Well, I finally discovered a rum even better than Flor de Caña Gold slow-aged rum. It is Flor de Caña White extra-dry slow aged rum of which I was slogging down copious quantities on Saturday while cooped up indoors all day due to Hurricane Dennis. Of course, I returned to it again yesterday. When I discovered that I couldn't access the FR, I shut down the 'puter. However, while the 'puter was shutting down, I passed out in my chair and when I woke up some time later I forgot that I had shut down the 'puter. Therefore I started moving my mouse in an attempt to get my screen up again. When that didn't work I passed out for a second time, woke up again, and attempted the same routine again with my mouse. After violently moving my mouse back and forth, it occured to me to check to see if the computer was even on. When I discovered it was OFF all this time, I figured that was enough rum for the weekend so I finally hit the sack. But guess what? I still didn't have the slightest hangover due to the GREAT quality of that rum. And now, unfortunately, I find I only have about a two day supply left in that 1.75 liter bottle. SNIFF!

I sure hope a publisher at least inquires about my book publishing idea that will REVOLUTIONIZE that industry. The ones who should be most interested in such an idea are book authors themselves since it will bring them big flows of revenue again from books they wrote that they long ago gave up any idea of earning further royalties from. I therefore urge Mary Matalin to contact me at PJ-Comix about this idea. Oh, and of course I will also be talking her ears off about a DUmmie FUnnies book (with CD-ROM insert for related comix stories PLUS other goodies) deal.

Let me know if you want on the DUmmie FUnnies PING List.

compromised our national security by blowing the cover of a CIA agent involved in monitoring WMD around the world

Strange.

The Looney Left is complaining about a CIA agent being exposed.

What next? The NAACP complaining about black judges?

Here are the sober facts! This f*cking Administration has probably committed treason, perjury, made a consorted effort to spread misinformation to the press, defrauded OUR government, obstructed justice, compromised our national security

Reading Ron Browns Body right now and that would be a perfect description of the Clinton administration.

My favorite scene was Thornton Mellon pointing out that the economic prof had overlooked a few costs of building a factory: "grease" for the "zoning problems" that always come up, a cut for the bricklayers' union and Teamsters ("I don't know if you know who's behind them, but it ain't the Boy Scouts!"), etc.

Somehow, the DUmmies never seem to get exercised about that sort of corruption.

mitigating psyops impact on civilian institutions. In order to counteract attempts at "velvet revolutions" or undue influence, governments have often been heavy-handed in the dictation of propaganda to media outlets. Because of the role of propaganda, some incursions on civilian media are unavoidable. The question we should really be asking is how to cooperatively ensure objectivity instead of enforcing dogma. After all, foreign governmental influence on the media is even less welcome than domestic governmental influence. Joint civilian and military review panels, discussions about how to detect psyops and false reports, joint media and military investigations, and objectivity standards would be useful if undertaken sincerely. Unfortunately it would be rather pollyanna-ish to assume such could ever be done.

Perhaps I am just a slow-witted red stater, but...what in the h*ll?!?! Should I even try to understand this?

I love that the DUmmies are so blind to what they are doing to turn people off to them that they are going to do it louder and more often.

I will get around to commenting on today's DUFU, but first I think it's important to say this: We need to address what has happened in the Andy Stephenson situation in the several days since the last "DUmmie FUnnies" and "DUmmies Held Hostage" threads were posted. Both DUFU and DUHH had many threads concerning the Andy situation, and thus now certain accusations and threats directed toward us are flying furiously on DU. We could address these new developments by means of new DUFU and/or DUHH threads specifically for that purpose. If either of you, PJ or Frank, is intending to do that, please say so--and approximately when. If you guys are going to be doing threads on this subject, then I will hold my comments until then. Or if you don't intend to do a thread on the subject, please say that, too.

I myself would like to get at the subject via these threads started by Will Pitt on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively:

Say hello to a bottomless rage

For the record

The Best of Us - an essay for Andy

I think I saw Quixote1818 this morning on the way to work. He was the smelly, unbathed, obnoxious guy panhandling at the Metro entrance. He was screaming out similar phrases and arguing with someone about 2 feet in front of him - none of us could see who he was arguing with but HE apparently knew who it was. I guess he logs on to DU at the local public library.
