Just to add a few words Doug forgot to tell you...
...Plus the CD offers four of FR and Virginia's own, MUDBOY SLIM FReeps and a beautiful rendition of America the Beautiful that we don't mess around with. No one can say that this production has "no redeeming value" if they listen to this soul-stirrer.
This creation was a labor of love and it has dang near killed me getting this CD from the pages of FRee Republic and doug from upland's posts to a CD in less than 90 days.
Then, again, I had to escape from the danged note-by-note construction of the tunes to the vile and evil MIDI files.
Doug, couldn't this have been done to a soothing sound, oh, I don't know...something akin to a CHAINSAW???
Anyway, I dishovel!
The brilliant writng that springs from doug from upland (BTW...another vile place)and MUD's brain, is phonetically challenging to perform vocally. Much as opera is a learned and practice vocal science, this is the art employed here.
Every word has meaning and every word is clearly heard against a patriotic backdrop of a musical score that in my mind's eye, I envision as a rock opera.
This score backed by the RIGHT filmakers should be a four or five part mimiseries, only thing and the sad part is, it's all true.
No flames were extinguished in the creation of the poet's work or in the fire in our hearts and bellies to get it to you, our FRiends.
OKAY, I am no German Tenor. However, I am Eric and John, David and Bono, Tolstoy and Breznhev and a host of other singer's and certain pol's worst nightmares. The sole female lead is named simply, Bunny, and she's packing at all times!! Be warned! Beware.
The various back-ups, singers and players during the session shine through as they smiled, smirked, giggled and belly -rolled their way through these classic rock and folk recordings.
I need to make this one point clear. These are all original songs crafted to sound vaguely in the style and vocals of the actual original recording artists and songwriters.
So, while recording, each session player assumed a minor role as producer to be sure we did not infringe on any leftist's/lawyers singer/songwriter's copyrights.

I hope all FReepers will respond to doug from upland for all the debate this will surely cause, here on FR and outide these hallowed web pages.
