For those watching the DUmmie "William Pitt" this past week was surely a wondrous one, full of explosive fireworks, on the heels of several weeks of utter silence on this subject from the DUmmie "William Pitt."
It appears the DUmmie "William Pitt" finally read what had been said about him.....about four weeks too late.
The guy is hurt, angry, insulted, and it showed.
This is reminescent of a similar event about nine weeks ago, when the acolytes of Andrew Stephenson finally discovered the DUmmie FUnnies, and were alas for them three weeks too late.
One suspects that during his weeks of silence on the matter, the DUmmie "William Pitt" had been ignoring the DUmmie FUnnies, the DUmmie Alert!s, and conservativeunderground, voluntarily unaware that such places were commenting upon his silence.
This has always mystified--and sometimes amused--me, this propensity of some segments in our society to ignore the "political opposition" as if it did not exist, or did not count.
It should be no wonder they keep losing elections.
Okay, so I am a Republican and a conservative, and hang around a great deal on Republican and conservative web-sites.....but I hang around a lot more on Democratic and liberal web-sites, to see what is going on, on the other side of the aisle.
Many people (of all political stripes) tend to hang around those whose values and perceptions match their own, for affirmation of those values and perceptions; by being along with like-thinking people, they feel strengthened, reinforced.
But a truly confident person has no need for "team support;" strong enough in his values and confident of his perceptions, he feels utterly unthreatened scouting around for values and perceptions different from his own.
Perhaps the DUmmie "William Pitt" is unsure and shaky in his own political convictions, and so as to reinforce them, hangs around with his own crowd, fearful of looking into what another crowd is doing or saying, lest his political convictions get shattered.
Which is no sign of a person confident about himself.
And it has obvious disadvantages, not looking at what "other side" is saying or doing.
When the DUmmiette "sfexpat2000" started the fund-raiser the afternoon of April 28, 2005, she should have posted her solicitation in DUmmieland, and immediately parked herself in front of the DUmmie FUnnies, to see what was being said about the matter, from the other side. If she had done that, the acolytes of Andrew Stephenson would have been aware of their missteps, their contradicitons, their omissions, in time to correct such things.
But no, instead, the DUmmiette "sfexpat2000" hung around her own crowd, in the comfortable cocoon of DUmmieland, voluntarily unaware of the furor outside, and the acolytes of Andrew Stephenson were three weeks--three weeks!--three weeks!--three weeks!--too late in seeing what the DUmmie FUnnies were saying about the matter, after which it was far too late to correct matters.
Such behavior--not looking to see what is going on in the great big wide world outside--I had compared with four affluent old dowagers (and remember, with only one exception, the acolytes of Andrew Stephenson are not young) gathering for their Wednesday afternoon bridge game, in an affluent living room with large picture-windows on all four sides.
While the rich old ladies gab and gossip around the card-table, in that living room with large windows all around, a tornado suddenly sweeps though.....and they indignantly wonder what had hit them.
The situation of the DUmmie "William Pitt" is more analogous to that of a post-office clerk in Germany the spring of 1945 (this is a true story, told me a long time ago by a British army veteran who had actually seen the sight); the guy so meticulous, so scrupulous in his duties, that he was unaware of the wider world outside.
While the post-office clerk was noting the number of staples, sheets of paper, various denominations of postage stamps, the metal and paper contents of the till, the British army swept through his town; much destruction, shooting, explosions, buildings falling down.
But the post-office clerk was so diligent in his tasks that he remained oblivious, utterly ignorant, of the noise and tumult and fire and smoke outside his front window, until he had finished accounting for the final pencil-stub and paper-clip.
Only then did he look up, look outside the windows upon his destroyed village, and in stunned shock and awe, stuttered, "What happened?"
I would propose the possibility that in fact he may have developed an infection at Johns Hopkins or developed an infection as a direct result of the prosedures at that hospital. Perhaps if he had not raised the $ and gone to DC but had stayed in Seattle, he might be well on the way to a full recovery at this point in time.
Just something to consider.....
In any case I feel bad for his family.
So are you going to try to go to the service?
If you go to the service I hope you go incognito. Dress like a hippie.
I'm thinking HIV might have played a big part. However, because of the laws on this, it probably won't be revealed.
Some of us will actually say a quiet prayer for Andy's soul.
They won't even acknowledge that benign growths are not cancerous. Just ask DUer Merh, she'll tell ya they are either benign cancerous growths, or malignant cancerous growths. They won't acknowledge that DUer bettyellen said it wasn't pancreatic cancer at all.
I am afraid it is hopeless.
Pitt himself admitted that he got beat on quite a bit in high school. This plays a part in his insecurity and his threats to beat up others. He is trying to compensate for his memories of high school when he got his ass kicked on a regular basis.
You know, in a lot of ways DUmmieland does resemble a high school for middle-aged kids.
There's all sorts of groups and cliques over there.
And right now, the Andyites are the "cool crowd," and you have people like "William Pitt" and the dirty one trying very hard, desperately hard, to be accepted into that "cool crowd."
The tragedy of it all is, that while they may be used by the "cool crowd," they'll never get accepted into it.
In the week leading up to Andy's death, Charles Henrickson CONSISTENTLY wished the best for Andy. This in SHARP contrast to grandstander Pitt who never said a word of encourangement to Andy during the same period EXCEPT for a very brief "Get Well" message on the Andy "Get Well" thread. And this was only AFTER it was noted in the DUFUs how Pitt was giving the cold shoulder to Andy.
"Pitt himself admitted that he got beat on quite a bit in high school. This plays a part in his insecurity and his threats to beat up others. He is trying to compensate for his memories of high school when he got his ass kicked on a regular basis."
I don't doubt this for a second. Also would bet that benburch and goodboy have similar issues. Would explain a lot of the anger before andy's demise.
OK, so I read the letter to the FBI. The only fact I didnt really have at hand was Stephensons association to BBV.
At best improper fund raising on the order of $50K, by a vote fraud huckster, a loony liberal bile spewer, and the owner of a moonbat hangout website. At worst fraud and theft. The money was given by true believers who would have pawned their last bongs and Birks to get the money to give to Stephenson. IMHO It wouldnt have mattered if Stephenson had died (*) by being run over by a truck. These people have a vested interest in not being shown the light if that means painting themselves as bigger fools.
As far as fraud goes, 50K is chicken feed. More people have been taken for far more money since this thread opened this morning. In principal, its always good to expose criminal actions. In practice, though, continuing to highlight this case will strike the passing and semi-interested readers as ghoulish and single-minded.
Perhaps shill and piss off were uncalled for on my part. Perhaps not. This does seem like a manufactured issue to me. One that paints conservatives and FR in a bad light.
The Dummies on the other hand need to look inward.Hey, check this out. Looks like they are following Andy's request to "politicize my plight" - make his illness & death into a plea for universal health care. See this flash memorial by DU's & TakeBackTheMedia's Michael Stinson (aka "symbolman"):

So you admit it looks "at best improper" and at worst like "fraud and theft", then you say WE manufactured the issue? Which one is it?
If you can answer just one question you will reveal your depth of knowledge or lack thereof: Why was the May 10 surgery cancelled? This is an important question, and those of us who have been following this know why and we already know the answer(s).
Could not watch the whole thing, started out ok, though a little tacky, then got pretty sick.
Thanks for posting that. Everyone should try to watch.
"At last count there were almost 200 web sites, Radio programs and periodicals fund raising for the JH surgery. If you believe they only collected 50 grand, I got a rock garden out behind the ranch I'd like to sell ya."
Right, If I remember correctly, $50K is all from the DUmmies. I don't recall seeing any other totals.
Part of the problem all along has been, nobody has any idea exactly how much has been raised! The $56,000+ is only what sfexpat2000 reported on the basis of DUers who bothered to e-mail her with their amounts. That doesn't take into account the DUers who didn't get around to e-mailing her, nor does it take into account all the other moneys that came in from all the other sources--well over 100 websites and organizations carried the appeal.
One of the huge red flags from the get-go was that the money was sent directly to Andy, instead of to a designated trust fund or account at a bank or hospital, which is the way most fundraisers of this type are quickly and easily set up. There was no accountability for the funds raised and spent--this, from the King of Verifiability.
I'm not saying they were corrupt. I am saying that the whole situation was at least mishandled and thus wide open to the appearance of impropriety.
In practice, though, continuing to highlight this case will strike the passing and semi-interested readers as ghoulish and single-minded.
And I was willing to let it rest--until Pitt and others made these wild, hate-filled accusations and threats. It is ludicrous to suggest that any of us here deliberately wanted to cause physical harm to Andy. And it is irresponsible of Pitt to whip up his fellow DUers to hate and want to do harm to those who raised legitimate questions. That is what has been going on intensely since Friday.
To know that would require paying attention, though. Not everyone here has paid attention, lol.
