When Charles Henrickson suggested earlier today that I do a DUmmie FUnnies Year In Review featuring the Best of the DUmmie FUnnies for the past year, my first reaction was one of a weary groan. The reason is that I am filling in on some business for a friend so he can take a vacation this week. Little did I know when I made the committment that I would end up sleep deprived and EXHAUSTED. Thus my hestitation to take up the DUmmie FUnnies Year In Review project.

However, my SECOND thought is that this is a great way to get YOU all to do the work. Yes, it is up to all of YOU to list (with links) your favorite DUFU editions with selected DUmmie quotes. This way all of you can participate. Also I can get some rest until the regular DUFU editions start next Monday.

Way too many good ones from which to decide. I personally liked the Stevo dating threads where he dives into the DUmpster for advice. The "I was going to give her a kiss but she stopped me because she said she had a cold sore" line was the funniest I've read on the DUmmie FUnnies. Also admitting that she had probably "dated hundreds of guys" had me reeling. Add the two statements together and mix in "should I ask her on a 2nd date?" and you see how clueless these DUmmies are.

The Will Pitt threads are also good. The World will change parts I, II, III, IV,...are great to read as the DUmmies' blind faith of the great pontificator never stops. Either that or they're afraid of being tombstoned for voicing any opposing thoughts. Pitt's boasting of his fashion sense while wearing a pink "cowboy" outfit was also priceless.

While not really comical, the thread where the DUmmies are boasting about who is using the most anti-depressant meds shows how screwed up they are. That and saying that the world would be better if they practiced "voluntary human extinction" (aka suicide) in order to save "Mother Earth" shows how whacked those people are.

Thanks PJ for all the time you invest in coming up with these hilarious threads. Am looking forward to more good material in 2006 and beyond.

Its Christmas Eve - I've been gone 7 days - there is no food in the house and I've settled for beer I don't like.

I login to FreeRepublic and the first thing I find is DUmmies FUnnies review and I start remembering all your great funnies. Even the beer tastes better.

I still consider the best one where the DUmmies were "deeply saddened"--that was right at the end of the year, very late December 2004, and until the exposure of that, uh, scam in April 2005, that one edition of the DUmmie FUnnies had been the most-read and most-commented-upon.
