Illegal aliens repeatedly violate laws
Valley Press on ^ | Tuesday, January 16, 2007.

Illegal immigration confronts the United States with lots of stresses - economic, social and political. Here's yet another one: crime, specifically crimes committed by people who are in this country in violation of U.S. territory and sovereignty.

Just as high rates of recidivism - a fancy word that means habitual or chronic relapse (as applied to criminals, the word refers to the likelihood to repeat crimes or commit additional ones) - characterize American lawbreakers, many of the criminals who breach our borders have the decidedly repugnant habit of offending repeatedly after their initial violations.

Justice Department data indicate that immigrants who initially are arrested simply for being in the United States illegally may be charged up to six more times, and for more serious crimes, after being released by authorities.

In addition, the number of illegal immigrants who are deported after being declared felons is rising.

Inspectors looked at the criminal histories of 100 illegal immigrants who were arrested and subsequently released by authorities in 2004. Of the sample group, 73 illegals were later arrested a whopping total of 429 times, on charges ranging from traffic tickets to drug and weapons charges.

"The rate at which released criminal aliens are re-arrested is extremely high," the study concluded.

We'd say 73% certainly is an "extremely high" rate for crimes to be committed repeatedly by people who have no right to be in our nation to begin with.

For years, U.S. authorities have been forced to release thousands of jailed illegals because we simply don't have enough prisons and other resources to keep them in custody.

Last year, the Department of Homeland Security declared its intention to detain 99% of non-Mexican illegals until they could be returned to their home nations.

This isn't news. Within the past year, I've read a several articles about illegal aliens killing people with DUI accidents and robbing businesses. The fact that someone is an illegal alien states that he or she violated a law.

Not to mention the Tennessee state trooper who was gunned down by a couple of these cockroaches last week. Or the Texas LEO gunned down by another cockroach two weeks ago.

Who writes these articles, anyway? High school journalists?

Every morning they wake up here, it's another day of law breaking.

Anyone who is in the US or Canada illegally and commits another crime should be immediately deported and barred from ever entering either country ever again.

Why would this surprise anyone with at least half a brain?

An illegal alien's very first act upon entering this country was to break a law. The reaction that said illegals would later break more laws should be, "D'UH!"

In essence if you break one law why not go the whole hog?

Wise words from Wales. :-)

Of course they will violate our laws when they know that they are coddled and get privileged treatment.

>>With the United States locked in a struggle for survival with terrorists who will stop at nothing to bury us, we continue to be outraged at the porous nature of our borders and how little defended, or defensible, they seem to be. The uninterrupted stream of people who have no right to be here is bad enough; the fact that many of them are criminals who repeatedly disrupt the peace and safety of our nation is absolutely unacceptable.<<

I suppose you are one of these folks who think that we can handle everything that comes down the pike, huh?

Well, when we have another terrorist attack I want you to remember that you are one of the people who agreed to using our law enforcement assets to round up illegal alien lawbreakers which removed these same LEO's from protecting America from terrorists.

So yes, I will hold you partially responsible for the next terrorists attack.

Illegal aliens repeatedly violate laws

Gee, ya think!!?? This is so stupid, it should be an embarrassment to stupid people. What reason would we have to believe that people who violate our laws and national sovereignty to come here would suddenly turn into model, law-abiding citizens??

NON-MEXICANS? Gosh, they had better get busy and round up all those English guys and the Swedes and the New Zealanders, etc. who are invading our country and raping it.

DHS has obviously been ordered to let the REAL invading hordes, the Mexicans, go free. The big lies from the Bush administration continue...

Well duh! (not to you personally).

Once they realize they can safely operate outside the law they "escalate" (to use a Pelosi-ism). This is what many of us have been saying for years. After the non-action following the "ten million illegal man march" they must feel as the have free reign - and they pretty much do. All as the feet of Bush.

"Illegal aliens repeatedly violate laws"

That's only news to:

1. The deaf, dumb, and/or blind (who have an excuse)

2. Open-Border Zealots and Endless-Amnesty Fanatics (those in total denial).

In a sane world yes.

In the world of our current Attorney-General, they'd be the star witness
against US border patrol agents.
And be looking at a multi-million-dollar settlement for their "injuries".

And not sitting in a dingy US jail, where a border-jumping
drug-smuggler should be sitting.
