Play-Dough Jesus : The Savior of Game-Boy Christians
Life and Liberty Ministries ^ | 3/29/06 | Dennis Green

Posted on 03/29/2006 2:00:33 PM PST by 4lifeandliberty

It's past time for the Church to start acting like the Church and lift the bushel off of her smoldering candle. The abortion holocaust "will" end only when the Church says so. Thus far She hasn't shown much concern over millions of dead children.

The play-dough Jesus that many serve just doesn't seem to care enough about murdered children to "call" more Christians to action. He has, after all, been molded into our image and wouldn't think of demanding something of his people that isn't self gratifying and comfortable. That's the great thing about play-dough; you can reshape it into any image you wish.

I can't understand why in most cities that have free standing baby murdering mills, you can usually count on one hand the total number of Christians who are willing to do anything about saving the children scheduled to die. I have no doubt that the Just, Holy and Ignored Messiah of Rev. 3:16 is feeling nauseous. The people of this world will never be redeemed and the children will continue to be butchered as long as the Church places its priorities on self-gratifying and time sapping activities.

As long as we home schooling parents teach our children that time is best spent at serving self, they will grow up to be the self servers that they were trained to be. To train up a child in the way he should go is to train him up to be as sacrificial and compassionate as our Messiah himself.

I am grieved as I watch so many home schooling families baptize their young in useless entertainment and frivolous activity while the world steadily marches on to hell. Protecting our children from the ungodly influences of the public school system is only a part of preparing them for a holy life.

The fields are white but it is seldom noticed by my home schooled brethren who are too busy running their children from one athletic event to another and from one Church activity to another. The very ones who actually have the freedom to reap are neglecting the harvest.

Brother’s and Sister’s, rather than filling your children’s days with endless “eternally insignificant” activity, consider regularly taking the time to show them how to reach out to the lost. Consider training them in the ways of our Blessed Messiah who gave His all and demands that we give no less.

This was written out of concern for the snoozing Church whom I love and grieve over.

He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

For the rest of my Game-boy brothers and sisters,

Get back to your play-dough!

Dennis Green

Jesus didn't start his ministry till he was 30. Before that time he was busy with “eternally insignificant” carpentry.

The author needs some balance, and kids need to have time to run and play and be kids.

Brother’s and Sister’s,

I hope Dennis Green isn't homeschooling in punctuation use.

He also gets an "F" in "Play-Doh" spelling.

At being a self-righteous sanctimonious prig, he gets an "A+".

No. This is the outfit who said he
supports his wife and 10 kids by
breeding pedigree puppies! I asked
him in a private mail if he dipped
into the contributions his outfit
collects at the public rallies
held at NASCAR and other huge
gathering arenas. And that's what
he told me...puppies!
I have no quarrel with his plaint
about saving babies and mothers
from the abortion clinics. But
at the same time, I don't believe
he's being completely honest about
his personal income. Sorry, he
comes across as a "I'm holier than
thou" 'Christian.'

Let me see if I can get this all straight...

(1) Christians should do something about abortion mills. (Like WHAT?)

(2) Home schoolers shouldn't be spending so much time on sports, but should be reaping the harvest.

(3) Play-Doh is eternally insignificant.

Ok, I gather, maybe, that what I might be supposed to draw from this is that homeschooling parents should be dropping their kids' sporting activities, throwing away the Play-Doh, and taking the kids to protest at abortion clinics?

I guess I'm the only one who gets this so far... the author is decrying several things.. churches that have become nothing more than social halls, homeschoolers who teach their kids feel good stuff and nothing of substance, Christians who want their Lord molded to fit their beliefs instead of the other way around.. how many more children must be murdered before we get off our rear ends and take more action than just saying, "well isn't that tragic?"

This is just more of the cult of "Christian Activism"

The point of Christ having been doing other things for 30 years before begining his ministry is an excelent point -- something that I have never considered.

Howmany social injustices occuredduring those 30 years, how many sick lame and halt did christ pass in those years and not touch and heal one. How many people died in their sins and never heard the Gospel in those 30 years

Jesus said to his mother my time is not yet --

There is a definite time in God that we learn of him and grow until the "Time" where we can function in His strength and power. But many run on ahead of God on their own like the story in the OT of Ahimahaz that wanted to run that day but had no message and after demandeding to run several times Joab let the young man run and he passed the designated runner with the message but he had nothing to give david and was not rewarded anything for the performance of his flesh and zeal.

Recently I have seen something new about Christ and his ministry in regards to the charges of the "cult of Christian activism" that demands we rule over the gentiles with an Iron fist and bring back the good old days of the anglicization of england when the Anglican church worked hand in fist with the british government to make non-beleivers act like ladies and gentlement so as not to offend the eyes and ears of the members of their churches (who were not "saved" either.

Anyway when John the Baptist went to prison why did not the Activist Jesus go with his disciples go and protest, or hold "sit in's" or lay on the steps of the prison or write letters to the San Hedrin? Why didn't they appeat to the governor or the Roman's -- Surely the death of John the baptist was equal with atleast a single abortion both are murder? Yet Christ did not lift a hand. By the false standards of these Activists -- they would disfellowship Christ over his lack of response in the behalf of John. All Christ would have had to do is go the the governor and have preformed some healing or aomeone in his household some small sign and bammo John would have been free. How much better would it have been (This is not really my thinking) for John the baptist to have become a disciple of Christ, have had all his disciples become christ's followers he could have stood with Christ before pilot.

The point is that Christ was not an activist acting in self interest He sought the word that proceedeth from the Father and was guided by the will of God and as unseemly as it may sound John the Baptist had to die in the hands of sinful men -- Christ declares that that was spoken of John in Scripture.

This is the same reason that Christ could not turn the stones into bread and as the great physician he could not heal himself on the cross

Christ's kingdom was not of this world then and it is not now. And if we are his disciples and followers we are tender sheep following in His footsteps -- Not a bunch of activists trying to force the unsaved to act as if they are saved for our personal vanity and comfort.

I hate to say it, but the headline really got my hopes up for some kind of "made exclusively for Family Christian Stores" playset.

Ping to read later.
