DUmmie FUnnies 06-19-06 ("What's your LEAST favorite Air America Show?")
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | June 19, 2006 | KOmmies and PJ-Comix

Posted on 06/19/2006 5:56:41 AM PDT by PJ-Comix

In yesterday's EDITION of the DUmmie FUnnies, the KOmmies at The Daily Kos asserted the wishful thinking that AM talk radio is fading fast. Perhaps they were thinking ONLY of leftwing AM radio. Just a couple of years ago, the leftwing Air America Radio was hailed by the MSM as the "answer" to Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts who dominate the AM airwaves. What ended up fading fast wasn't AM talk radio but the dream of competing with conservative talk radio. The left in general has pretty much given up on Air America as you can see in this KOmmie THREAD titled, "What's your LEAST favorite Air America Show?" Notice they don't even bother to ask what their FAVORITE Air America show is because that network has turned out to be such a disappointment that they have to ask the question in terms of a negative. So let us now watch the KOmmies go about the tough selection process of what Air America show bums them out the most in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, happy to listen to Laura Ingraham in the AM and Rush in the PM, is in the [brackets]:

What's your LEAST favorite Air America Show?

[There is SO MUCH to choose from in the way of terrible Air America shows that it will be tough to select just one above all others.]

It's been a while since I've seen an Air America related diary.. What's your LEAST favorite Air America Radio show? There has been a variety of Air America related diaries but most seem to be leaving out some shows. Please think of a show that not only is something you've listened to but something you can critically explain why you dislike.

[Please think of a show that not only is something you dislike but absolutely revolts you to the core.]

I'll start with my top 3 programs and why :

[In the Air America context, KOmmie Joshua Jenks doesn't mean his top 3 FAVORITE programs. He means the top 3 WORST programs.]

1. "Springer on the Radio". This show became painful to listen to. For about a month straight, it was the show that I would listen to when I woke up. Part of the problem with me has always been the way he lets right wing Jugguarnaut heads roll over him when they call in. Some of his topics seem to be a little perverse. He also is pretty unenergetic to listen to.

[Translation: Springer lets conservative callers have their say which is why this KOmmie dislikes that show.]

2. "Randi Rhodes Show". I know this is a hot favorite and I'll explain why I dislike it. She rambles. She rambles too much. I know she can spit it out. She's like the rapper of left-wing radio. She is fluent and she rarely misses a beat. I find the show to be too depressing though. It's a good show though if you want to hear someone take a no bullshit approach to ... ALL callers. She cuts off Right-Wingers and well.. Left-Wingers. Don't call and expect to get a word in edge-wise.

[Randi likes to rant insanely without being uninterrupted.]

3. "The Al Franken Show". For the most part, Al Franken is a very average show. He doesn't really have any strong negatives and his strongest positive is definately his ability to interview and have guests. He is respectful to callers.. both left and right wing. The oy-yoy-yoy show was severely lame as well as some of the other sctick which occurs. The jokes.. I just don't get his style.

[Correction: The ENTIRE Al Franken Show is severely lame. Recommended only a cure for folks suffering from insomnia. Anyway, KOmmie Joshua Jenks, thanx for listing the best known of the Air America shows as being your "Least Favorites." Now to see which Air America shows the other KOmmies hate...]

Randi can be good, but she's too much of a ranter ala Rush. Randi likes to hear herself talk and, frankly, I feel sorry for her guests.

[I feel sorry for her listeners.]

Janeane is clearly the weak point of the Majority Report and she's really an ax grinder. She seems just so morose, she brings me down.

[The only thing that Janeane has been upbeat about lately is promoting Scientology. And she was the one who called conservatives ignorant?]

I voted for Malloy. I really can't stand him. He yells at the mike and yells at callers. He's self-righteous and not willing to let any other viewpoint be heard. I used to listen to Savage when I car pooled with a guy who actually liked it. Malloy is remarkably close to Savage in style.

[The big difference is that Savage actually has listeners.]

There's only so much I can take of Malloy's gloom/doom paranoia.

[What's Malloy's KOmmie screen name? It sounds like he would fit right in there.]

Love Franken but voted for his showw...can't wait till he's running for Senate so he's off my radio in the morning.

[That could be a great campaign strategy for Franken: "Vote for me so you won't have to hear my boring voice on the radio any more."]

Can't stand: Rachel Maddow. I find her preachy and pedantic. And I really can't stand it when she fake laughs at the comedian who's not funny who does a piece at 10 of. Yes, I miss Mark and Marc terribly. Did I mention I'm a middle aged white woman?? Increasingly can't stand: Ed Schultz. The whole heartland schtick is cute, but he's right, he's not left enough for me when he has entire shows devoted to discussing Reid's perfectly legitimate boxing tickets, for instance. Usually gets snapped off in five minutes or less. Tolerate: Randi Rhodes -- Between screeches, she often eloquently hits the name on the head. Al Franken -- still waiting for the humour, but he's not awful.

[The KOmmie version of a "ringing endorsement" for the Al Franken show: "Completely humorless but at least he's not awful."]

Thom Hartmann is my fave...I actually haven't heard all the programs or have only heard very small snippets here and there. I've heard enough Springer to vote for him because he's, well, boring. It's passionless.

[Don't worry, KOmmie. When you finally get to hear Thom Hartmann in full, he'll also make your "Least Favorite" list.]

I listen to Al Franken for his guests, who are almost all superb. Franken himself is annoying and not particularly funny most of the time. His snarky laugh is off-putting. He knows the issues well and often asks great questions. But other times his attempts at irony and sarcasm leave the less-informed listener at a loss. He would not make any converts, I'm pretty sure.

[A KOmmie listens to the Al Franken show...but not to hear Al Franken.]

Rachel Maddow - not particularly gifted. The show isn't very original, the "Ask Dr. Maddow" is trite. They need better writers, basically.

[They need a better host, basically.]

Franken, ah, ah, ah ah , ah, bores the crap outta me. the content is fine, the delivery sucks.

[And we now conclude this edition of the DUmmie FUnnies aka KOmmie KOmix with that "ringing endorsement" of Al Franken.]

What's your LEAST favorite Air America Radio show? . . . Please think of a show that not only is something you've listened to but something you can critically explain why you dislike. . . . I'll start with my top 3 programs and why. . . .

So here's their OWN radio network, devoted to their OWN moonbat leftist ideas, and they start a thread about what they DON'T like about it! Talk about nattering nabobs of negativism!

Seems to me that the points these posters made about their least favorite radio program, are a pretty good reflection of the democrat party.

Right there, I think, is the first problem.

Can you IMAGINE listening to Jerry Springer on the radio FOR A MONTH STRAIGHT, AS SOON AS YOU WAKE UP??!! Ack! I would find that painful after five minutes.

Let me know the name of the book when you find it. Sounds really cool.

My least favorite show would be their entire cast of characters. The other side can say what they want about Rush being a loudmouth, but I personally find most left-wing radio hosts to be the equivalent of Sister Mary Gaudentia scraping her fingernails on the blackboard to get everyone's attention.....Rush at least has a great radio voice....

Coming from the forum of gloom, doom and paranoia, thiss is quite telling of Malloy.

Lucky you. Your history show sounds a lot more interesting than what we had on.

Hubby and I sleep with the TV on because he needs to sleep that way. I've gotten used to it. He wants the channel to be on the local NBC affiliate.

This is a problem for me in the wee hours of Monday morning, because they replay Hissy Matthews' show and Meet the Press. I woke up in the middle of the night, just in time to hear the end of Hissy's show. Then I drifted in and out of sleep during a replay of Dateline, and then there was Tim Russert, announcing that he would be talking to "the most outspoken Democratic critic of the war in Iraq in the House of Representatives, JOHN MURTHA."

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NOT THAT TRAITOR!!!!!!! At that point, I grabbed my remote (hubby and I each have one) and I switched it over to Fox News and drifted back off to sleep. Hubby would just have to deal with it.

I've never listened to Err America (thank God) but this is eye opening. Let's see...

Al Franken
Jerry Springer
Randi Rhodes
Janeane Garofolo
? Malloy
Rachel Maddow
Ed Schultz

...All get dissed. Is there anyone left? Oh, sorry. I forgot that Thom Hartmann got as lukewarm a kudo as could be. Sheesh. No wonder it almost doesn't exist anymore.

I find the show to be too depressing though.

Jerry Springer, too perverse for a KOmmie?! Randi Rhodes, too depressing?! I thought "perverse" and "depressing" were the HALLMARKS, the defining characteristics, of the Loony Left.

Just want to THANK everyone for putting the good word for me in with Rick on an earlier thread. I was just on the phone with him and he said no problem getting the "gizmos" on consignment in the future. The only problem is that the "gizmos" sell so well that there are none available right now. Possibly will be later this week or next week. EASIEST thing I ever sold. And what is great for the DUFUs, it will allow me MORE TIME to do these DUFUs.
