A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today called on law enforcement authorities to treat an assault this morning on a Virginia Muslim woman as a hate crime.
The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) reported that a 23-year-old Muslim woman, who is 8 months pregnant and wears and Islamic head scarf, said she was out for her morning walk in Arlington, Va., when three white men in a pick-up truck began screaming anti-Muslim and racist slurs at her. According to the victim, the men shouted, "You terrorist b- tch, go back to your country. . .You n-gger b-tch." (The woman is African-American.)
The truck drove away and then returned as the woman continued on her walk. One of the men, who was wearing military-style clothing, allegedly got out of the vehicle and began shoving the woman and preventing her from moving away. During the assault, he shouted, "You terrorist b-tch. . . We're going to kick you're a- s. . . you're nothing." The other men then called the attacker back to the truck and it sped off.
"We believe these types of incidents are the direct result of the growing level of virulent anti-Muslim rhetoric Americans are exposed to on the Internet, in newspaper editorial pages and on radio talk shows," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Our nation's political and religious leaders must begin to challenge Islamophobic hate-mongers."
"This is not to deny the obvious fact that our terrorist enemies are almost uniformly Islamic. But to make the leap that all Muslims are therefore terrorists is not even close to justifiable. Sorry, but I'd rather leave that form of bigotry to folks like David Duke."
And to ignore islamic teachings is to fall into the ineffective hand wringing camp of a Neville Chamberlain. islam teaches there are no innocents. All infidels are targets, because all infidels are combatants.
In any war, all members of the enemy are not violent, or evil. There were Germans who were good kind people. Same for the Japanese.
So, we shouldn't have fought them, because there were good members of their society?
Your kind of logic is what allowed the holocaust to happen. You need to reexamine your "bigotry" rhetoric and look at reality.

Some men deserve talking down too though. Some will get on their sanctimonious horse and deride women at every opportunity. I suspect they have been burned in a relationship and haven't recovered fully yet. They say time heals all wounds.

Actually, yes. After the 1947 war the Arab countries threw out over 1,000,000 Jews and confiscated their property. Or Saudi Arabia, where having a bible or believing in a Non-Islamic religion can get you deported, imprisoned or worse.

Wrong question. The right question is, what are they teaching? The biggest murders are dead, but oddly enough, all of the 9/11 hijackers were islamic. But then, you'd say that's simply coincidence. (But to answer the question, it may be more than you think. Do you know how many immigrants may or may not have participated in the long list of terrorist activities?)

muslims are patient, but dedicated foes. There were 8 years between the 1993 WTC bombins and 9/11. How long were they in Britan before they started blowing things up? I go by their teachings. I assume that if called, most will kill infidels to the glory of allah in whatever fashion dictated by their imam.
Realize, I'm not ignorant of muslims. I know far more than I ever wanted to know about them. But, I believe in knowing the enemy.
You can take the high road. You can preach tolerance and love for all and all those great sounding things. And if there are enough people like you, people like me will be negated. And then, you can be sure to get your prayer rug and enjoy your call to prayer 5 times a day. Because if you don't, you'll be dead. That is how they want it, wake up.

The rest of my previous post is rhetorical boilerplate: it is quite effective when you use it to marshal men to a cause.
And blind reliance on such a formulary relieves men of the responsibility for addressing the fundamental morality of the cause they're being marshalled to support.
The trouble is that the underpinnings of your rhetorical boilerplate are directly counter to the principles on which America was founded. Call me old-fashioned if you like, but I'd just as soon stick to those ideals.
