My wife has a good friend who has been looking for a job. She is Chinese... my wife and the friend who is looking for a job.

Her friend is a CPA and is looking for an accountant position.

There is a job shortage for Chinese accountants - make that a HUGE job shortage - in Beijing.

The big four - www.pricewaterhousecoopers.com, www.deloitte.com, www.kpmg.com, and www.ernstandyoung.com - are all hiring. And they desperately need accountants in China.

The giant state-owned enterprises need international accounting expertise as they prepare to adopt new accouting procedures that will help them gain investor confidence.

Even the smaller domestic companies and the Chinese subsidiaries of foreign companies are hiring.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers plans to add more than 2000 people. Deloitte plans to add 1,500. KPMG plans to add 1,300 and Ernst and Young plan to add 800.

Need an accountant job? Do you know Chinese?

These firms are hiring big time.

KEYWORDS: accountants; accountings; china; chinese; economy; expansion; globaleconomy; globalization; progress
This is another example of how globalization creates jobs; the demand for accountants has been fueled by China's steadily modernizing, Westernizing economy. This demand has created opportunities for Chinese-speaking accountants from all over the world - opportunities that simply would not have existed had globalization not been allowed to take its course. How can China need accountants?

China is supposedly communist.

The state is supposed to wither away.

Profitability of a business does not matter under communism.

Accountants are capitalist worker bees.

Chairman Mao must be turning in his grave.

Ah, but China is now communist in name only; the Communist Party is trying to preserve its political existence while transforming its principles to continually approach support for a free-market economy.

Yes, support as in "the support provided by a noose around the neck". They are busy weaving the rope which they hope to sell to us.

Cheers!
