September 2, 2005 -- Who is jamming communications in New Orleans? Ham radio operators are reporting that communications in and around New Orleans are being jammed. In addition, perplexed ham radio operators who were enlisted by the Federal government in 911 are not being used for hurricane Katrina Federal relief efforts. There is some misinformation circulating on the web that the jamming is the result of solar flares. Ham radio operators report that the flares are not the source of the communications jamming. If anyone at the National Security Agency is aware of the source of the jamming, from direction finding or satellite intelligence, please discretely contact me at waynemadsendc@hotmail.com (from a private or temporary email account). In this case, the Bush administration cannot hide behind national security and it is the duty of every patriotic American to report such criminal activity to the press. Even though the information on the jamming may be considered classified -- it is in the public interest to disclose it. Also, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reporting that no aircraft over New Orleans have been fired on over New Orleans or anywhere else in the area. Are the reports of shots being fired at aircraft an attempt by the Bush administration to purposely delay the arrival of relief to the city's homeless and dying poor? The neocons have turned New Orleans into Baghdad on the Mississippi.

If I might quote Woody Allen from the movie Annie Hall:
"...I have to go now...because I, I'm due back on the planet Earth."

I'd wondered why we weren't hearing anything about ham radio operators.

Please. We all know. Bush's weather machine as adverse side-effects.

Yeah, I'm sure the NSA will get right on that...
But then since we know the Federal government has been glacial in their response to Katrina, there's really no conceivable way the NSA could be there yet anyway...is there?

Ham radio operators are NOT reporting any jamming in NO. You can check with SATERN in the area, that's the SA's ham radio network, which is set up in the area.

This guy was also saying yesterday that GIs in Iraq and Afghanistan were engaging in mutiny demanding to come home and help the Katrina relief.
Haha, the DUmmies take him as Gospel.

This guy is looney....I investigated this...listened on line and found NO ham operators were being jammed. However, I understand the Navy may have been jamming trying to get all on one frequency.

Headline News - Top Stories Ham Radio Operators Pitch In To Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort General Interest 09/07/2005 With communications out all over New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, the professionals are turning to amateurs to be their ears to what's going on in the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Local operators say they've been in touch with people in and around New Orleans since the beginning of the ordeal. Ed McLaughlin, of Kennewick, says in the days that followed the disaster, he was able to help a family in Medford, Ore., get an update on how their relatives were. He's provided similar contact for a family in Chicago. The reason-- ham radio, which is able to get in places that have no other means for communication when land-based infrastructure fails. Ham radio has been such a success during these recent days that FEMA and the Red Cross are now using it as their primary mode for communication until other modes of communication are restored.
