What is it with people accusing me of “getting people banned”?
I haven’t gotten anyone banned, and I don’t push abuse when people don’t agree with me.
I had nothing to do with ANY of the bannings, and I find it disgusting that you don’t hold any of them responsible for their outrageous behavior. If someone swears at Jim, they should expect to be banned. If someone dares Jim to ban them, they should expect to be banned. If they lie repeatedly and ignore warnings, they should expect to be banned.
If you get yourself banned, don’t blame me.
And I am pinging Jim out of courtesy. He IS a person, and I hope still enjoys his forum when he can.
Can’t remember wether it was the Stop Rudy Thread number one or number two. But it is there check it out for yourself if you have the courage.

It doesn’t matter. It seems that MadmanIvan has started purging Roody Rooters too, I guess even the WAckos have a little bit of sense.
He is and he has a great site, and I have no doubt that he is tiring of all this controversy. That being said, I still find it somewhat depressing that on the Rudy issue, dissenting opinion is not being tolerated. But as has been pointed out, this is Jim's site and he is certainly entitled to set the policy of this forum as he so chooses.
If someone like me has a problem with it, I or we have the right to take our trade elsewhere. I have no doubt you won't believe me but WA does not exist to bash FR. In fact Ivan has been posting threads over there telling the folks to move on and forget about FR. And continuing along that line, WA does not exist to push the candidacy of Rudy. I am over there pushing Fred, others are pushing the candidate of their choice.
I would like to remain welcome to post on FR, but failing that I will remain as I started on FR back in 1999, a lurker. Despite the controversy, The Free Republic is and remains an important part of my life.

Wrong. A couple of months ago, at the request of two WA posters to see for myself what was being posted in Salt River, I submitted a membership application and stated specifically that I would make on test post, read the content of Salt River, and then would not post there again.
MadIvan and his merry band denied me access. So quit trying to pretend that Salt River is an open book.

This membership application form does not grant immediate access to the site. All membership applications are reviewed by an administrator before acceptance. You are not guaranteed access to the application by filling out this form.
That sure doesn't sound like anyone can join to me.
Of course if you are up to MadmanIvan's WAcko standards, you have basically surrendered any rights to privacy (as stated in the Terms of Service):
