On a laptop in his hospital room (yeah, right). And he was allowed to have a cell phone there, too - even though cell phones interfere with some of the equipment! An amazingly privileged patient (whom delivery people could not find at the purported hospital room address, in order to give him franksolich's carefully crafted telegraph).

If this is true as the Andyites claim, then I think it shows a total lack of regard for others in ICU. If he wants to endanger his own life by using a cell phone in ICU, that's his prerogative. But cell phone usage in an ICU could affect all life-saving equipment of other patients. THAT is why it would never be allowed.
