Western leaders often say that Islam is a noble religion that has been hijacked by fundamentalists. But many commentators refuse this interpretation and claim instead that extremism and violence are the true essence of Islam. They are entitled to their beliefs, but are these beliefs accurate or productive? There are millions of Muslims throughout the world who live lives of peaceful productivity and ignoring these people, each a living refutation of terrorism, denies us both the whole picture and our greatest ally in the war on terror.

Do not confuse being moderately Muslim with "moderate".
How much does this organization pay you to post this stuff?
> There are millions of Muslims throughout the world
> who live lives of peaceful productivity ...
Then why are they allowing the Cutthroat Culters to
claim that the jihadists speak for all of islam?
Why are they not marching by the millions protesting jihad?
The obvious conclusion is that the silent majority
tacitly support jihad.
That was my thought, too.
Is this an abuse of FR?
Moderate islam is people who don't wage jihad themselves, but support those who do.
Moderate Islam = oxymoron.
Account created on Thursday, seven articles posted, all from the same source, not a single reply to anything anywhere. Hmmm.
Moderate, as in "we'll chop off your head, kill your family, rape and pillage your homeland"?
Promoting a website which actually doesn't look all that bad, except for this article.
Islam is not a religion. It is a tyranny.
Until a Muslim can choose not to be a Muslim without threat or disadvantage from other Muslims, Islam cannot claim to be a 'religion of peace'.
In Georgia, we had a flag. It flew over our slavery days. Probably not an issue since cotton was being picked by slaves, and no one has claimed cotton to be a racist commodity. But our people, really good down to earth hard working people allowed that flag to be highjacked by the KKK. At every rally, there it was, flying high over racism. Because these good hard working people didn't stand up and say no to the people who highjacked their flag in the name of hate and racism, they lost the right to have their flag fly over Georgia. Now we see the same analogy in the Muslim world, don't we? Millions of "hard working, peaceful Muslims" throughout the world, living in peace, loving mankind. There is just one problem. Their silence has allowed their "peaceful" religion to be highjacked by the Arab version of the KKK. Let's skip the candy coating and come out with it. Islam is a religion of oppression where women are severely abused, even by the "peaceful" groups. Ignorance is rampant in this religion, and killing your own child is an accepted method of family control. Your claims only work on the ignorant.

Sounds good to me. Welcome to FR.
"As part of the return to Islam's historic political power, radical Islamists seek to establish control of the greater Middle East. They believe that it is necessary for the countries of the Middle East to be governed in accordance with their interpretations of Islam and sharia law."
If you think they only want to control the Middle East, then you are exceedingly naive. Besides all the prior quotes and info posted here at FR, How do you explain the following, which was posted at http://www.shiachat.com ?:

The overwhelming majority of people in any society are simply not activists by nature. They tend to themselves and keep their heads down. You may call them collaborators for doing so, but in a culture where they (and those who they love) would be the targets of violence if they spoke out, it is completely understandable. People look at Americans who protest on the sides of the street like their members of some other species, sometimes. Most people are simply not brave enough to stand up to the much worse threat of deadly retaliation. Think of the Soviet Union or China today. Do you think all those millions, or billions if we're talking China, like living in a country where people disappear, where they cannot leave (without an intelligence tasking), where they cannot even disagree? But most do not stand up because they would rather live their half-lives quietly than risk their necks for something more. Maybe this makes them weak, but it definitely makes them human.
I can't explain it and I would never excuse it. What I would say is that it is not all there is to know. You've found one part of the puzzle, the part that all of our soft-hearted European pseudo-friends would like to ignore, the part of Islam that wants to kill infidels and take over the world, including the United States. But that's not all there is. Is it impossible to recognize that there is another side to the problem, the side that keeps its mouth shut for fear of retaliation? Why not give those people a little attention? Because I'll tell you this - there is absolutely no possible physical way to prevent, with any certainty, another attack on the United States just by keeping the bad guys out. We have to discredit their ideas and the best people to do that are the people that offer a different example of Islam.
