I guess the millions of freed Iraqis don't mean anything.

No, they don't because it was George Bush and the American fighting men and women who liberated them.

If I were Dubya, I would resign on January 13th, 2009, just to watch the Left go nuts from hearing "President Cheney."

I think your assessment is correct.

The landslide of 1984 is the one better remembered, and people have the tendency to forget about the massive landslide of 1980, which is when all this unnecessary political animosity started.

I think people remember the '84 landslide so well simply because Mondale only won one state. Of course, winning six states, which Carter did in the prior election, is only slightly less pitiful.

It was fun to read that rant of defeat.

It would be amazing if we could get Ahmadinejad to this state of mind.

BTW, he can be emailed apparently:Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran

But only in content, rather than tone or rationality.

I'd hate to be Dubya when the Congress sends him the inevitable pile of crap this bill will be. I know we can't deport 12 million people, but if any of these guys think these illegals are going to pony up two grnd and then move back to Mexico, they are smoking some very good dope.

So what then should be in a good, valid piece of immigration legislation? The fence is long overdue and the GOP House didn't legislate to build enough of it. What then is the solution for those already here?

Go after employers? All fun and games until we get the economic backlash. A lot of US companies are subsidizing the artificially high cost of American labor in their shops by using service contractors sub rosa that they know full well are hiring illegals. Pass that cost back to American industry and they will predictably cut the payrolls and shut more plants to meet the expense.

>>The hate started with Reagan.

>>Why?

Because Reagan, unlike Nixon and Eisenhower, was unapologetically and utterly disinterested in anything they had to say. he completely disrespected their ideas and considered them to be unmitigated failures.

I empathize with Reagan on this. It's hard to think of Jimmy Carter as anything other than an asinine raging Charlie Foxtrot. However, I think he Reagan hatred had to do with the extent to which the man embodied everything the left was not.

Not only the country, but the world. And possibly an undiscovered planet or two.

Classic. The alien's hatred of humanity and desire to add Earth to their celestial empire began on January 21, 2001.

That, too; the conventional academic left was so used to having presidents pay attention to them, and here comes this guy who understands how marginal they are.

The academic left really really really wanted Reagan to look to them for approval.....so they could have the pleasure of denying it.

Well, they got no pleasure.

The murder, the slaughter, the explosions, the maiming, the blood enrage me, the absolute horror of a so-called war brought about by the mere whim of this empty shell of a human being of him. How sick, how tired, how hopelessly futile is my inability to do anything to stop this nightmare. How sick I am of feeling this rage. I am so sick of him!

If you really believe the war was brought about only by the mere whim of one individual you have no concept of how our government works. Regardless of your feelings the facts are Bush is not an omnipotent dictator and we have a checks/balances form of government. Your beloved Dem's gave President Bush the authorization to go to war. He couldn't have done it without that.

I am shocked by my rage. I am a peaceful person. I am a lover. A mother. A sister. A good friend. I volunteer. I raise money for those less fortunate. But I hate him. Yes I do. I hate his guts and everything he says and does. I have never hated anyone in my life. But I do hate him. And for those who say they don't hate the man but hate his actions, I say, I hate the man and I hate his actions, because they are one and the same. You are what you do. And he is Hitler reincarnated. He is a mass murderer. He is an empty shell, void of humanity. And he deserves to be hated, and I do hate him. And I do not have a problem with that.

President Bush is not a mass murderer. Nor is he Hitler reincarnated. You see, if this statement were true, people like Reid, Pelosi, Franken, Moore, etc. would be among the 'disappeared' and more likely dead. Even you would be among the missing because open dissent wasn't allowed in Nazi Germany. Where are the ovens?

I feel hopeless and powerless. Each day I talk myself into working so hard to make my living, and most of all, working so hard to show my child that Life is Beautiful and we should be grateful, because we do have so much. We are healthy, we have a nice place to live and good food to eat and people who love us. And we have each other.

Honey, you really need to step away from the computer, away from the television and away from politics. You need to realize you have worked yourself up into such a frenzy of hate you are poisoning everything in your life. You alone are responsible for your feelings. President Bush can't make you feel anything unless you allow it.

You have so much to be grateful for. You live in a country that allows you free speech, freedom to go where you want, freedom to pursue your dreams, freedom to disagree with your government and so much more. There are so many other countries you could have been born into where you would have no freedom, no hope and a life full of true misery.

But when I see God's beautiful planet being destroyed by this stupid, stupid man-boy, this swaggering bully without one ounce of conscience or Love of Life, I am so afraid for the future and for my child. And I am so tired of that fear.

I don't know what planet you're living on but it's painfully obvious to me it isn't the same one I inhabit. For that I'm eternally grateful!

And guess what? NO ONE dares. Not one single Democrat, Progressive, or conservative politician has dared to stand up and say, "You are a liar.

Hmmmm, let me think here, either EVERYONE in any position of power is "in on it", or, well, maybe this DUmmie might possibly be, uh, _wrong_... lemme think about it here..

Methinks that there is one re-education camp these DUmmies could use... "Occams School of fine Cutlery".

"You see, that is the thing that makes Democrats different than the GOP. We happen to think beyond ourselves, our lives, and our country -- beyond our own self interest to see how our actions and our government's actions impact others. We feel the injustice, we feel the pain, and we feel the horror."

Pause here while the DUmmy eagerly smells his own farts...

From surveying old magazines circa 1890-1990,

Frank, I recently read a Biography of the original GW, Washington that is. Back in his day, members of his own cabinet were stabbing his back and calling him "King George", accusing him of all sorts of nefarious things. It was as good and nasty as ever.

Funny, the same thing happened to Lincoln, who may well have been the most hated President of his time...

A whole lotta folks didn't much appreciate FDR either, hmmmm...

Then there was Teddy Roosevelt...

If the man keeps this up, I think they'll have to Rush more to start clearing away space on a certain mountainside..

Anyone reading the comments from the lunatics at DU, must acknowledge the success of the DNC, CNN, Reuters, AP, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, ABC and the leftist Educrats in dumbing down America to the point where a Civil War could easily be ignited by these leftist lunatics.....

Any "Right Thinking" American that is not armed, and trained to use them - is acting recklessly...

I think they are physically attracted to President Bush. The rage they talk about is definitely the rage of the sexually frustrated/repressed/bored/unsatisfied.

W is the object of their sexual fantasies; they go into long, masturbatory rants expressing their longing for him, just for him to appear suddenly in the midst of their dry, sexless lives, wearing his flight suit, or better yet, in a t-shirt wet with sweat after a morning of brush cutting at the ranch. Of course, they have to cover it up, which explains their frenzy.

Wait a minute, this is my fantasy...well, without the rage. Whoops.

I am tired of waking up in the middle of the night after dreams of Armageddon brought about by a cackling sociopath who prays for the 'honor' of bringing about the End Times that he believes is his destiny.

Didn't your mother tell you not to sit thru multiple viewings of "V For Vendetta?"
