Markos Moulitsas Zúniga the man that runs the most successful political blog in America can't afford the Blue state of California:
"So I'm getting a little frustrated with the Bay Area real estate market, and for the first time in years I'm casting about the rest of the nation to see if there's anywhere else where I could possibly live."
How ironic,a guy who supports a party that promotes Fannie Mae,Freddie Mac,land-use restrictions, zoning, open space laws, and unions is unable to buy a house in the very Blue area of Northern California.
All this from a guy who's got a law degree...
Did it ever occur to many in Blue state America that Houston(that doesn't have zoning) is a lot more affordable than let's say Berkeley,California.
Houston residents don't have a state income tax that they are paying.
It appears Kos can't afford the very values he promotes, which is regulation of markets which leads to artificially high real estate prices.

The same will be true here in the blue state Northeast. I know too many moveon types who are lementing the fact that thier children will have to move away inorder to find a good job and affordable housing.
The Northeast (NY, RI, MA) - home of leftist Senators Clinton, Schumer, Kerry, Kennedy, Reed, and Chafee (nominally a Republican) - is already losing population:

"Successful" is not my word.
This is a direct quote from the author.
The title is also the same. I see that sometimes the titles are changed by the posting person. Which makes it allot harder to do a pre-post search.
There are many reasons why the best and the brightest leave the highest taxing states.
It is not just the taxes. To have to deal with the union mentality is frustrating and a waste of time.
The creative minds leave the bureaucratic lumps for places with hope and opportunity.
The only ones who do well in big zoning states and counties are the lawyers, land use planners, and other such experts.
They all deserve each other.
How ironic that all these things Kos supports are the reason why he can't afford to live there.
Then this idiot will move to a normal place with his liberal ideas...and then screw up that state, too.
Lots of Californians have moved to ( and destroyed) Seattle, Denver, Montana, Arizonia...
He should stay in the place where he made his mess.
These days I see a California license plate and it's all I can do to keep from rolling down the window and screaming "Go home, we don't want your kind here". An unfair assessment I know because there are lots of good conservative Californians, but they're not the ones moving here.
They don't call it Kalifornication for nothing.

I thought Seattle was screwed up by Canada by some sort of contact high.
I read on someone's blog that Dailykos is estimated to get more hits than the top 6 conservative blogs combined. According to TTLB's "ecosystem" (which I think ranks blogs based on the number of links) Dailykos is the number three blog on the internet. Anyway you slice, he's successful.
Leftists are a plague. Like locusts, once they finish feeding on an area to its demise, they move on to find and feed again.
The taxes and the other economic forces of big government have pushed up the cost of living so high in California that even this "successful" person can not afford the expenses.
Now he is likely headed to Arizona, Washington, or Colorado, with his big tax and spend ideas.
Second, if he is successful with zoning changes, "free" health care, big union ideas...
Hey! Hush your mouth!
We don't want the jerk in Texas!
He should move to Cuba.
"Free" health care, government owned real estate, government housing, "free" schools...
And take the liberals from Hollywood, San Fran, Eugene, Seattle, Austin...with him.
My DH and myself are two of the conservative Californian's who moved to AZ 12 years ago; the first order of business: New license plates. And, no, we don't want the libs coming here, either... I'm getting pretty fed up with the Democratic Talking Point letters to the editor over the past six months.
The liberals have been invading every state.
