And is all this Bush's fault also? When the pig was president nothing like this applied? Everything was done right?

I can't remember a time when some person or another hadn't come up with a pseudo-reasoned sounding premise, that seemed to prove that disaster was just ahead.

I've gotten to the point that I take them in stride anymore. Some day one of them may pan out. And perhaps not...

"Williams believes GDP is contracting now. The government reported only a 1.1% increase in the fourth quarter. Even in an election year, and despite the government’s best efforts to paint a pretty face, all it could muster was a measly 1.1%. More likely, the economy actually contracted 2% in the fourth quarter. This means we are in a recession NOW."

I thought you had to have 3 straight quarters of deline in GDP to be in a recession. This report seems fishy.....

In all fairness, considering the source of the article, if you're a real estate agent who has been selling $80,000 homes for $275,000 these past ten years it must look like a depression is coming.

The rate of inflation using only the pre-Clinton era CPI is closer to 7%!

Here's a hint....
a pre-Clinton CPI won't include the internet economy.

This is utter nonsense posing as winsight and isdom. This guy would favor policies that would plunge us into deflation and a real depression in now time.

A conspiracy to fake inflation numbers to make them lower than they are? Don't you think an army of economists would be talking about this if an inkling of it were true?

And what's with the quote about the fourth quarter in an election? Are we reporting growth before it happens? The fourth quarter begins October 1.
