Let the obligatory thunderous, self-righteous editorializing over Bill O'Reilly's recent San Francisco tirades begin, the Radio Equalizer can't wait. Why?
Because Bugs Bunny will prove them all wrong. How is that, you say (with a puzzled look)?
To put to rest the idea television talk shows have made the medium less "responsible" and "civil", only Bugs can help.
Think cable talk shows are over the top? Just get a load of what passed for children's programming 50 years ago. The Radio Equalizer thanks Perry Simon for this history lesson, more on Bugs in a moment.
Already, San Francisco County Supervisor Chris Daly is calling for O'Reilly to be fired, citing the "R" word. In liberalspeak, "responsibility" means remaining poltically correct.

Bill O'Reilly's heart is in the right place but when he starts talking constitutional law or economics I shake my head and change the channel. He is almost always wrong and totally obstinate that it's the other guy who is wrong. He refuses to listen to anyone really trying to enlighten him. It's a bad quirk.
Our group calls him "Bill O'Really?"
Bill is the Jerry Springer of the FNC. He is a pompous ass who would lecture Einstein on what he really meant with his theories. Rumor has it he paid several million to squash his sexual harrasment by telephone suit. Wonder why he demands every body appear on the F---Factor and air their dirty laundry but yet his lawsuit is forbidden territory.
"He refuses to listen to anyone really trying to enlighten him"
Thats the worst part - he always manages to interrupt his guests when I find their commentary interesting. Just shut up and let them speak Bill.
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Thanks for the ping!
That's the point -- no one is allowed to be more interesting than Bill on Bill's show.
I've heard that in the golden age of the Tonight Show, comics were discreetly warned, if they got invited over tho the couch, not to be funnier than Carson -- at least not if they wanted to be invited back.
