Have you ever seen The Magic Christian?

Is this the one with Ringo Starr and Peter Sellers?  I saw this on TV uncut thru some Canadian station that was, for a while, able to be picked up in the Detroit area.  I remember that 2 guys from Monte Python were writers for it.

Not an original thought in anyone head involved with this movie, but it was fun.

mmmmmm .... seems to me that someone with a Apple laptop, without a network connection, could upload a virus into the mainframe of an alien spaceship from millions of light years away was pretty original.  Stupid and impossible, but original.

The John Carpenter remake of The Thing may be more faithful to the original story, but is an inferior film in nearly every level except a technical one. In fact, I consider it to be the single most overpraised science fiction film of all time.

I just bought the Outer Limits on DVD this year. Must have spent about $125.

Love that show - have a bunch of them on VHS from Sci-Fi Channel Marathons. Fun to play "how did they spend the 50 bucks this week?" :)

One or two clunkers, but mostly thought-provoking stuff. Too many good ones to mention.

I agree with you, RightWingAthiest. Carpenter had to know that he could not come close to competeing in the overlapping dialog/character department. Which is probably why he went overboard on the special effects and kept the dialog to a minimum.

"The Thing From Another World" is a Stand~Alone Textbook Classic that has yet to be surpassed for Atmosphere, Style and Dialog.

Pay attention to the scene wher The Thing is dowsed with kerosene and touched with a Flare Pistol. The flames surrounding The Thing is the only lighting used and it still makes people jump!

Ever see Screamers? (another Dick adaptation). IMO, regardless of how you feel aboout the actual adaptation, his works have made pretty much 100% kick ass movies...
