.."Romney is absolutely wrong in recommending a secret timetable," Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., tells ABC News in a telephone interview while campaigning in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. "Secret timetables are bad because in the end they all become public and the enemy uses them to estimate the limit on Americas endurance."

Romney actually proposed this?
If so, he must be two people, no one person could possibly be so stupid.

Secret timetable? Never happen as soon as one of the NYT moles gets a hold of it -— our enemies will have the information before the papers hit the street.

I’m surprised at Romney saying this. Is he trying to attract Democrats?

Say what? Secret timetables? Will the president know, or just the terrorists?

Isn’t a timetable bad period? I mean, I wouldn’t trust whoever’s leaking these stories to the media to keep something like ‘secret timetables’ a secret. Best to kill the whole notion of a timetable before it becomes military policy.

I can’t wait for the first debate. Hunter knows what he’s talking about, the top three RINOs won’t stand a chance.

Romney ping.
Methinks Romney made a bit of a slip-up here.

Ruh roh, I thought Romney had better sense than that, but quite frankly that is what happens when you have a candidate with ZERO military experience (Romney) and a candidate with U.S. Army Ranger / Vietnam Combat Vet experience PLUS 26 years on the House Armed Services Committee.
When the one with zero experience makes the wrong move, it's *CHECKMATE*.
Nice catch on this article! :)

"Isnt a timetable bad period?"
In a war, a timetable is an impossibility, by the nature of war itself, there is only retreat. Now if this were a 'mission' with a stated specific and carried out goal, perhaps a timetable would be applicable. I hate this war, or whatever it is. But we can't leave the innocent of Iraq worse off than we found them.
I wish it were otherwise. In the end, we'll probably just bring millions and millions of them here. And many won't be innocents.
When the Civil War started, Lincoln called up troops for 3 months. He thought that was all it was going to take.
War doesn't happen on anyone's timetable.
