Teen Murderer “Dying of Boredom” in Jail
azconservative ^ | 7 Dec 2006 | John Semmens

Warren Messner was sentenced to 22 years in prison for his part in the torture-murder of a Florida homeless man. Messner and three other teens said they beat the man to death over a three day period because they were bored. Now Messner claims he is dying of boredom in jail. He has been in juvenile detention for eight months.

“I’m locked up pretty much around the clock,” Messner complained. “I can’t go anywhere or do anything. It’s really boring here.”

Messner’s mother Lori says the lack of freedom is “killing my boy.” “He’s used to doing whatever he wants,” she said. “He can’t take being locked up. It’s killing him.”

The ACLU says it may intervene in the case. “Being bored to death is cruel and usual punishment for a teenager,” said ACLU spokesman, Bertram Petty. “Mr, Messner is too young to face this ‘death penalty.’ Unless the state can make his stay in prison more entertaining it will have to release him. Besides, he says he’s learned his lesson and probably won’t kill anyone from now on.”

Well, you know, that's sort of the concept behind imprisonment.

They need to put the scum bag in with Bubba, that will take care of his boredom.

Aw, quit your bitch'n, get a mail order law degree and sue the state like everybody else in prison does, that'll keep you busy.

Illustrating the absurd with the absurd. Well done.

Unfortunately, if Al Franken reported this - his audience would believe it and support it.

LOL

All prisoners should get PS3's to prevent boredom.

It seems to me that I heard this on Clear Channel radio. I don't think it's satire.

Fine satire, made all the more devastating by our culture's accelerating descent into self-destruction.

It's satire, but very close to recent articles on this punk and his wonderful mother.

Well his victim doesn't have the luxury of being bored now does he.

Now, if he would really die of boredom, the taxpayers would save some cash.
