DUmmieland is in an uproar because the Leftwing TomPaine.Com website published an article claiming that there was NO vote fraud conspiracy in Ohio. This is heresy in the eyes of the DUmmies because one of their most treasured beliefs is that the EVIL Republicans STOLE the election by rigging the votes in Ohio. One side effect of this belief is that it made Bev Harris a very rich woman since she scammed the DUmmies for at least $300,000 by making them think she was only $10 away from proving vote fraud in Ohio. There are actually two DUmmie threads expressing their OUTRAGE over the TomPaine.Com article. The first THREAD is titled, "What Didn't Happen in Ohio This article DEMANDS a response! and the second THREAD is simply titled, TomPaine.com: What didn't happen in Ohio. Both these threads have the typical lunatic DUmmie responses so both will be DUFUed. As usual, the rantings of the DUmmies unable to let go of their sacred Ohio vote fraud beliefs are in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, with $10 in his pocket that he did NOT send to Bev Harris, is in the [brackets]:
For casting doubt on the conspiracy theory, TomPaine.com and I received virtual barrels of e-mail, most from angry anti-Bush activists who could not believe that their hard work had been for naught. I also heard from Steven Freeman, a University of Pennsylvania professor and author of a widely cited study that served as the primary basis for the pro-theft-theory folks, The Unexplained Exit Poll Discrepancy . His remarks, and my response to them, appeared on TomPaine.com.
[For casting doubt on the Ohio vote fraud conspiracy, I brand you a HERETIC!!! Let the Auto Da Fe begin!]
Privately, I heard from many Democratic officials, election reform advocates and analysts from inside Ohio and elsewhere, who believed my reporting to be accurate, and who were more than a little perturbed by the frenzy, which they found a counterproductive distraction from the serious ongoing effort to reform election practices. Since the debate refuses to die, this seems a good time to trumpet the arrival of not just one, but two, new technical analyses that cast further doubt upon the conspiracy theories out there. The author of the first is an earnest young fellow in San Diego named Rick Brady.
[Privately Ive heard that the only loons left believing in the Ohio vote fraud conspiracy are the DUmmies and Teh-RAY-suh Heinz.]
So, absent the emergence of true polling methodology experts screaming theft, we may reasonably conclude that no evil genius rigged the results. Instead, what we experienced was probably an amalgam of system failings, miscalculations, incompetence, and, in some cases, the variably successful exertions of biased election officials. These are, at worst, symptoms of gaming the system, a deplorable practice hardly limited to this election or, historically, to one party. The anomalies being cited, including by Christopher Hitchensapparently without any notable independent verificationin a widely cited Vanity Fair piece, may prove to be invalid, or attributable as well to other factors. Perhaps fraud occurred on an isolated basis, but no one has come forward with careful documentationas opposed to hystericalunscientific allegation.
[No! No! Dont wanna hear this! Dont you know that Karl Rove was the EVIL genius that rigged the election?]
Until the public becomes confident in the underlying integrity of the electoral apparatus in this country, none of the urgently needed improvements to that system can take place. Thats why the conspiracy-mongering must cease. Can we instead please turn now to the many substantive proposals already being proffered to make things betterincluding pending legislation? Lets keep our eye on the real ball thats in our court.
[Hey! Dont tell me when I have to cease my mongering! Now that we have seen portions of this article, let us now take a look at the DUmmie outraged reaction to it.]
Bullshit! I saw it with my own eyes. I heard it w/ my own ears. I live in Columbus, Ohio too.
[And I saw space aliens land on Washington Mall with my own eyes. I heard it w/ my own ears. I live in the state of Insanity.]
Congratulations! More self-defeating bullshit, naysaying. Wunderbar!
[When even the far left TomPaine website thinks that the DUmmies are a bunch of moonbats, you know they are really far gone.]
Two very close elections. Two Republican Secs of State. Both Republican Secs of State doing double duty as Bush's state campaign chairs. Diebold machines manufactured and in use in key counties in both states. Big GOP donors running Diebold. Not least, a strong racist undertone re voter-access -- longer lines in heavy black precincts, etc. In sum, that is the infrastructure of cheating. Bush-Cheney cheated. Kerry-Edwards won.
[You certainly do present a convincing case . that your oxygen supply was turned off at a young age.]
WE ARE NOT GOING TO STOP UNTIL JUSTICE IS DONE!
[THE COMEDY WILL NEVER END!]
I just emailed Russ Baker begging him to tell me this is satire.
[So sorry. Its the bitter truth.]
my response is that he's right on And I would add that I've suspected for a long time that some of the "activism" is actually intended to deliberately create and nourish unwarranted distrust in the system for malicious reasons.
[And this Dummie wins a Kewpie doll for having a very brief moment of mental clarity!]
Put me on the ping list also. I am not one to pass up a good drama.
You know how all of these DUmmies are so willing to show up everywhere to protest, I am suprised a bunch of Maryland or DC area DUmmies did not organize to welcome Undie at his arrival at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Thank you.
Now, this is entertainment.
Too bad I was tombstoned over there. I could soak these idiots for some cold hard cash and donate it to the RNC.
BWAAAHAHAHAHA!!
But the day is long yet.
Am I on the list, sir? If not, make sure to add me! Thanks!

stellanoir (1000+ posts) Mon May-09-05 02:43 PM Original message Andy is apparantly having a hassle. . .can we calmly be supportive of him? For those who didn't see the other threads that were locked. . .and in complete accordance with DU rules. . .pullease do not incite harrassment here.Enough money was raised out of the kindness and generosity of many to afford Andy Stephenson his much needed "Whipple Procedure." though he was scheduled for the procedure to be performed today, Paypal said that he couldn't access the funds for the procedure for several days. John Hopkins needs the money up front. He had said something about Paypal accusing him of fraud. I can only speculate but given all the work he did for our democracy, gratis. And what he's gone through over the past 6 months or so. It's probably some clerical or accounting error. Bottom line is that he needs this hassle like he needs a hole in the head. The customer service number for Paypal is 888-221-1161. Consider gently reminding them in a polite manner that they have his funds and that he needs them desperately.Be nice let's not get this locked.
Well, still waiting to hear about the $50,000.....
"Harrassment." "Acussing him of fraud." "Be nice." Could it be, crack are starting to form in the foundation of this scam? Could it be, that a light bulb (however dim) could be going on in some DUmmies' heads?
If Paypal is hang on to the funds suspecting fraud, he can kiss acess to them goodbye unless he can document what they are for. Which, if legitimate, should not be too hard.
Oh this is getting better & better!
That's his name :)
You know, it's probably some sort of standard PayPal policy that there's a waiting period--something the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson of course would have known for quite some time, seeing as how he's used it constantly for receiving "contributions" since at least January.
The DUmmie stories keep changing--note that this DUmmie mentioned the surgery was scheduled for today (Monday), when in all other posts, it had been scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday).
The money on Monday, the surgery on Tuesday.
Besides the "warm" photographs posted on a previous DUMMIE ALERT! so as to touch the heart, there were earlier postings in DUmmieland today describing in gruesome detail the surgical procedure--obviously not for illumination, but more so to tug at the heart-strings, about what the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson is going to endure, and what a fine hero he is.
I suspect--although I am not God; far, far, far from it--there is going to be a "build up" of sympathy for the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson, so the DUmmies will be so sorry for his plight they will not "hurt" when the scam is exposed.
As I understand this, Andy supposedly has pancreatic cancer. Usually a cancer diagnosis comes with a 'stage factor' which sort of defines how advanced it is. I haven't delved into these threads deeply on DU, but I haven't seen any mention as to what 'stage' this cancer is. Anyone seen this?
National Institute of Health Numbers
Estimated new cases and deaths from pancreatic cancer in the United States in 2005:
New cases: 32,180.
Deaths: 31,800.
Andy should have picked something else. If he truly does have pancreatic cancer, he is pretty much doomed. If he does not, then he is scamming the DUmmies.
This reeks of a "holding action," because the money isn't really there, I suspect.
Either the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson has cheated PayPal before, or his DUmmie fund-raisers are bringing up a "problem" so as to "buy time" to get more donations--because the $50,000 really isn't there.
Those were my thoughts, even though I didn't express them. My wife passed from cancer, and at one time they suspected pancreatic before the final diagnosis. I looked it up and the odds are very slim for a 6 month survival after diagnosis.
Well at some point, they are going to have to 'put up' or 'shut up'. Either Andy checks into JH and gets his pancreas removed and moves on to post operative cancer treatment, or they have to kill him off.
Allegedly the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson has had "pancreatic cancer" since January, which is a long time ago now. Pancreatic cancer is fast-working, fast-moving.
Pancreatic cancer is a horrid thing to see.
The Washington (state) Department of Social Services offered to have the problem taken care of, probably at Kings County (Washington) Hospital, but n-o-o-o-o-o, the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson had to have "the best," at a hospital with a five-star restaurant menu.
This behavior does not conform with rational behavior.
I am sure that any of the rest of us, stricken with pancreatic cancer and no health insurance, would IMMEDIATELY grasp at all social services medical assistance, no complaints.
Because of the length of time involved here (this has been going on since January, remember), and because of the cavalier attitude the felonious DUmmie Andy Stephenson appears to have had, about pancreatic cancer, there is always the very real chance that he does not have it at all.
But the DUmmies lie so much even their lies cannot be trusted to be lies.
It may seem harsh of me to "doom" Andy, but it is true. Pancreatic cancer is probably the worst to have. My son Alex died of cancer. I have seen what cancer can do to a loved one close up. If he is truly sick, I wish him the best and hope for a recovery. If this is a scam and each day I am more certain it is, I have nothing but contempt and disdain for someone who would used the pretense of cancer to scam fools out of their money.
Some people are so stupid, they deserve to get fleeced, but this does not make it right.
A few months from now, they will get fleeced again by the Hillary Legal Defense Fund.
So have I, and if this is a scam, it is one of the sickest I have ever seen. If not, Andy has a long row to hoe.
