Quote of the Day - Guess who said this? (regarding Clinton lobbing missiles at Iraq)
Ed Driscoll ^ | 6/21/05

Posted on 06/21/2005 11:41:18 AM PDT by areafiftyone

Guess who said this:

"I call on those who question the motives of the president and his national security advisors to join with the rest of America in presenting a united front to our enemies abroad."
--Senator Dick Durbin, in 1998, defending then-President Bill Clinton, when he attacked Iraq.

But then, he wasn't the only one saying such things back then.

Update: Instalanche! Welcome Glenn Reynolds readers, as well as those of the several other blogs who have trackbacked to this post.

Nice find...isn't shocking though....the Dems all assume that the average Joe American is too dumb to notice or remember the words they use to prove themselves hypcrits.

In the 1990s, President Clinton and his administration released numerous bits of intel and information on Bin Ladin and Saddam Hussein to the press. As a result, The New York Times, as well as Newsweek, and NPR each ran stories documenting his ties to Bin Ladin. Yesterday, the 9/11 commission confirmed those ties, and admonished the press for ignoring them. Was Saddam directly tied to 9/11? President Bush never said he was. But clearly, Iraq and Al Qaeda were quite cozy with each other. Something the press spent the past decade documenting when it benefited one administration, and the past three years chucking down the memory hole when it hindered another.

"the Dems all assume that the average Joe American is too dumb to notice or remember the words they use to prove themselves hypcrits."

The average american doesn't realize that we flew 300,000 flight over the skies of Iraq during the 90's, nor do they remember the DESERT FOX and AL Shifa bombings.

The Dems have been allowed to revise history due to our timid RNC leadership.

I remember when Tom Delay had the nerve to "question" Clinton's impeachment-eve bombing of Iraq; he did nothing more than question the timing of it...as many of us did, because the vote on impeachment was due.

Not only was he ravaged by the Democrats in the media and by the media, he was privately reprimanded by several Republicans and booed in public. Even Stormin' Norman lit up both Lott and Delay for daring to bring politics into the debate when troops were in the field...as did the patriotic, Maxine Waters.

All of this is in stark contrast to everything we have seen from the Mediacrats over the last couple years, who have gone way beyond anything Republicans ever did. Not only are they ignoring these breaches in protocol...they have become defenders of it. The double standards become more glarig everyday.
