Free health care = no health care.
Free housing = run down shack - most of which have electricity.
Free educations = means learning to be a doctor so you can become a can driver.
No class society = everyone is poor

State sanctioned murder? This person is literally insane. If Cuba is so great, why the heck can't they make the d#$% part for the machine themselves?

My question is, if it's such a paradise, why'd they come back here?

The internet must be a wonderful thing for oppresive governments. They can now send infiltrators to the USA while keeping them safe from defecting.

In my limited experience in the classroom, one kid in ten is simply an asshole, plain and simple. One asshole in a classroom is fine. Two is the same classroom is still manageable if you can keep them separated and away from easily-distracted students or those the assholes like to bully. At a 15:1 ratio, you've got an excellent change of being in one of these two situations. Anything above 25:1 and you've got a really good chance of having three assholes in the same classroom, which is very difficult to manage as they keep double-teaming you. In my extensive experience, one public school teacher is three is a clueless idiot...making the kids' odds a lot worse than the teachers'. ;)
The self-delusion in that post is remarkable. Of course there are good things in Cuba, but that is because of the resilience of its people in spite of the heavy yoke of Communist rule, not due to anything created by the Castro regime.

It is interesting that loathing for little brother Raul is so pervasive that the Cubans make no bones of telling even known foreign fellow travelers. Raul is poised to elevate himself into being the next 'Maximum leader' as he is the Minister of National Defense. However, if the com tempt for him has trickled down to the general populace the inner party must contain as many opponents of Raul as allies. The bottom line is when Fidel kicks off there could easily be a situation resembling the end of the Ceausescu regime in Romania.

Aprox. 20 years ago Castro had a fishing tournament and Mr. Ditter went with some friends. He said there were shops with nothing in the window except a couple of pairs of Russian boots. There was absolutely NOTHING to buy. Every foreigner had someone watching them and showing them around, there definitely were places you were not allowed to go. He said of the Cubans on the street, no one smiled, ever.

Never been to Cuba, but I've been to East Berlin, shortly before the wall fell.
If Communism is so great, why is it that the wall was only built to work one way? It wasn't built to keep people out, only to keep them in.

Hello everyone,
I am a member of a peace group in my town and a friend of mine just got back from Cuba. She went with a non profit organizationt [t]o build playgrounds for children. It was supposed to be a non-political trip. Here are the observations she brought back to our group. Here's the big red herring staring us all in the face. Why does Cuba need volunteers to come from the US and build playgrounds?

She went with a non profit organizationt o build playgrounds for children. The workers paradise is unable to provide playgrounds on their own?
My friend said it seemed as though debate is very much alive in Cuba
But if you debate in opposition to Castro you go to jail.
My friend aske dwhy he doesnt just pocket the money and he said " I believe it is wrong to make a profit and leave my co-workers behind."
The real answer is, 'if I got caught I would go to jail.'
Also, she said that many in Cuba told her being gay is no big deal, and She staye dnear a gay club that was open at all hours of the night. So all of the capitlaist fear mongering about Cuba hating gays appears to be trash.
I heard a report on NPR Monday evening from Cuba about the poor treatment of gays and their complaint that they have "no clubs of their own." And that what they have to do is congregate in a public square and before long the police break it up and arrest many of them. Would NPR lie to us about this? Or would the DUmmie lie about it?
Also, she said she never saw any large gap between classes in Cuba.
Yes, the misery is spread equally.

Not only do their opinions prove their stupidity, their gross spelling and grammatical mistakes confirm it. The stupefying naivete of these cretins defies all credibility. If I didn't know better I would swear the letter and follow on comments were written by some Freeper with a good sense of humor. How in the world do they explain people building boats out of cars in order to escape such an amazing paradise?
