It is almost impossible to pick up a newspaper or magazine or watch TV without someone predicting that we are living in the Last Days. This has been particularly true in view of the numerous national disasters which have occurred over the past year. The signs that the pundits and televangelist point to are all supposedly Bible based prophecy. That being the case, it is entirely appropriate to go to the Bible and see exactly what it says concerning the last days and the context in which the statements are made.

I'll ask my grandma. She was convinced the last days were upon us in 1953.

You obviously have an outstanding memory concerning knowledge of scripture. Now take the time to refresh your memory.

When I was in high school in the early 70's I attended a fundamentalist church. Even then, they said the signs had come together for the second coming of Christ and the latter days.
I think Christ chuckles at those who worry about the latter days and thinks we should focus on being good Christians and following the faith.

I guess you could argue that we are always living in the last days.
Anyone who has read the Bible knows it says very clearly that no man knows the day that it (the last day) will come to fruition.
Yes, I know there are signs but it still is in Gods time and that is unknown to us.
The bottom line you better be ready.

We have a fixed-rate. Funny how the world never ends before the mortage payment is due, huh? All that talk of nuclear war, back when I was in college, and here I am 20 years later still writing checks.

If the Hildabeast is elected in 2008, that's the end of the world as far as I'm concerned.
