I just got banned at DU!
I've been lurking for about a year making occasional posts, nothing outrageous, just common sense. And I got lambasted for that!
But the Christian bashing got a little TOO bad just recently. The atheists and bigots over there are offending even the DUers who consider themselves Christians.
There was this post with a joke comparing the Pope to a Nazi. I thought turnabout was fair play. So I took a couple of lawyer jokes and used the word "atheist" instead.
This is the entire post that got me banned.
"Q) What do you have when an atheist is buried up to his neck in sand? A) Not enough sand!
Q) Whats the difference between a porcupine and a bus load of bigot atheists? A) On a porcupine the pricks are on the outside!"
Thats it. Thats ALL I said... Apparently the Christian bashers can dish it out, but the can't take it! Liberals have ZERO sense of humor.Oh, they're are real funny when they are discriminating against people of faith...but one post at their expense...CALL THE MODS! HOW DARE HE! Waaaaah!
And then the entire thread was pulled from the DU Lounge. Wah.
For those of you at DU lurking here I think I got between 50 and 70 posts.
There was one post where I disagreed with the praise for communist Cuba, I mentioned the librarians who Fidel arrested in 2004 for the horrible crime of advocating free speech, and I was called a liar! Furthermore one DUer called me out as a Freeper troll. I reported him, and he got banned! You guys were soooo close! Had anyone perused my posts, you would have known the truth!
I learned a few things about DUers whilst I was there.
1) Cuba is a paradise. Free health care for everyone!
2) NEVER, EVER criticize a communist country. Yoda in his wisdom lives there! This is real! China with all her human rights abuses can only be presented as angelic next to the vile USA.
3)There is a group of DUers who advocate the violent Communist takeover of the US.
4) Sedition and treason lie just under the surface there...I think too many visits by the Secret Service shut off the more ardent support for violence...but its THERE!
5) DUers post ALL the time! Day or night. They live there! Seriously, one guy DIED at his computer in his mom's basement! These guys have NO life. They are amoral, or rather "above morals." Laws do not constrain them. They are surprised when a terrorist at Gitmo has his letters censored. They are shocked when an anarchist gets arrested and his held for an entire day!
The hatred for Christians and Jews is astounding! Actually they live in a miserable world of hate, even their jokes are hateful.
None of them are ever happy.They are offended that President Bush continues in office. They cannot even say the word "President."
And delusional! Wow. You thought DU Funnies was revealing. Imagine entire forums of fantasy and hate speech.
C'mon, you have GOT to be making that up!
I read the post-funeral report by one of the guys who went; it sounded like quite a few people showed up.

I made the mistake of admitting who I was and trying to start a dialogue which earned me an instant tombstone lol.
I nearly made it to 1000 posts once... after getting kicked off twice before that.
I would post two conflicting comments on the same thread to see if anyone was paying attention. Generally that just post and don't read what others had written.
I can't remember the exact thread that got me banned - but I remember an amazing amount of irrational thought on their side and when I said something... FACTUAL... I was thrown to the wolves.
It was fun while it lasted - but they are nuts. I won't be going back.
So now after you got banned, there are only 6 DU members left?
To increase your post count, go to their lounge area and post a thread about something innocuous. Then respond to everyone.
I posted about book ideas and recipes and that type of thing.
Got me near 1000 before I blew my lid.

Is there anybody over there who is not a Freeper? I never quite believed anybody could actually believe some of the bizarre comments I've read over there...this may explain it.

I've been banned over there several times.
One time (no, not at band camp...), someone had a link to an IQ test.
Little did I expect that any score in triple digits was cause for exile...
There was a pretty clever DU troll using the mirror of that technique here at FR a little while back. His name was GoOrdnance and he posted here for months. He was in deep cover, with a pro-military homepage and lots comments that looked authentically conservative. One day, though, he went a little bit too far -- he blamed Bill and Hillary for something in a way that was just a little too caricatured. That's when I looked through his posting history and became convinced that he was a troll, one with good technique. I reported him to the mods, they looked through his posts and didn't see anything funny but decided to check his computer id code (or whatever it's called) anyway. It turned out that he had been registered under other names and banned several times before. Moral of the story is that there are probably more than a few trolls here using the attack-from-the-right method.

No offense, but isn't what you did precisely what you are attacking THEM for doing? It seems they just have all around low tolerance for ANY non-PC dissent. In fact, you WERE a Freeper, and you got the guy banned for that?
I'm not criticizing you, just pointing out that those who live by the complaint to DU mods.... ;)
Damn, that's a terrific opus. Looks like you got it all in there. I can't imagine anyone gave it serious attention, though--much easier to dismiss it and go back to their fantasy lives.
