It is almost laughable that the ACLU thinks it has any ground to walk on, much less any authority, to have any say on what is moral or immoral. The ACLU's ideas of morals are quite the opposite of most Americans. Here are just a few examples of the ACLU's morals. Defending America's enemies, helping illegals cross the border, defending the "rights" of child molesters, advocating the legalization of ALL drugs, and advocating the legalization of the distribution and possession of child porn. ......just to name a few.

And then they have the gall to call prayer immoral! And the hypocrisy has many levels. Sher Zieve points out much of the hypocrisy well....

"The ACLU is still hot on the trail of those who would dare offer any prayer, whatsoever, in public schools. But, as has become its norm, the ACLU’s campaign against God is relegated only to ‘Christian prayer’ and Christianity. This “great protector of our civil rights” (all sarcasm intended) has yet to challenge any Muslim prayers that have now been mandated by many California public schools. For the ACLU, Islam is allowed but, Christianity is forbidden.

In its recent lawsuit against Louisiana’s Tangipahoa Parish School, the ACLU is calling for the fining and imprisonment of the school’s Board “for their calculated un-American and immoral conduct to embarrass, hinder or obstruct the court in the administration of justice." To the ACLU, God is now “un-American” and “immoral”. The first reason for this latest ACLU contempt charge is due to Shane Tycer (not a school employee) broadcasting a prayer (Christian of course…not Muslim) over the school’s public address system...

Yeah, the ACLU really can define what is "un-American" and "immoral" !!! The TRUTH is the ACLU defines "unAmerican" and "immoral". When will the ACLU declare prayer an immoral act? A "hate crime"?

Man, if the PEOPLE don't shout objections and rally opposition against the ACLU, they will deserve the irreversible consequences of the ACLU's subversivion.

Does anyone remember the adage about Soviet communism?

The ACLU inverts morality to mean immorality; inverts Americanism to mean unAmericansim. Read Orwell's *1984* for a sense of the devious mechanics of Newspeak and of concept inversion. It's BRAINWASHING and THOUGHT CONTROL.

The ACLU and its leftist comrades engage in Rhetorical Terrorism. Better arm yourselves with precise word usage and clarified definitions to counter ACLU bombs. Also, remember Wm Clinton's infamous "...it depends on what *is* is.

Why not have a FR petition or class action suit demanding the ACLU remove "American" from its title, and replacing it with the SS? (SSCLU) Soviet Socialist Civil Liberties Union, e.g., or the Anti-American Socialist Union (AASU), or? There are more socialist/communist front orgs using "democratic" and "freedom" and "liberty" in their deceptive names than you can count.

CAVEAT! The ACLU is a communist political party foregoing the American political electorial process by using the legal system to impose its subversive agenda. BE AWARE...

Jay, is it significant that the nazi-bully ACLU ONLY attacks Christians? NOTE: Like fascist stormtroopers, the ACLU emulates the intimdations and antagonistic tactics of the early Nazi party scapegoating Jews. The ACLU doesn't address the "immorality" of Muslim prayers nor its lack of American affinity, do they? Because, the ACLU are bullying cowards. Muslims would simply decapitate criticizing ACLU bully-members. I just found out that there is no word, nor concept, in Arabic for "citizen." I'd expect our good Jewish Americans would stand-up to the ACLU's persecuting every vestige of Christianity. We don't have to apologize that America is a nation was founded by and developed on Christian moral philosophy/theocracy and TRUE liberalism.

Liberalism does not seek a libertine society.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, formerly of the ACLU, has given a speech about how proper it is for the Supreme Court to look at other nations' law when they try to interpret our Constitution.

You can get a sense of her worldview by merely looking at the title of her lecture: ""'A decent Respect to the Opinions of [Human]kind': the Value of a Comparative Perspective in Constitutional Adjudication"

She can't even bring herself to let that little historical authenticity "opinions of mankind" pass her censorious lips. History exists to be reformed. Jefferson did not say "Humankind". The big bad omnipresent censor strikes.

The interesting thing about Edward Whelan's analysis is that it seems to show that Ginsburg's reasoning is not really reasoning. It is disjointed pseudo-reasoning, full of leaps and non-sequiturs. Therein is the real failure of liberal thought - it takes on the form of intellectual discussion, but it violates most of the rules of intellectual honesty. That's why we so often cannot follow it. It's not deep, it's rambling.
