Pirro Blasts Clinton Viagra Giveaway The New York prosecutor who said this week that she may challenge Hillary Clinton for her Senate seat next year is blasting a Clinton administration program that gave free Viagra to sex offenders, saying it was tantamount to "state-assisted sexual assault." "I am outraged," Westchester County District Attorney Jeanine Pirro told Fox News. "Because we all know that level three sex offenders - and my office prosecutes them all the time - are repeat offenders." Without mentioning Mrs. Clinton or her husband by name, Pirro railed against the government boondoggle, saying, "By paying for their Viagra, it amounts to state-assisted sexual assault." In May 1998 - during the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal - the Clinton Administration told state officials that it "intended to require their Medicaid programs to pay for medically approved uses of the impotence drug Viagra," according to the New York Times. The Clinton Viagra giveaway continued unfettered until this week, when New York State officials discovered that nearly 200 convicted sex offenders were using the program to obtain the impotence drug. Mrs. Clinton's potential challenger said the Viagra program has likely led to further sexual attacks. "My office has prosecuted cases where pedophiles have used Viagra on children, where 86-year-old pedophiles are using Viagra, so they can continue to molest our children," Pirro told Fox. "Shame on us for allowing this to happen," she added. "As long as you have been convicted and are now registered as a sexual deviant, you should not be getting this, because it amounts to the government helping you to assault other victims." In a statement issued earlier this week, Sen. Clinton said she was concerned that the Viagra giveaway "poses safety concerns for the public." But she declined to acknowledge any responsibility for the blunder, insisting instead that the program had been misused. "There is no doubt that the news of sexual offenders receiving Viagra under the Medicaid program is deeply disturbing and runs contrary to the purpose of Medicaid which is to provide health care coverage for uninsured, low-income individuals." Sen. Clinton said she will "explore legislative options to address this issue." On Monday, Mrs. Pirro announced she was considering a run for statewide office, including a possible challenge to the top Democrat.

The best candidate I can see at this point is John Spencer, he was basically the "Rudy Giulani" of the New York suburbs and was an extremely successful and popular Mayor of Yonkers as well as a prosperous banker and decorated Vietnam War Veteran.
Cox would be my second choice but his biggest positive: instance name recongition from being son-in-law of a U.S. President, is also his biggest drawback (Nixon?!)
Pirro should run for A.G. of NY instead of U.S. Senate. The NY Republican Party really NEEDS a credible candidate to take the open seat with Spitzer out of the way, and c'mon, the "Westchester County District Attorney" is much more credible as a candidate for A.G. than a candidate for the U.S. Senate. The idea that she's the "only" candidate who can beat Hillary is silly. First off, ANYONE aside from Rudy is going have a big uphill struggle. Second, she's a little known RINO with a tainted husband. Cox and Spencer are just as credible.
Pirro for A.G. and Spencer for U.S. Senate.
1- The goal here is to preemptively short-circuit the clintons' 2nd assault on this country.
2- RINO is a plus in NY
3- An alleged mob lawyer husband is a step up from a documented rapist husband (and wife) (this, not even beginning to factor in all of his--their--other crimes, betrayals and utter failures)
4- Pirro, having fought for the abused woman for her 30-year career, is the corapist clinton's worst nightmare.
5- Pirro has star power in her own right; and unlike clinton, she also has beauty, eloquence, intelligence, independent achievements, etc. all of which serve only to underscore what an ugly, unqualified zipper-hoisted fishwife clinton is.
WHY JEANINE:
1- The goal here is to preemptively short-circuit the clintons' 2nd assault on this country.2- RINO is a plus in NY
3- An alleged mob lawyer husband is a step up from a documented rapist husband (and wife) (this, not even beginning to factor in all of his--their--other crimes, betrayals, dysfunctions, dangers and utter failures)
4- Pirro, having fought for the abused woman for her 30-year career, is the corapist clinton's worst nightmare.
5- Unlike hillary clinton, Jeanine Pirro has star power in her own right, has beauty, eloquence, intelligence, independent achievements, etc., all of which serve only to underscore what an ugly, unqualified, zipper-hoisted fishwife clinton is.
2- Please explain to former U.S. Senator Al DAmato (R-NY) that he was unelectable and should have stepped aside for electable RINO Jacob Javits. You also might want to explain this concept to former U.S. Senator James Buckley (R-NY)
3- An alleged mob lawyer husband is the EXACT reason why Pirro s attempts to go after the criminal Clinton corruption will backfire as the media skews her own family scandals. Cox and Spencer look like saints in comparison.
4- Pirro, as Westchester County District Attorney who has NEVER been involved in campaigns before, is MUCH better suited to run for the OPEN seat of Attorney General of New York (where the NY GOP desperately NEEDS a credible candidate), than try to seek the U.S. Senate as an entry level position. Cox and Spencer are far more familiar with politics being a bloodsport.
5- The idea that Jeanine Pirro is a household name in NY with star power is pretty silly. Far more people have heard of Richard Nixons son in law than a district attorney from Westchester. And the fact that Mayor John Spencer, a conservative Republican, is venerated in the largely Democrat suburban area of Yonkers, gives him far more star power than Hillary. As a beloved Mayor and decorated Vietnam War vet, he is the very much the suburban version of the Rudy and the kind of saavy pit bull who can put the Clintons in their place on the campaign trail.
HILLARY: A 30-YEAR CAREER ATTACKING AMERICAN TROOPS
Hillary dishonors our troops and Voted YES on granting normal trade relations status to Vietnam. In Washington to begin forming a campaign team, John Spencer said Clinton's questioning of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld at a Senate Armed Services hearing Thursday constituted a "thinly veiled attack" on President Bush and was another example of how Democratic rhetoric on the war is dividing the country. Clinton, a Democrat, asked Rumsfeld to repudiate White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove's remarks this week that liberals are not tough enough on America's enemies. She said the remarks, made at a Conservative Party dinner in New York City, were "insulting" and "disturbing" to people like herself who had "legitimate questions" about the administration's conduct of the war while supporting it. She says we all love our troops. But then to be silent when politicians like (Sen.) Dick Durbin, Howard Dean and Ted Kennedy and John Kerry attack the president, that's really aiding and comforting the enemy," Spencer said. Spencer said he was particularly incensed that Clinton brought up the Vietnam War and its divisiveness while questioning Rumsfeld. Clinton said that she was old enough to remember how deeply divided the country was "and never want to see that again." But Spencer took issue, saying that as a Vietnam veteran he was "appalled that she would raise the fact that our nation was divided during Vietnam, and then proceed to divide us further today." This is just another example of Senator Clinton's attempts to have it both ways; She voted for the war in Iraq, and then bashes President Bush about the war every opportunity she gets. It should have occurred to Hillary that her remarks demoralize the troops, since the vast majority believe in the Iraq cause.
