From Kofi Annan's press briefing today....
Q: On the tapes purporting that Saddam Hussein had warned the Americans that a WMD terrorist attack was coming, but not from Iraq. Do you take that seriously, or do you think it's water under the bridge and the whole thing should be forgotten?
SEC.-GEN. ANNAN: I really haven't read in detail all these comments. At this stage, I think we should move on. We have a very challenging situation in Iraq which should be of interest to all of us to do whatever we can to stabilize. I would want to focus on the present and the future.

So, the entire "Bush lied, people died" meme is crumbling, but now it's time to "move on." Forget the truth. Isn't this a central question of the war? Isn't the United Nations at all interested in what happened to the WMD and gaining insight into Saddam's motives?
Of course, Annan's reaction to this answers all those questions.

Liberals always want to gloss over the fact that they're stupid losers. Their liberal socialist "leaders" are especially good at it.
But... who knows if the tapes are real?

The WMD tapes.....could this be what the media is trying to drown out with the Cheney "birdshot" obsession?

So, the entire "Bush lied, people died" meme is crumbling, but now it's time to "move on." Exactly--now it's "time to move on," which it wasn't right up to the second before these tapes (which I have questions about) became known.
It's as if they all KNOW Bush didn't lied, and at the first hint that there might be evidence of that, they silently admit to themselves that the jig is up.
If these tapes turn out to be false, though, watch for it suddenly to be time to re-examine the Bush Administration decision to go to war. Again.

Yeah, we should just "move on" like "MoveOn. whatever".
Saddam only killed a couple of hundred thousand or a million of his own people, etc. Those nerve gases or chemical weapons he used on the Kurds and his own people, they really weren't "weapons of mass destruction".

Kofi and his family were found with their hands in the cookie jar before right? So I can see how the past would be something he doesn't want anyone to pay attention to.

Someone needs to give good ol' Kofi a hard smack upside his brain-housing group.....preferrably with the stock of an M-14.

I can't do that. The password is computer-specific. I've tried accessing it at home and it won't let me.
Sorry.

That's stupid. But we can have endless "Rush Limbaugh" and "Sean Hannity" live threads that don't give readers much of an indication of what is being discussed.
Oh, well. I was just trying to inform my fellow FReepers.
