How long do you have to keep relying on your skin color in order to justify your ignorance, hostility, and blame? When will you ever stop looking in the mirror and saying, Im black. And because Im black, I have good reason to hate you and the world? Hurricane Katrina was not created by President Bush calling to out to the gods in the backyard of the White House and demanding black people to be devastated. Let me just say this: black people were not the only people who were affected by the hurricane. Yet, here we are, focusing only on the color of someones skin and making a natural disaster about Being Black. Its time black people got over themselves and stopped blaming everyone else for their own misfortune. Has anyone stopped to think about those people who lost everything in Mississippi? No, because black people will not allow us to look beyond them. They are making it political. They are making it about them, about their ancestors, about their heritage, about how the President allegedly hates blacks. I cant say it enough: Get Over It. Stop blaming. Stop criticizing. Stop whining. Stop complaining. Stop hurting your own race. There are thousands of Americans who suffer needlessly on a daily basis, and it has nothing to do with the color of their skin. Black people and Latinos have more privileges than whites, but yet they can still find ways to moan and groan about Woe Is the Black Person. You have Affirmative Action that REQUIRES companies to hire you over someone else who may be better qualified. You have special college funds. You get better home loan rates. But guess what? How would the black person react to the White College Fund? Or National White Month? Whites cant do that. We cant be proud of who we are or our heritage. We have to be punished for history. We have to shut our mouths and let you act foolish and make ignorant, cruel comments that insult everyone else. If you think I hate blacks because of what Im saying, its the complete opposite. I can see the color of your skin, but I look beyond that. I look for the interior of the person. Color means nothing to me. Its about who you are. And I get tired of hearing black people talk about how they feel the same way, but when something goes wrong, its because they are black. A friend of mine who is black recently experienced a potential serious illness with her brother who lived over a hundred miles away. He was in the hospital and having tests ran. But when she couldnt get the answers she wanted right then and there, she started screaming into the phone, Does that hospital hate black people? Black had nothing to do with it. And right then and there, I lost some respect for her. I thought she was beyond all that black-white garbage. I was wrong. Im not saying all black people are like this, in fact, I know plenty who arent. But its the ones who get on the radio or TV and make their race look foolish that makes me irritated. Little do minorities know, that its the Democratic Party that keeps them oppressed, while Republicans try to make them independent, worthwhile citizens. But if you allow the government to keep taking care of you, you will never know how to take care of yourself. President Bush is not a prejudice man, and its almost comical how anyone can say such a thing. If you know politics, take a look inside his administration. See how many minorities are in high positions like no other administration before him! And yet, some have the gall to say he wont talk to the blacks. There it is, in black and white: Ignorance. As for the hurricane, it was terrible and heartbreaking, but above all, it was not a political move. It wasnt to hurt any race. Instead of looking at the circumstances or how the government operates in the event of such disasters, you will see that all that was needed to be done was done to the best of their ability. No one sat back and said, Ah, its just a bunch of poor black people: Let them rot. Come on! If you believe that, then there truly is something wrong with your perception of reality and the world. Lets get on with living. Lets get on with living together. United. Beyond the color of our skin. Lets let go of history and not repeat it. Lets start acting like we care about one another. Lets stop playing the role of victim and the abuser. If we really want equality, then whites should be able to have their own month, their own college funds, their own holidays, etc. Or
we could stop all that madness and just let everyone truly be equal, where no one gets special privileges anymore because of what they look like. Thats what Id like to see and experience in my lifetime.
Welcome to FR.
IB4TZ!!!!
I understand your frustration, but paragraphs really do help reading comprehension.
I call a ZOT in the dark...
Welcome to FR, BTW
They've been all over the place today.
Paragraphs would help us all comprehend what you are trying to say........
Welcome to FR.
Hear! Hear!Preach it brother!
Hear! Hear!Preach it brother!
Format it next time.
"How long do you have to keep relying on your skin color in order to justify your ignorance, hostility, and blame?"
... then ...
"Color means nothing to me."
Dumbass. Am I allowed to say that?
Hear, Hear
What he wrote isn't Zot-worthy.
Things like seperate paragraphs and such..
Assuming your post lasts long enough for anyone to read it, 50% won't, because it's all one big block of text..
I know but my kids like the cat with the AK.
It will continue as long as the black is the Nagins of the world and the white is the Blancos of the world.
Paragraphs would help, though.
You do that with a "<" character, followed by a "p" character, followed by a ">" character, with no spaces in between, in your text, wherever you think a new paragraph should be.
It looks like this sort of like this < p> (without the space).
Awesome!
