15 PM PDT by servant675

I thank each of you for responding to my article & expressing your opinions on immigration. However, some of you appear to have forgotten that EVERYONE has an opinion, and you cannot please everyone. I have received very positive comments from Catholics & those of other Faiths. We live in a free country, and each person is allowed to express his or her opinions as long as they don't slander or personally attack others who do not share their beliefs.

Along with a number of Catholic bishops, I have expressed my concerns that bigotry is being practiced by some of those who are pushing for "enforcement" of our immigration laws. It is easy to be judgmental, but difficult to be a true Christian, and truly practice your faith. You must remember that we are a nation of immigrants, and not all came to this country legally. Even some of our ancestors may not have entered this country legally.

I have my beliefs and you have yours. I see a great deal of good in Mexican Americans, and the people of Mexico. Many Americans are very selfish & spoiled. Many Americans fail to see that breaking God's Laws is far, far more grave than breaking a man-made law. If you lived in a country that offered few opportunities for you to support your family, you would also want to seek citizenship in the United States. Express your opinions, but do so in a dignified & fair manner. Thank you.

Vincent Bemowski

Yada yada yada....Americans are very selfish and spoiled therefore Mexicans are entitled to a share of their money.

As if we don’t work for what we have.

Why do you hold us responsible for the welfare of Mexicans instead of the Mexicans themselves or their government?

Tell how God feels about freeloaders.

"Enforcement"? Why the quotes?

Our survival as a nation depends on our ability to control immigration. I feel compassion for the people from other countries, but if we allowed unfettered immigration it would destroy us.

I have no problem with the people of Mexico who come here legally, but I resent the attitude of many, that they are entitled to be here ahead of others who are going through the process legally.

I'm also past giving a damn who thinks I'm a bigot anymore. I'm not a bigot of course, and calling me and others who oppose illegal immigration bigots is merely a cheap tactic to marginalize those whose opinions one can't challenge with honest logic.

This is such an insulting attitude. He is implying that those of us who want the law enforced are bigoted, selfish, and not true Christians. Unbelievable. How does one even talk to someone like that?

This is such an insulting attitude.

It's basically liberal thinking in a nutshell -- taking a thoughtless, knee-jerk, shallow, emotional position which gives the person taking the position a feeling of moral superiority over others.

In my previous career, I was the "go see guy" for the illegals who were cheated on their pay, usually by another illegal.

I could have shined them on to the State Labor Board, and my captain preferred I did.

However, His Good Book tells me; 'what is done for the least, is done for the greatest". Now that does not required a degree in theology to understand what our Boss wants us to do, does it?

However, a flood of folks from the Third World, with their lack of knowledge, good hearted tho they may be, would quickly bring us down to their level. I do not want that for my grand kids.

If that makes me selfish, so be it. Demographics is destiny.

Mr. Bemowski, millions of illegal aliens in the United States are ungrateful, criminal, freeloading invaders, leeching the life blood out of generous, God-fearing, hard-working Americans, while giving nothing back. A disproportionately high percentage of the illegal alien freeloaders happen to be Mexican citizens. That is indisputable fact. Since you want to loosely toss religion around as if you somehow automatically own the high ground, last I read my Bible, Jesus did not have fond words for ingrates, freeloaders, or invaders. In fact, He preached about self-determination and generosity, something markedly different than being a heavy burden on society and holding your hand out at every opportunity, regardless of actual need. So what exactly makes these freeloaders so near and dear to your heart?

So you send us all private e-mails instead of responding to posters on the very thread you start, then you post another thread concerning your spam-mail response linked to your blog. Since when is FR and exclusive extension to someone’s personal blog?

This freeper is Bemowski. I, along with others received this same post in mail, signed by him.

As counter-intuitive as it seems, there are times when elements of the Catholic church in America resemble communism more than any theology. These 'liberation theology' elements are clearly marxist and were very active during the 80s in Central America. I don't believe that it is coincidence that this happened at the same time that the pink revolution in the American Catholic church was at its most powerful point.

Portraying their opponents on immigration amnesty as bigots is straight from the communist play book (as put forward by Hillary's college mentor) and is meant to marginalize the opponents while dismissing their arguments as being unworthy of discussion. It is not working.

I do not understand how it is bigotry if people want the immigration laws applied equally to all races. I don't care if they are Swedes, Chinese, or hispanic, I merely want the immigration laws followed and "enforced".

Isn't it funny how we Americans are selfish and spoiled. On the other hand we're also too hardworking and too focused on advancing in the work place. We don't take enough vacation time , like those superior Europeans.

We really suck and I just hope those hardworking Mexicans who almost elected a Communist for President and march in the streets of the US demanding their land back can educate us on how to be peasants.

Please don’t take the opinion of this guy as representative of the Catholic church.

He does not represent the Catholic church, but he likes to throw the name around a lot.

In truth, the Catholic church warns against licentiousness, which applies to people who try to gain entry into this country by bypassing legal means.

The previous and present Pope were both strong opponents of liberation theology...and they are representative of the Catholic church.

I agree with your point about using the term “bigot” as a Commmunist tactic. And you’re right...its not working...all its doing is strengthening my resolve.
