WASHINGTON, March 23 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The 11th Hour Coalition to Save Terri Schiavo's Life will hold simultaneous press conferences -- Wednesday, March 23 -- at 12 noon in Washington, D.C., and Tallahassee, Fla.

This ad hoc partnership of religious and political organizations -- which will gather in front of the White House and the Florida governor's mansion -- will call on President George W. Bush and Gov. Jeb Bush to use their executive powers to protect Terri Schiavo from starvation.

"There are two people in the United States who can save Terri Schiavo's life right now. The president of the United States and the governor of Florida have the authority to use the police services at their disposal to take Terri into protective custody, restore her food and hydration, and arrest anyone who would interfere," said Dr. Paul Schenck, executive director of the National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill. "For the sake of Terri's life, we cannot afford to wait while the courts dither over jurisdiction."

Dr. Paul Schenck, National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill

Coalition Members appearing at the press conference:

-- Fr. Frank Pavone, Priests for Life

-- Stephen G. Peroutka, Esq., Face the Truth TV & Radio

-- Fr. Thomas Euteneuer, Human Life International

-- Michael A. Peroutka, Esq., Institute on the Constitution -- Rev. Greg Cox, Faith and Action

-- Rev. Stephen Cox, Gospel of Life Ministries

-- Rev. John Vandenberge, National Clergy Council

What absolute bloody rubbish. Show me a single section, paragraph, sentence, phrase or word in the United states Constitution that grants supremicy to courts that -- but for the supreme court [Which has now given itself more tyrannical powers than George III was capable of even delusionally fantasizing to himself!] -- exist only by the authority of the Congress!

As soon as you provide to me the statement, with Constitutional backing, that federal courts, the legislative branch, or the executive branch have the right to step in and supersede state court rulings. No 'living, breathing' Constitution crap that liberals espouse. Caution, there's that little 10th Amendment there you won't be able to get past. Most, except the most extremely deluded, have seen that. That's why opinion is strongly against the Republicans on this issue across the board. It's sad when the crackpot liberal Democrats who espouse centralization of government have to give Republicans a lesson on federalism.

Our Constitution begins "We The People," not "they the bloody courts!"

And again the Constitution of these United States was established as a limitation on the federal government, not the state govermments. Contrary to Republican beliefs, the document still applies when they are in power. Funny how they somehow remember it when Democrats are in power but those limitations disappear once they come to power. But rant on, you haven't said anything yet.

Projecting, again? Not using Constitutional arguments, reason, or anything that resembles rational thought anymore has long been the preserve of the nation's courts. Perhaps its time we stopped kowtowing to their scurrilous lawlessness -- and took the same approach?

And there you have it. They did it, so why shouldn't we? Of course our 'cause' is much more just, so that makes it acceptable to break the law and throw out the Constitution? I figure I'll live another 50-60 years, God willing. I can't wait to see what you faux conservatives will have done to this nation of states by then. We'll have mob rule in every neighborhood!! But don't worry, all the mobs will have a R by their names so that will make it acceptable

You are a judicial activist. The Constitution does not have a right to privacy, and those judges who created it amended the Constitution unlawfully. All states in 1965 were allowed to outlaw or allow contraception. All citizens were allowed to move to states that met with their moral leanings. All citizens and their representatives were authorized to join a movement to amend the constitution lawfully if they did not agree with some states being allowed to make them illegal. What happened instead is that an unelected court decided to substitute its wisdom. That kind of conduct on issue after issue is what has played the major part in tearing down the foundations of this country, and we are only just beginning to build them back, slowly. It will take decades to restore the constitution, as shown by the attitudes of nominally conservative people like you who have been brainwashed by 40 years of anti-Constitutional propaganda.

I am not for outlawing contraception. I AM for following the Constitution.

"The executive branch has the duty to enforce the law"

and the legislative branch to enact legislation as representatives of the people,

and the judicial branch does NOT enforce NOR make law . . . Constitutionally . . .

Our current laws are based on the assumption that the family members of an incapacitated person will act in that person's best interest AND persue their wishes, if any had been articulated.

I am uncomfortable monkeying around with our laws because Michael Shiavo does not have his wife's best interests at heart.

Too bad the Schindlers couldn't have gotten a divorce for Terri in some way or else found proof of MS's maltreatment of their daughter. Somewhere in the last 15 years, legal mistakes were made and we are left with an untenable situation. It is tragic and sad.

Would the fact you could get it reversed, at great expense and trauma to your family, change the fact that the governor acted outside of the law?

just WHO is voilating hundreds of years of the rule of law, if not the judges in this case?

These are your words, not mine. What your words imply is a conspiracy in the whole of the judiciary who have reviewed this case.

I hope your aren't lumping my use of the term "popular revolt" as extra-legal action. It was a poor choice of words, especially in such a heated debate.

However, sitting quietly and waiting for the next election in order to act as an individual in a vacuum in order to attempt to punish the legislator is not only unwise, but not fair to those we've charged with the responsibility to represent us.

They need to know the will of their constituents, and the magnitude of their political will in order to act as effective Representatives. Like a good boss, we need to let our employees know what is expected of them, and what our goals are.

How they respond to this "popular revolt" is how they will be judged on election day.I doubt we are in disagreement here. But I do disagree with your respect for judicial authority. They are not a branch without immediate checks and balances from the other branches. They can be overridden.

what if govt (courts) go the other direction (highly more likely) and start authorizing active euthanasia for the infirm, and mentally incapacitated?
This death by starvation and dehydration is inreality, active euthanasia.

"I believe Terri should be save, but not by a police state!"

Then don't allow the police state to deny her own parents to bring her water. . .

Judges aren't supposed to create a police-state environment such as at the hospice, yet they have, and THEIR police state is trumping ALL legitimate law and legitimate exercice of power to save her . . . out of deference to judicial "Law" and policing. We should follow "law" that they make up as they go along, but the Congress and President, who are responsible for legislating and enforcing law, should NOT be able to?

The tyranny of unelected judges is more to be feared than that of ELECTED representatives -- which is why they are elected!

The Consititution did NOT give judges the power they have appropriated and continue to advance -- as everyone seems so willing to defer to the "Law" as the judges see or make it -- but not as anyone else does.

Your straw man about what a horrid precedent it would be for Jeb Bush is in fact the situation that we already have. Any state official can pursue any citizen today on trumped up charges for bad or corrupt reasons. A governor or his state police can be bribed, for example, and then use the power of the state against the individual. It happens (see Arkansas, circa 1985) but luckily, the instances of it are few and far between. The checks on such conduct are many, from the vote, to honest judges, to federal courts and the FBI.

So, to say that if Jeb Bush acts to save a life in an emergency situation, while allowing recourse to the courts for Michael Schiavo if he disagrees, puts your children in jeopardy of being snatched in the night is absurd, a red herring posited by the culture of death.

As over the top as this may sound, President Bush has the legal right to declare her an illegal combatent.

This option has real teeth. Shows how screwed things are in this country.

We are paying the price for liberal judges. Everywhere in America.

Which is a direct result of voting party instead of principle IMHO. Funny how some people turn the "principle" and "Constitution" switch on when its most convienent...damn hypocrits.

I guess there is a price to pay for voting for gutless RINO's, who won't stand up to injustices and perversions of the Constitution. What we're observing right now is a good case study. (Bots and neo-con nazis take note)

Its way past due to clean house in the Republican party; or just assume that ALL our elected officials don't give a rats ass about representing WE the People.
