Catholic youth camp where Sheehan worked as a counselor and organized youth retreats.

When Cindy Sheehan worked as a youth minister, Casey helped found the church's youth group and remained active even after graduating from high school.

I don't think she has had a job for a long time other than trying to impeach the President.

Cindy Sheehan

"'We're watching you very carefully and we're going to do everything in our power to have you impeached for misleading the American people,' she said, quoting a letter she sent to the White House. 'Beating a political stake in your black heart will be the fulfillment of my life...,' she said, as the audience of 200 people cheered." - Cindy Sheehan, President of Gold Star Families for Peace, an organization whose membership includes relatives of more than 50 soldiers who died in Iraq.

Type: D - Dissolution without kids

To say the least, an unusual way of putting it, jarringly so in a legal document.

Dissolution without children.

Additionally, the name Cindy is usually a nickname for the more typical given name Cynthia. Unless the name Cindy, not Cynthia, is on her marriage certificate, this also looks odd.

She claims she's a great Catholic. If they're really divorcing, then this will go on her "record".

(Divorce is "allowed", but only when staying together may offend God's love... at least as I understand the rule.)

Maybe we have FReeper with knowledge of Californian family law who could verify the customary phrasing in a divorce petition.

What relevance does this have as to why she's in Crawford now?

Total relevance.
This fruitcake is blaming all her troubles on Bush, the death of her son and the war.

Obviously her neuroses, the real cause of her problems, started a long time before either happened.

Watch her blame the President for the break up of her marriage.

You are correct about the name, although there are people whose given name is "Cindy." Given her age, however, I am inclined to think it likely that Cynthia is hear real first name.

I remain suspicious.

Well, we may have to verify her full name before marriage. Many states have vital statistics records available online.

I have never been divorced, but don't you have some time between when it is filed and when the person is served?

This (assuming it is legit) says it was filed on Friday, August 12th. Perhaps she hasn't been served yet? I doubt the CA courts chase down people who are out of the state to serve them divorce papers. Perhaps she doesn't even know?

The actual site is:

http://courtconnect.solanocourts.com/pls/bprod_cc/ck_public_qry_doct.cp_dktrpt_frames?case_id=FFL087021

It appears to be the Solano County Superior Court public website. It appears that the site is run by SCO / Banner, not the court staff.

Here is a typical Calendar for a courtroom in Orange County which is produced by court staff:

http://www.occourts.org/calendars/alphafaml/16-AUG-2005L68.lis

Note that DW stands for Disso w.o. Children and
DC stands for Disso w. Children

At least in California, she call herself anything she wants. She just has to answer to any name she has called herself, ever.

No knowledge of CA family law here, but for what it’s worth, google finds exactly one instance of “dissolution without kids.”

By contrast, “dissolution without children” turns up thousands.

I'm divorced & I can't remember whether I was formally served by a Sheriff or if my ex served me. I know I dropped the divorce I filed years earlier, cuz I couldn't work up the guts to serve my ex. LOL

Service is the responsibility of the filing party, not the court, cuz it's a civil action. The state of California makes the laws (rules), each county adds their own rules to that & the individual bringing the court action has to follow all of the particulars about service to meet the court's requirements.

But you're right, there's a good possibility that she has not been served yet.

Due to that phrasing, this needs more verification. In any legal doucument that I have seen relating to familiy matters, the word "children" is used. Mabye it an anomaly. Regardless, this prompts some more investigation.
